@RuNa:
I personally find Astonishing to be quite terrible (especially with what they do to a few characters
Yay, someone else agrees with me!
As for Mighty Avengers, I really DID NOT like the opening arc. It shows how much of a boner Bendis gets for the goddamn wasp (Seriously? The Best Avenger? Are you kidding me?). Ares is VERY good here, though, and I have to read it for Ms. Marvel.
Yeah, the first arc was kind of really not good… though it improves after that one.
@Tizoc:
What didn't you like about it? …and please don't say it made Cyclops interesting, he's been interesting since 2001 >=(
Ugh. I HATE what they've done to Cyclops over the years. He's never been one of my favorites, but I could at least appreciate how he was "the most moral and upstanding of men." He was kind of a dick, but that's because he was an uberstrict by-the-books kind of guy and that tended to rub others the wrong way. Not my favorite, but I could at least respect the character.
But now he's an adulterer and an utter asshole, who's sending kids on Black Ops-style death missions. What the FUCK!?
I mean, X-Force (and Cable, thanks to the current crossover thing) is the only X-book that's not utter trash nowadays, but I am not at all happy with the idea that "dark and gritty" is needed to make characters interesting. -_-
@RuNa:
Actualy, I don't even really read the main X-books anymore because of the whole Xavier situation, Cyclops is just icing on the cake that I don't want.
Yes.
As for the overcheesecake in the first Mighty Avengers arc, I took that as Bendis playing to Cho's art since he's a pervert who likes drawing boobies more than anything. Hence girlUltron(lolwut) and all that crap.
Anyways RuNa, you should probably check out Slott's current run on Mighty. It's all about giving Pym a much-deserved shot into the spotlight, and also happens to be the only Avengers book to actually feel like the Avengers in a long, long time.
And this is coming from someone who actually likes New Avengers.
