@Fire Fist:

Nope that was Bald/Bard, and his character design was a little different. He had an eyepatch.
-
Yeah…I think that guy is the Isaac character listed in the cast list. I dunno what the deal with him is. He was shown running around briefly in the fourth trailer.
Ugh, they have tons of material to work with. The manga series's almost over, why do they have to introduce filler already?:/

Must be an anime sickness to include a personal touch with adding stuff that isn't in the manga. Apparently they don't get that the anime handling of manga content alone is enough to create a personal touch.
-
Filler character… anime is not even out and they are going to ruin it already. Well lets see first, but come on... don't do it plz, stick with manga script. I know its hard make anime straight from manga but do your best. No too much filler characters what really dont exist.
-
Just a thought: This Isaac guy could be the guy who "started" the Ishbalan War. Envy mentions disguising himself as a certain soldier when he shot the child, but doesn't mention the soldier by name. He does, however, mention that he was stripped of his rank by Military Tribunal for his actions. If Isaac is that guy, then I wouldn't be so bothered by his appearance in the Anime.
-
bump
Checking through old volumes, during the Ishbal War volume (15), there's an Isaac Squad mentioned as having gone missing. So yeah… I'm beginning to think that this "Isaac" is the guy that Envy framed, or at least some military deserter from the war.
Well, I guess that's not TOO Bad for a filler character... but what will his point in the story be?

Wow you guys aren't very patient are you?

NO, I dont wait doctor. But I really hope that Isaac theory is right down there. Not any pointless side-anime-only-character pulled nowhere.
-
So are they going to start this second anime from the very beginning (chapter 1)? If yes, that'll be very satisfying.. Though I still like the first anime they come up with..
-
I remember reading an interview with Arakawa where she said if they are to adapt her manga into an anime, she doesn't want it being a PERFECT adaptation that doesn't add it's own spin to things because that would be boring.
Adding in a filler character to do your occasional random filler stuff that doesn't reflect the rest of the main plot seems to accomplish that -
I'm willing to bet this Issac guy won't destory the plot. I also feel this adaptation will follow the manga more faithfully. Why would they be making a second one if it wasn't?
-
-
I'm too excited to give a shit about filler
-
Here's a two-minute trailer someone recorded at the Tokyo Anime Fair. Shows of some stuff from the manga like Truth and Ed's mock-attack on Bradley during his test, and it mostly focuses on the group fighting Isaac, who appears to use primarily ice alchemy, and he is wearing a military uniform under his cloak, so I guess it is safe to assume he's involved with the manga's vanished Issac Squad.

I guess they're going to animate the flashback stuff with Ed becoming a State Alchemist first intsead of starting right from Reole to avoid the first episodes feeling like a rehash of the first series.EDIT: Fifth commercial. Shows the aftermath of the Tucker incident. Break out your hankies.

Thank you Crossword, that was awesome that they didnt make anything up nowhere! Greeeat! DO WANT!
-
They propably built Isaac in because there is still half a year left before the manga ends. But still, this looks good and as long as they follow the story in all other aspects, I'm excited for some action like it is shwon there.
It's starting April 5th? Is that correct? Damn, I'm thrilled.
-
There should be no need for fillers. There's 92, 42 page chapters of content. But they can easily expand on things not expanded on in the manga.
I'd love to see more of the Silver Alchemist because his design was amazing.
-
I predict this series will be awesome, and it will be awesome because of one thing that the anime lacked from the original manga, and I can sum it up in one word:
LING!!!

Yeah, in the omake to volume 15, Arakawa even said that she liked drawing Comanche, but he wasn't very popular. Hopefully we'll see some filler of him AND Basque Grand (the Grand of the Manga, not the Grand of the Anime).

Wouldn't that still apply as filler?
-
Eh I guess technically, but the fillers in One Piece sometimes are hardly noticeable sometimes, when they add things here and there. As long as Ed and Al aren't going to fight the Candy Alchemist in the country of Lalawood then it's fine with me.
-
I wouldn't mind fillers just as long as there not "naruto retarted"

EH?! I know I haven't read the manga for over a year, but I had no idea it was about to end. Damn.
-
Even if the rumor of 100 chapters is fake, the players are assembled, the only ones Missing now are Izumi, Gredling and Wrath, and it is time for it to end.
-
It's hard to believe the series hasn't even hit 100 chapters yet, tho considering a chapter is the size of 2 or more of One Piece and only happens once a month, I guess it makes sense.
-
weekly chapters range from 15 - 30pages biweekly can be from 19 to 30pages
monthly chapters range from 35 - 80 pages (this is all from observation) -

Nah, i'm pretty sure FMA will be subbed faster than you can say Brotherhood.
Not too fond about the ending, but the opening sequence is neat. Is it me or every single song by Yui sounds the same? -
-
why didn't I think to do that. :P
gruu, why are the op/ed out, but not the episode. >_> my little fangirl head is gonna esplode -
^There will be RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGEEE if a Mazinger Z fansub does not come out soon D=<
-
Downloading now, but has anyone seen it?
What do they do in it? how much of the Manga Does it cover? -
just finished DL. gonna watch it now. eeeee
-
Dude, did they really use young Hohenheim in the OP? pumps fist YES!
-
i thought that was a grown up Ed? I don't read the comic online, so i'm not as far as some of you.
watched the episode. looks like the anime is taking some creative liberties. I'd consider this filler? Did a good job of setting the story and introducing the charicters.
not sure if i'm gonna like this way of storytelling though. what's up with all the though bubbles. >__>
and the way they do Ed's hair..not sure if i like it or i don't like it yet. it is different.
-
FILLER but fucking great filler! Damn it! Superior quality entertaiment I would say. And it looks so like manga, but in move! Suuuupar~~!
-
I loved the original anime. (cept the movie) I'd love it if they did it like that again, except do the whole manga story.
don't worry, i'm not dissing this yet. i only seen one episode. :)
-
the OP song sounds like yui, am i right? the only j-rock person i would recognise (and know).
hope some group already feast its eyes on this anime and keeps subbing 'em! -

Ahg, I hate .mkv format! It never wants to play on my computer without skipping frames and slowing down, and the only player that it'll work on, Window Media Player, won't show the subtitles. Dammit, I'll have to wait for a hardsubbed version.
Anyway, I did skim through the episode and it looked very nice. I was a bit worried about Kimblee's voice since the roles I've heard his seiyuu in didn't really fit with Kimblee, but it did work out. I was surprised that they even showed Father too. The production values look even slicker than the first series, so this will definitely be an enjoyable run. The intro reminds me that the original Greed left us too soon, though. I see that Envy got to keep his black hair this time.
Anyway, yep, that was fun. I'm looking forward to following this.

That episode was all kinds of badass. Hyouketsu was fucking awesome. o/
And the OP/ED… wonderful.
So long as they follow the actual manga storyline, I shall have no complaints. o/
