Japan beat 2 of the Pentagram in one chapter. Thats efficient. Sakuraba finally did something in this game. And GaouxYam. was awesome.

I really wanted to like this chapter but…to just bring in Takami out of nowhere so he and Sakuraba could defeat Tatanka...it just felt like the whole thing was just rushed beyond belief and now it makes me think that they could call in anyone who still has a story to finish this team off. (but won't...considering half of Team Japan probably is getting minimal coverage as is) I did like Gaou and Yamato taking down Don together though.

The chapter was awesome, Gaou and and yamato teaming up to take down down is pretty awesome. Sena needs to make his move now.

The Gaou/Yamato team up was amazing to see. And I agree monta and Sena need to make their moves…it time to step up...... But a concern for me is Shin...wasnt he hurt last chapter.....devil bats need a good defence to hold up against panther and I can see Agon taking him by himself but that would be fun to see Shin get no screen time.....

I just got into this series. I like it, it's been a real interesting read and it's awesome to see my favorite sport represented so well outside it's country of origin. This World Cup arc though has been underwhelming so far, and far inferior to the climb up the Christmas Bowl. Still, I look forward to how Sena will beat Panther. As for the spoiler,
! Hell yeah! I was hoping hoping hoping he would be it! When his team gave up… he's a great character with a lot of depth.

I've noticed that the match has gone to near 10 chapters now…..that's kinda short (it felt more like 20 chapters....probably because some chapters were packed with alot of content)

Wow, that was a great chapter. Both in the revelation (great to see Rui play the world) and in the truth of Agon being exactly a twin of Usui. (which makes me think he could sneak in near the very end)

That was a good chapter. I too think that Agon did what he did so that Usui will get a chance to play since they do look so much alike. However, their play style is so different that I can't see how no one will notice. Though it would be cool if Usui gets in a play that pushes Agon over the MVP line. Rui was awesome as well, I hope he makes a big play. I would be cool to see his team become motivated by this and go on to become a major powerhouse. Like seeing Sena in action. The way things always play out in this series, I would not be surprised if at the very end of this match, he manages to run 40 yards in under 4 seconds.

Both the latest chapters have had the one thing ive been missing, any kind of emotional depth. Sakuraba and Takamis final moment of glory, and Habashira showing exactly how far you can go without being blessed really has that classic eyeshield feeling to it. And i Loved the way that all Habashiras struggeling payed of and gave Sena a window to steal the ball. Take that Unsui you no drive punk

I enjoyed this chapter very much and this is the eyeshield 21 i fell in love with. The teamwork and bond between the player that lets the drive foward in a never ending quest to reach the top…..it beautiful.
Akon is becoming a team man now and i am looking forward to more of his character development from a lone wolf to a team member who help everyone succeed....that is what he'll need to do since shin is currently out.....
but i do c his brother coming in and playing with him as a linebacker...maybe making there bond stronger than before. -

The only good thing about this chapter: it feels like the series is nearing an end…but that's it. We get an unhyped score for Riku and Sena is preparing for his final showdown with Panther with little motivation really. I want to say we have a few weeks left but after the last extension in the series, I'm afraid they'll extend it again.

It's weird that Sena managed to stay alive after confronting Don, compared to Shin, while Don was more motivated to show Americas strenght.

I enjoyed this chapter (the art was really nice, and I adore Panther), but god I did laugh my butt off at the "male way of living" thing.
What made me laugh so hard was that it's partly true. Football is very much a guy's sports. I know some girls like it too, but the driving force behind the sport is men.

On the whole "males way of living" thing, it is a concept that's really true. Male species espescially in harem societies usually have no rights except the right to challenge the leader of the pack as many times as they like. Lot's of people do it too, like the type of guy who fights a person whom they have no hope of winning against but they do it anyway just because. It's a really manly concept. And manly is awesome.

None of the american rivals really have anything of interest to them. It's nice seeing Hiruma and his tricks, but other then that, I kind of wish they'd ended things at the christmas bowl, with the 60 yard magnum. That really was a perfect finish.

Aside from OP (and what potentially seems to be a great Gintama chapter), Jump this week has been substandard. The whole game has been ridiculous…make that the whole tournament, but the good news: unlike other series, once this is over, it's finally over.

How is Hiruma, who has been repeatedly stated to be physically average, able to jump over the fucking American all star defense like that??? I don't care how distracted they were, they could have just reached up and plucked him out the air….
However I don't think this chapter is bad, it's merely average when compared to the rest of the series. That just highlights to me how good the rest of the series was.

This arc for the most part sucked. Not quite as bad as the X-Mas bowl arc, but still.
I admit that when Shin took down Clifford, and some of the Agon moments were epic, but everything else is retarded. I don't blame the writer, I blame shounen jump forcing them to rush the series. Thanks to them the finale will be as long as the match with the Poseidons. Nice going, Jump
