Natsu isn't immune to lightning. The only chance for him being immune against lightning would be the dragonslayer sclae-mode Gazille already used in the Phantom Arc but we don't know the details of it or if there are different abilities to each dragonslayer-magic's mode. Besides Luxus probably knows other magic -> proof!.

Knowing Gerad and being him are two different things, this manga hasn't completely failed yet. Seems that mistgun is the illusion master around these parts. But if Natsu defeats Luxus without getting some kind of power up or help, and i'm not talking about him covering his head in flame and heatbutting Luxus, i'm talking some real pew pew lasers or something, if that doesn't happen then Gazzile is going to come help Natsu, how exciting….

Uugh, this next fight feels soo staged just to have Natsu settle things (with Gergun leaving for no apparent reason and Erza getting fried). I was almost expecting to see a 'top tier' fight for a second there…oh well. Did Mistald have a real reason to leave other than to protect his identity?

Now that the issue is out… much better than the spoilers. Now I'm intrigued by Mistgun and why he looks like that. Also, the guy has worse stage fright than Erza (or is it Elza now?), who went down like a chump. I hope she gets back up again next chapter, ready to kick ass, only for Natsu to ask her to stay back. That's the only reason I can take for her to not be involved in this fight. Luxus also had a great showing here.

Now, Natsu vs. Luxus... I'm looking forward to this fight. I may be old fashioned, but I do enjoy it when the hero (main hero I should say) and the main villain (of the arc) square off. Natsu has power up the butt but doesn't seem to have the kind of control or awareness that Luxus has. Of course, Luxus could blast Erza a few more times to piss Natsu off to the point where he's leaking magical power out of every pore and then there's a fight. Looking forward to next chapter. And this time, no spoilers for me.

Well, we got what we wanted, in a way. Mistgun was taken out of the fight without being beaten like a little wuss. And what little we did see of his fight was pretty damn awesome.

So yay, Mistgun wasn't made to look weak! (and I guess we now know why he was so bent on avoiding FT fellows seeing him)

So here's hoping the Natsu vs. Luxus fight doesn't suck, because then I'll really lament Mistgun pulling out. (I do hope he does something about the Hall of Thunder though)

It looks like he was there untill Elsa and Natsu come and then no need for him, he does believe in Elsa beating the guy as it seems, still cant believe this had such possible greatness and was washed away by this twist, that is sad…

It could still be coincidence, since it was stated that he does just pop in and pop out. Hmmm… I'm not ready to write this development off yet. Knowing that Mist Gun isn't... however you spell his name (seriously, there are like fives to spell it) does make it a bit more bearable, and he does have cool magic. Still though, I wish he kept his mask on. Looked cooler.

Luxus would be Laxus, and Mist Gun would be Mystogan, to name some of the biggest differences.

IS Del Rey really using Mistogan instead of Mist Gun??

Well, I've expected Erza to get taken out for awhile, but it's pretty lame it happened this way. In the past she tanked an attack that would have destroyed Fairly Tail, drained her magic to power a machine to quickly let her chase a criminal, or fought someone else to drain her stamina. Here she fights someone who she beats easily, then gets suckerpunched by Luxus. There's a chance she'll do something later but she's out as a serious contender.

That's one annoying thing about this series. S-Rank mage basically means your strong, but something will always take you out so that other mages can fight.

If at all I'd like to see Laxus get downed by serious plot magic or a group effort. It's way too early for Natsu to take Fairly fail's top spot in an honest match. Also stop taking cheapshots at Elzra.

you guys can't really expect Elza is out for the count can you. Sure she already fought someone, but still that blast even caught offguard isn't gonna keep her out. She will be up soon enough, and Natsu is gonna loose after a nice showing.

Not sure how this is all gonna end, but that's what makes reading it fun. Like Lucy said in chapter 9 "if you understand how a writer's mind works, you'll lose all the pleasure in reading a book"

And I ain't to worried or angry about the Gerard look-alike. Heck Gerard was the first guy we saw in the entire manga. I'm curious to see why he didn't want Erza to see his face, and whats his relation to Gerard. Too bad those fuck-tards had to come in and ruin the fight.

can people stop with the garard hating i mean wow only 3 people are clones. your acting like it ruins the manga completely.i got to say i was surprised by this. i never expected him to be garard. the thing that i am disappionted though is the fact that erza was taking out so easily and that now natzu have to face luxus all by himself that seems kind of rushed to have a one on one right away

She took that attack without any defense like an armor how at the jupiter-shot. Just remember how many hits Zod took before he was defeated. But she sure isn't down for the count.

Both of them are probably based on the Shinto Death Goddess, Izanami.

No but I mean literally, the choreography of the attack was pretty much the same with it tearing through a dark void and then the way it attacked and its design. But that's probably also true.
