Basically, this chapter was Naruto going "Hrm yeah… this fight has gone on so long, I'll flashback to something that happened earlier in the fight" along with yet even MORE "Don't get in Naruto's way, he sooo much better than the rest of us, even exhausted and beat up!" and "Yes, after a 30 chapter fight, I have decided fighting is meaningless. Nevermind the villains the still remain that I'll inevitably have to fight."
Cripes. Can he just be crowned friggin' Hokage of the the Village of the Crater already? He really, really shouldn't garner THIS much trust and respect until THE final battle, it kinda undermines the whole theme of the series that he'll prove himself.
No wait, the theme was hard work can overcome genius, as exhibited by Ten Ten and Rock L... ohhhh. right.

Forum had trouble with timestamps yesterday, so for a few hours everyone was able to post like, 12 hours prior to the most recent posts. lead to some interesting quirks. Like my posting 8 or 9 times without realizing it.

edit: oh it's some sort of "joke"…..damnWould you have caught on easier if I said this week's chapters of Dragonball, Fist of the Northstar, and Captain Harlock were better? Because I can do totally go with a finished series that next time the joke is apt. Really, I can. (I'd considered thrwoing in Nodame Cantible and Claymore, but those actually come out once in a while.)

That's what saddens me. I am not questioning others taste or judgement, but animes need to be improved. Not to say animes like pokemon, medabots etc shouldn't be aired at all

And Obito isn't dead, supposedly. One could argue that Madara is inhabiting his body since we haven't seen Madara's full face in present time but we know he's wearing an eyepatch over his left eye… eh, whatever.

No one is arguing Kishi has a problem with killing chaacters, cause he does. But under a certain age bracket, there seems to be a rule in place, possibly editorial, that they can't be killed.
Named hero characters under the age of adulthood seem to be immortal. Choji, Neji, Gaara, and now Hinata, all had death scenes (and Choji's had 8 tons of death symbolism and imagrey) but, since they were 12-15, they survived. (Not to mention Rock Lee's recovery from the world of being a permanent cripple. Less extreme, but still a cop out.) I mean cripes, Gaara was clinicly dead before his ghost in the machine ending! worst part is theyve all done… pretty much nothing since cheating death, except to steal the good death scene away from themselves.

Yeah but aren't most of those seinen? (OK, Gantz and Berserk are but LW&C was pretty much written before said rules were set up) Rules are different there and anyone can die at any time if the circumstances are set up correctly. It could still happen in shonen but the rules are different.

Berserk is one of the greatest and most epic manga of all time. If you skip it 'cuz of the art style you're really missing out on one of the most mature and shocking manga you'll ever have an opportunity to read.

The art is great, the main character is likable, the antagonist is a fucking piece of shit that you want to see tortured and so on… It’s probably too violent for under 12 years old kids though, too bad the horse never got to fuck that blonde chick, I still remember that part.

The only thing you can really dislike is the mangaka for taking vacations just to play some game made for teenagers. It shows lack of respect for the fans, at least pretend you’re sick like the mangaka of HxH does.

Seriously. Lone Wolf and Cub. Berserk. Claymore might be up your alley too, now that I think about it. Those have more mature swordfights. Lone Wolf and Cubis human opponents while the others are more monstery.

What does shonen or seinin have to do with it? Kaizoku wanted a series where guys with swords kill people and heroes could die. Basically, he wanted a story for 18 year olds instead of 12 year olds. So I suggested some. Shonen and seinen aren't genres, they're age brackets. Shonen tends to stay away from realistic reprecussions and focus on friendship overcoming all. Its not a flaw, but it is a result of the age group. Seinin is more willing to do… stuff. If Naruto was in a seinin mag instead, then all the characters would probably be in the 18-21 age bracket anyway, instead of starting as 12 year olds, and there might be more chance of them dying.

There's a lot to dislike about Berserk. A LOT. Its a fantastic well done series, with 10 really amazing near flawless volumes, one of my all time favorites. Unfortunatley, its a 33 volume series… so far.
The art howerver, is not something that can be argued about. The art is amazing, and theres something wrong with you if you try to deny THAT aspect of it.

Gutts was unlikable at first true, but that was deliberate on Miura's part.
He played a feint by showing things in such an order as to mislead us about Gutts. And you can tell right from the ending of the Black Swordsman arc where he shows Gutts upset over that girl swearing death on him. -

Nagato told her to stand down; she's not going to do anything. If anything in this series, we've learned all too well that they may bitch, but if someone tells someone to "Leave it to me", they tend to do so.

They'll be back. Konan will show up as a medic ninja and Nagato will come back walking. They'll try to get revenge against Madara but then a oragami PWNSLUG will appear out of nowhere and tell them to wait for Sasuke. He's currently about to fight Madara. You'll only get in his way. Then Sasuke will unleash his just revealed 8 tailed form, (him getting it is an off camera secret surprise) and everyone will panic. But then he'll turn back to normal after Itachi appears in his mind and continue fighting. Sasuke will then defeat Madara will his Chidori.As he dies Madara will have a redeeming final speech and reveal he was holding back all along, because there was actually a greater threat … IN THE MOON!
