No wonder Chuubo's so awesome. He's a Bruce Lee character.
Eyeshield 21 Discussion

Somehow the best scene in the chapter was both Chuubou revealing his "Delta Dynamite"…and Hercules' reaction for getting him on the team during the tryout. On the other hand, I think Militaria is our wild card in this tournament (should have seen it sooner)...but they really need to show where they come from instead of just making up a country. All in all, I'm happy the B-team crushed the Russians even without the true all-stars. (though Gaoh annihilating Rodechinko at the end was hilarious)
-
Chuubous move turned out to be pretty lame, Is that all you gotta do to stop a guy like Yamato.
And like i figured Militaria advances, when you make up a strange new place like militaria you just gotta give us the backstory on that and besides finland never makes it that far in any tournament. Now ill just look forward to sweden vs korea. Also noticed that they tend to love the phrasing "That ….... power born in an instant" xD
-
Well he didn't stop Yamato per se, more like surprised him that a middle schooler can what I assume to be a very high level technique…Yamato did put him down easily when he realized what Chuubou did so I have no complaints.
-
Welp, Militaria's scouts now have false information thinking that the B-team is the all-stars.
Still an awesome chapter. Although I'm really looking forward to next week because we'll FINALLY see the full American roster.
-
The Full roster? I be surprized if there B-team doesn't take care of it like japan's did. Speaking of which I can't wait to see agon's reaction.

Yeah the delta dynamite was simple, but it makes sense, and it was more his willpower that made it so effective.
-
I think Chuubou is awesome now. That is all.
-
The chapter is updated again with the missing page (page 11)
Agon's expression and Heracles = Marco is worth it.
-
Finaly some revalations about the US team.
"The American team has five men represented as five stars of the Stars and Stripes banner, called the pentagram.
The fastest black panther above ground, Patrick Spencer.
The invincible gambler, Clifford.
The human dome, Tatanka (likely Native American)
The wild guy from Hollywood, Bad Walker (kinda seems like DiCaprio)
The man who controls everything, Mr. Don (we only see his back)."And Panther runs 40 yards at 4.1 seconds now. And just like the Japanese game Homer leads the second string to a crushing 105-0 victory against new zeeland. Gaoh then proceds to challenge Chuubou and sends him flying and the chapter ends with which ever the the next game is starting.
-
Ooooo, fun stuff.
Tatanka? Where have I heard that before?
-

At a guess, Dances With Wolves.
-
So, I'm on Chapter 306, almost caught up. Gotta say… holy crap! Musashi's final kick of the Xmas Bowl was fucking awesome!
One question. I sort of sped through the last 300 chapters, did we ever seen Yuuya Hiruma (Hiruma's Dad) at the game?
-
not his face, yo
-
Ehh, thats weak. This series will probably end within the next year. It would be pretty much god awful if it continued after this World Cup. Even the World Cup is sort of pushing it in my opinion… sort of rushed.
-
Yeah, the World Cup is a little rushed, but I'll forgive it since it's been pretty entertaining so far.
At a guess, Dances With Wolves.
snaps fingers That's it. It was the word for buffalo in that movie.
. . . . . but we've already had "Buffalo" Ushijima in the Wild Gunmen, is this guy going to be ANOTHER buffalo character?
-
New chapter is out…and wow, Panther is just uber now, even moreso than before when he barely beat Sena with little experience than being a ball handler! (and running around Houston) At least the whole uniform matter seems cleared up now for the next chapter...though I'm a bit confused as why Kurita is bound and gagged.
-

I think it more just a native american character, and his nickname the human dome makes me think he a WR or CB which doesn't suit a bufflo so the name itself probery has no meaning.
I been wondering about the pentgon's postions. Cliff is a QB of course and I suspect panther will be both runner and linebacker so he can face both sena and shin.
Can't figure out mr hollywood's positon, but the look makes me think tight end.
Mr. Don is another mystery, but I'm hoping to see him in the line for some reason.
-
Mr. Don will be Linebacker. I'm calling that now. Sena's big opponents are always Line Backers. I'm guessing Mr. Hollywood is a Receiver of some kind, and the Human Dome is some vicious Lineman. Not sure what kind though.
Awesome chapter BTW. I love Chuubou now. Watching him is like watching the old Devil Bats all over again.
My only complaint is that Gaou doesn't scare me anymore. I remember when getting tackled by Gaou used to mean you left with a broken bone or two. He's still cool, but I miss that sense of dread that came with being tackled by him.
-
Nice chapter. I always enjoyed seeing those confrontations of Sena and Panther, where they just both have this blank stare on their face. Also holy shit!
105-0! USA is kicking ass!
-
And that's the scrub team. (I wish we could have seen Homer in action though, he's a good character)
I really like Panther as a character, he's developed so well. He really helps negate some of the uber-stereotype that is Morgan.
Sooo, it looks like Tatanka is most definitely Native American, but we'll have to wait to see just how stereotyped he is. He's already got the headband and warpaint, let's just hope he doesn't go around wearing feathers to boot.
Bad Walker . . . . is Brad Pitt, essentially.
I'm calling on Mr. Don being a receiver. Sena's opponent is Panther, but Monta is still lacking one.
Final thought: I'm glad there's that little scene between Musashi and Hiruma at the end, talking about the future of the Devil Bats. We've been so wrapped up in the spectacle lately that we've been lacking a bit in those little human moments.
I do hope they end it with World Cup though, cause it's just not ES21 if Hiruma isn't QB.
-
huh i though Tatanka would he this big hulking lineman, The human dome sounds like some kind of immovable object.
And i figure Don and Walker are the defensive stars.
-
Chapter 313 is out on One Manga.
It opens the possibility that Hiruma could win the NFL position, as he said that he wouldn't make it in any other way, and it shows how badly screwed Militaria is, given what they're up against and their reaction to it.
-
313 is out at onemanga, and what a great chapter it was too. <3
We get some extremely hilarious Agon moments and some depth too with Hiruma and the whole NFL thing. Though at this rate it really seems like the author is just going to handle all the matches aside from the finals in like one or two chapters at max, which is sort of a shame. :/
-
Agon is .. Bald o_O!?
I bet he'll kill that baldy militaria guy soon.
-
Whee! You can always count on ES21 for fun times.
And I'm glad we've finally got the Agon thing under control by promising him the 300 million no matter who wins it. But seeing his anger at the end was even more hilarious. (and now I really think that mummy-man is Unsui)
-
Man I forgot all about this during the break. Wonder how long it take them to figure out japan first stringers haven't played yet.
-
The first two-thirds of the chapter was classic ES21 mind-play, with Agon's conversation with Hiruma and Kid bringing out the best and work in them. The end…well, a bit predictable with how Militaria is about to be annihilated but sort of worth it with their arrogant act.
-
I gotta get back into this.
-
seriously Sweden lost to mexico? And Canada couldnt score a single point against Germany, what kind of crack has been smoken by our beloved author.
And maybe its just cause of the long wait but the art seems better than ever, And it was already one of the best drawn mangas ive ever read.
-

What? Mexico? Good at something? What parallel universe is this exactly?
But Canada fucked up completely. Sounds more realistic.
It balances itself out I guess.
A pretty good chapter. I'm disappointed that so far the rest of the world just seems like fucking trash compared to Japan.
-
Maybe the author is just going by the wiki articles to save time on the matches.
IE. Mexico had two final appearances when it went to it before the US attended.
and Japan has two youth titles only losing to the US when it finally decided to attend.
I wouldn't blame them, especially if this arc is just extra.
-
the last page…had Gaou, Shin, and Agon breaking a path for Sena, which means they were on the O-line? Thought they were on the D-line..what the hell.....
and wish they showed the other players too, like Kakei, Tetsuna, etc. heck i don't think i've seen kakei or tetsuna in the recent chapters lol
-
They probary wanted to take advantage of how psyched up gaou and agon were.
-

It was probably a KickOff Return.
-
Yeah, I'd imagine a kick off return.
Loved this chapter, and I love that I don't have to care about these matches because honestly, I don't. I want USA VS Japan, and the faster the better. Can't wait for this.
Oh and that scene in the car is just pure freaking win.
-
Well, all the win that ES21 has been displaying with some of this arc…is suddenly gone this week. All of a sudden we're rushing to the final game of the World Cup as Militaria and Germany mean nothing...making me wonder why the heck they did this arc in the first place if they just want to rush to that final match.
-

It's ratings are going down the tubes. It went from at least 5th/4th place to 8th/9th place. Most people assume it's ending in March anyway to make room for PRINCE OF TENNIS
-
Yeah I knew the ratings were plummetting seeing how I've been prominent on the Jump boards…but I just didn't expect the series to suddenly enter light-speed pacing once that happened. Particularly to Germany, who was essentially hyped from the start of the arc, to just be turned to fodder like that was not a good sign...and probably shows the series really needed to end with the Teikoku game.
Oh BTW: I think PoT's return is going to be in Jump SQ from what I heard. Considering it plummeted when it was leaving, I really don't want to see it in the magazine again. Rather have new blood than the same old crap.
-
Too fast.
Eyeshield isn't going to end after the world tourney.
Magic shit's gonna happen to extend the series.
You heard it here first.
-
Blink and you'll miss it!
I'm disappointed that this is going so damn fast. I can only assume that the finals is going to take a loooooooooong time.
That or we really are going to the NFL.
-
What on earth?
I thought that would've lasted atleast 2 chapters, what with that guy on the germany side with his 'EIDETIC MEMORY'(gimmick) which was mentioned so many freakin times…pfft
-
guess the final is going to be like 70+ chapters since it was mentioned ES21 was going to continue for a year or two.
maybe they'll dedicate like 1-3 chapters to highlight each player's special skill and such
-
I liked how the matches went quick. It shows how the team is like, "Yea, these guys were OK" and different from the strong guy for Sena to struggle with the whole game.
-
I think they said only one. So it could work with a 40ish match.
What on earth?

Well he was able to put up a fight. At least compared to russia and miltria
Oh and the gaoh and agon moments were awesome.
-
OK finally reading it with translation, the biggest problem with this chapter is that Schultz is just such a great character…and yet Germany gets even less time than Dokupari got against Deimon. (and that was the shortest game of the series prior to this chapter) If it weren't for the series collapsing, this would have been an incredible game with enough build-up and story going for it.
-
What the hell was that retarded time jump about… The pace is really way too fast.
-
Wtf is this shit, Germany doesnt even get one lousy chapter! And i suppose the america game gets what 4 whole chapters so they can really "flesh out all the characters" before they replace eyeshield with the flavor of the month.
If this is how its going to be they might as well just end it now.
-
VS Russia: introduce Chuubou.
VS Militaria: Agon loses hair.
VS Germany: Should have been longer, but there wasn't much point actually.
VS America: Obviously epic.
Then it's NFL time. Or the series ends. It was fun.
-
It'll end sooner than expected ..
But hell, Sena vs Panther is worth to see.
