Actually, it IS the 22nd, originally it was 16th, but it was delayed an extra week in typical Oku-fashion. That's why everyone "thinks" this

I just wrapped up 237 and I'm actually very impressed by this manga. I didn't care much for the art style at the beginning but it progressively got much better. I lucked out on when I started reading and when I finished, I won't have to wait that long for Phase 2!
If you can handle the gore & sex I definatly suggest reading, it gets really deep sometimes.
! I can handle people getting blown up, torn up, sliced and diced, etc. but when it came to any violence against children it tore me up. Hell it even started with the Onion Kid. Then the little boy and his grandma protecting him from the bird aliens?!?! How heartbreaking is that? The kicker was the little boy that made it into the last mission, getting abused & ignored constantly, hoping and calling out to his imaginary hero to rescue him, it literally made me cry (maybe because I have a 2yr old and a 5 yr old). Just glad he got his hero !

After reading Mad Bull 34, I am of the educated opinion that GANTZ is no longer anything special; Oku himself started to run out of ideas, what, right after the Oni Demon fight? Now I really couldn't care if GANTZ stayed delayed or not.
The only poorly written aspect of Gantz are the vampires themselves. Everything else is very well done, including the fact of Kei's 'current status'.

I came to this opinion pretty much exactly the same time, although I didn't need Mad Bull 34 to show it to me. The vampire thing was the nail in the coffin for me har har.

Well I'm pretty sure people have been saying "oh the series was good until blah blah blah" for at least as long as I've been following it (past 50-60 chapters). But no matter how much people say these types of things, they still read gantz.
I for one am really looking forward to how the global gantz conspiracy will come together, how/when izumi, kei, and big-tits will be revived. This thing with the vamps in gantz should be perdy sweet too.

I wouldn't be suprised if the next mission has a Vampire vs. Humans vs. Aliens twist. Since friendly fire is allowed. Its going to be interesting to see how this battle is going to turn to.

Well, turns out that the 'Vampires' work with the Aliens, as the Female Vampire stated that they are "allies".
There's probably more to it than that. The Vampiric virus is likely of alien origin.

I've always thought of them as "aliens". I tend to think anything other than "human" in the Gantz universe to be an alien. Gantz himself is probably an alien even tho he looks human.

Gantz has pointed ears, so he's obviously not human, yeah.
When the Vampires were first explained, the mangaka made it out like Vampires are mutated by a virus and nothing more, which made them seem really hokey and forced.
However, if it's some kind of alien epidemic, then that makes more sense.

GANTZ is that kind of manga that needs to be read all at once, else the cliffhanger wait is killer. Delaying the releases = bad idea. Hopefully this wait will only be to translate multiple volumes at once.

Gantz is biweekly, so it's not some rare event like Haley's Comet.

GANTZ is intended for an older audience, and manga like that, especially ones as graphic as GANTZ, aren't instantly picked up due to uncertainty of how well it'll sell.
Manga isn't typical read by an older American audience.

Really? GANTZ seems aimed at mid-teens, and that's around the age of most people I ever know who read manga.

Hmmmmm, Chapter 252 seemed a bit lame.
! Katou's new friend seemed to switch emotional gears almost instantly, then just suddenly explains her entire past in a few panels. Eh, didn't feel believable.
! Really interested in seeing this Hachirou Oka fellow, seeing as how he's cleared the game seven time already, which is ridiculous. S'long as he doesn't turn out to be an overpowered piece of shit like Izumi was, it'll be okay. -

As overpowered as Izumi was, he still died so I don't see the need to gripe.
! Well if she's suddenly revealing her entire background, then she's probably slated to die very soon. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that the majority of the Osaka Gantz team gets wiped out. Whee death~

It just seems pretty sudden to reveal everything about yourself to a stranger, let alone when you're in the heat of a giant battle.
