I can live with that, as far as i understand the context it's fine i think.
So many thanks kewl, you're awesome.

Why redo Part 2? The only problem with the scanlations we had was the whole Straits/Straizo thing.
Though Part 4 needs an overhaul, without a doubt.
Past part 2 I said.
Part 6, Stone Ocean, seems to have been redone… but for some reason they started Like 3 volumes in rather than at the beginning so the beginning is still pretty bad. But the other like 17 chapters are fine.
Hopefully the groups redoing parts 4 and 5 will get going.
For Part 3, that's the only part that Viz liscensed and released. So I dunno, there might be some idea among those scanlators that because of that they don't need to do it. Or they want to support the official version or whatever. I dunno, someone may redo part 3 and do the beginning of part 6 at some point, too.
Translations for certains parts suck, huh?
Is the context still clear/easy to understand at all?
No, they like outright make things up, don't translate to the right thing, doesn't use proper English, etc.

could you possibly explain in brief the major things that were made up

That's because there were no scanlations past vol3 of stone ocean and jojoproject just started from there.
part 5 was also done recently so the trans was kinda good.
and 7 of course.
part1 and 2 were redone by ignition one so they were cool too.
Part3 and 4 are all that rest from that group, that has to be redone.
Yeah part 4 is my favorite part so I would love for that to be redone.
You know the scene that cracks me up everytime when I read it, is the one when Josuke plays dice with Kishibe, and at a certain moment starts to laugh hahahahahahahahahaha and DASH he cuts his finger off.
I went from part 1 to part 5. I started part 6 but after 14 pages I left it, I don't know why.
Are part 6 and Steel Ball Run at a good level? I know there are probably tons of different opinions on which series are the best, but if the overall opinion is that part 6 sucks, I won't bother reading it. . .
To me, Series 2 is the best one by far. Part 3 is awesome, but part 2 is beyond that, in my opinion. Joseph is way too good. Everything about him is awesome, in my opinion, 100 times better than all the other main characters in the series combined. His predictions during battles, his cockyness, his "time to run" tactic, his creative use of the hamon power, his "depending on your answer. . .I may have to kick your ass!". . .Plus, going into a 1 on 1 battle with a machinegun, grenades, and a bar setup with a massive mirror, is just godly.
Baddies in part 2 ROCK, specially WHAM, and Lisa Lisa is the best female character ever in a manga. And the fights are godly; all strategy and wits!
As I said, part 3 is clearly the second best for me. Then, part 1 and 4 are tied atthe third place, being both of them great. And finally part 5. It's definitely good, but not AS good as the others. The baddies are not as awesome as older ones, and the ending situation is quite absurd. Bruno Buchiarati, on the other hand, is pretty much one of the top 5 characters on the series.
Sooooo, after this massive and useless wall of text, and consiering my preferences (from 2 to 5, being 2 my favourite and 5 my least favourite), how would you rank parts 6 and "7" ????
you'll like 7, for sure.
6 is a must read for its total wackiness, even if you don't like it by the end, you just have to read it. In 6 I think Araki was trying to touch on too complicated philosophical stuff, but the themes didn't come over clearly on the first read.
also part 6 has lesbians
I wanted to ask is the concept of Stand ever got explained ? I actually didn't like it when the power up suddenly change from ripple/hamon to stand. it's like reading one piece where haki is the main power instead of devil fruit.
Stands are awesome dude.
It gave JJBA something that made it diferent from other mangas at the time.
My favorite part is 3, because of ORA ORA ORA and MUDA MUDA MUDA and general badassery.
The only problem I had with part 2 was that all the characters - I didn't like their designs. but it was manly as well, second favorite.
then comes part 7, which started out amazing and has since taken a turn towards the strange and unsettling, but hey. gyro has balls of steel.
after that I like 4, 5, 6, and 1.
oh, and the title of this thread is spelled wrong. :P

Yeah but i already read HXH before reading JJBA. so at that time i just think of it as a poor copy of nen (yeah i know technically JJBA come first with that concept) and it doesn't help that i never get an explanation about Stand.

Wasn't there a chapter explaning all about stands?
There was one on Onemanga. You should look for that.

which chapter is it ?
It was a special chapter released in part 7.
Don't know sorry. I will try to find it.
Like when Joseph Joestar met Jotarou in the jail cell he sorta explained it. They also say that it's connected to the Hamon thing. Uh… lemme find a description.
http://jjba.wikia.com/wiki/Stand
The concept of "Stand" (a contraction of the phrase "one who stands by me") was introduced in part 3 of the manga series. According to Joseph Joestar, it is the manifestation of an individual's innate power over the "ripple" (hamon) and represents, to an extent, the individual's psyche. In fact, Joseph once referred to it in the manga as the "ghost ripple" (quite apt, as most of them take on humanoid forms and hover around the wielders like wraiths). Stands are usually sustained by breathing, and hover behind and above the user while usually being invisible to non-stand users. Most Stand Users can access the "senses" of their Stands, seeing and hearing whatever their Stands can.

Thanks kewl0210 .
I already know that but it looks like a half-assed explanation if you ask me, because non of this explain the application of stand itself (like how Anubis stand still exist even after the user dead), unlike hamon when it described as come from a special breathing style and transferred in wave form and so can be null filled by preventing the user to breath and the power amplified when using liquid medium. that why i ask if there are more explanation given in the later part.

I don't remember an "extended" explanation on Stands on parts 2-5. Someone said that in part 7 there's a special chapter talking about stands.
But I'm quite sure the concept of "stand" is a popular one in Japan. Hell, now that I'm playing Persona 4, the hole "Persona" concept is 85% identical to that of the "Stands", and they even go by the Arcana tarot cards. The only explanation given to me so far on the Personas (I'm very early in the game), is that, first, you have to face your dark self and accept it as yourself. Then, you'll have a Persona protecting you. But I don't remember such a thing as "facing yourself" to happen on Jojo.
A stand is just the manifestation of ones spiritual power. The concept comes from the fact that Araki thinks human potential is endless.
I read in an interview that one of the themes of jjba is human potential, how they are capable of extraordinary things if they really want to.
Now it's true that we don't have a clear explanation like nen, or even devil fruit power, but that's part of its charm. I think.
I must say I liked hamon better in the beginning, but I grew up loving stands now.
I still have other thing to ask at the start of the part 3 joseph said that him, jotaro and jotaro's mom gain stand because of the reaction of jonathan body that used by dio when he awaken his stand. but why both joseph and jotaro doesn't lose their stand while jotaro's mother lose hers when dio finally defeated ?
You know Jojo and continuity don't go hand in hand. You just have to accept that, because there are tons of continuity errors.
Like in the beginning we see dio using hermit purple. what happened to that?
Jojo isn't about story really. It's about how he handlles his themes and charachters.

Holly's Stand was actually more of a parasite connected to Dio than an actual Stand.
Once Dio was killed, the thing went with him.
@Mugiwara_no_Ice:

Araki intended the World to have all the Joestar Stands (And it did, when you think about it). The weird vine things were either Jonathan's Stand or the World's version of Hermit Purple.
Hmm, scary.
White Snake has just been on…
oh well.
I LOVE JJBA so much 8'D
Part 1 was a little slow, almost swayed me away with the amount of gore, but I just got stuck on it O w O
and then Part 2? that was epic also.
Part three? No Comment. Too Epic.
Part our had shizzy translations but was also epic, plus the guy who did JJBATAS made a ten minute meme using Akira... hehe.
Part five was on the same level of awesome as Part 3... though I'm a little upset they killed Risotto Nero off so fast ;A;
Part six... I couldn't get into it D'X
Part seven is quite an awesome AU version :) never finished reading it though ;< damn onemanga dieing on us.
Finally I have found and posted in all 7 of my God tier manga threads!
I love all Parts but Part 2 and 3 really were my favourite.

There are lots of places that hold manga viewing online, One manga wasn't the only place.
Yeah, here's a good source for Jojo manga:
http://ls57tiger.freepgs.com/jojo/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4614
Though you can also just get it all on mangatraders.
The done-well scanlations that are getting done slowly may or may not be up to date there. Course seeing as they release them by volume, they're not going to come out frequently.
So wait Kewl, I'm really confused
What parts are being re-done at the moment?
Yoshikage Kira was a good bad guy.
JJBA villains were generally good, if not a little hammy in some cases., although I liked that. It was nice to have a female protagonist for shonen with Jolyne, well unless of course Part 6 was seinen.
The only villain I never really liked was Diavolo, because he was so damn dull, and King Crimson seemed like a cheap rehash of The World. It was impossible for me to get into Golden Wind. For me, that's when the story started to lose my interest. I started to derail right after Fugo decides to quit. I know it's because Araki realized that he had overpowered his Stand, but the way it was handled was just stupid.
Golden Wind still had some parts that I liked, especially the return of Polnareff, even if he was never really my favorite character from Part III. And, we got to see him go up against Diavolo…in a fucking wheelchair!
The return of Polnareff was awesome, I nearly creamed my pants lol. Part 2 is my overall favourite, although I am really getting into Part 7 atm. I feel I'm entitled to a slow Jojo read this time since it only took a few months for me to catch up to this point lol.
My favorite part was IV, because it was a welcome change of pace from the linearity that the series was known for. For me, that's when the Stand Powers started to get really creative. And for the most part, I enjoyed the cast of allies, especially Koichi and Rohan Kishibe. Jotaro's character was a lot more likable, too. He was still the serious, no-nonsense type that he was as a teen, but his maturity added a lot to that.
I used to not like Part II. But, after rereading it, I really enjoyed the story. The whole plot earlier on about Joseph racing against the Nazis to prevent them from getting to the Pillar Men was reminiscent of Raiders of the Lost Ark, which is always a good thing.
I felt the same about Part 1 when I first read it, in fact there was like a year between me reading Part 2 from 1, because I only granted Part 1 8 out of 10 to start with. However I rate it higher now I have read the series as a whole. It takes a lot of patience to read something so long, if it were a lesser series I may not have been able to make it.

Koichi got the most character development IMO in part 4 hell his stand Echoes evolved the most. And out of all the stands to me Echoes is one of the best. I also like his involvement in part 5 (from what I read)
Rohan Kishibe may be my favourite chara from the entire series.
hmmm part 2 Joseph and gyro zeppelli are great too.

Part 2 was Caesar Zeppelli, if I recall correctly.
Again, Part 2 is beyond amazing. The setting, the characters, THE FIGHTS,. . .
GODLY.
Plus, the pace and the duration is just PERFECT. Not too short, not too dragged.
Part 3 is awesome, but it is quite long. Still, the fights were as good as part 2.More or less the same with part 4, but since it was much more "casual" and less serious than part 3, I never got to consider it as "important".
Part 5 got it everything: good stands, GREAT setting, beatifull environments (f*cking Italy can be gorgeous!), epic situations. . .BUT, I never got THAT much into fights. I don't know why, but they were kinda confusing to follow.
Still Good, but not AS good.
Yet, Bruno Bucciarati. ALL THE WAY.

Before, the only things I liked in Part 2 were Joseph, Lisa Lisa, and Stroheim. Araki's earlier character designs were a little awkward, too, drawing Jonathan and Joseph with small heads and huge bodies. Caesar Zepelli was a little boring, too, especially when compared to William. The pillar men never really interested me, either. But, I did like the final battle between Joseph and Cars.
More on Part 4; I think a lot of people can agree that the biggest problem with reading it was the godawful translation. I know it wasn't Araki's fault, or anything. For the most part, I could make out what it was supposed to be, but there were still a lot of times when I was just stumped.
Part 2's very underrated.
It had NAZI SCIENCE, people! NAZI SCIENCE!!!!!!!1!111!!11one
Part 2 was Caesar Zeppelli, if I recall correctly.
I was talking about part 7 gyro zeppelli.
He and part 2 Joseph, cause I was a little dissapointed with part 3/4 Joseph.
I finished part 2. It was a fantastic read.
I heard that part 3 was the best. Is that right?
Part 3 is considered the part where Araki came into his own and the series stopped looking like Fist of the North Star.
Part 1 and 5 are my favorites, though.
Does Araki have a fetish for poses, I wonder.
Cars's was really gay.
The poses are really wacky in the first two parts (And five).
And Cars wasn't gay, he was fabulous.
I believe I've read somewhere that Araki borrows inspiration for his poses from fashion magazines and art books. He primarily uses women models.

Man, I couldn't believe he applied this pose to a man:
!
It is not wacky. It's just gay.
