Holes, maybe, but I wouldn't call them hypocrites. At least not intentionally hypocritical. The only thing I can think of top of my head would be the Colosseum vs their pacifism. That could be explained by public support, history, or even as an outlet for violence that might otherwise get released elsewhere.
Colosseum, where a murderer was put to fight for years upon years. Truly, great rehabilitation facility for criminals in benevolent, pacifistic nation.
And there isn't enough sarcasm in the world.
Though, I suppose, if you have a lot of ruthless fighters willing to do your bidding and kill your enemies for you, it would make it quite easy to be a pacifist.
They look at the actions of Luffy and Law, and they approve of them, and hope them to succede. When you are hoping to resolve the situation through employment of brutal force and vigilantism, you do not get to call yourself pacifist.
And the argument that they aren't involve in the violence personally? Well, neither was Joseph Stalin, and nobody would call him a pacifist.

I'm also surprised at the response about Scarlett's grave. I personally loved it for the sense of closure it gave the family as a whole. It's not like hitting the grave is what beat Diamante. He was already defeated, that was just icing.
The mere fact that it was there was just so cheesy for me it was unbearable.
Also, the fact that grave contributed more to defeating Diamante then Rebecca. The grave, of a person, lest we forget, sharing their supposed pacifism.
So no, you don't get to celebrate that it knocked out your enemy, when just the chapter before you were saying to Rebecca that she should drop the sword and never pick it up again.

@CrazyMerlyn:
And Rebecca was willing to die in the Colosseum for her fellow mates' freedom. How is this any different in her case?
Actually, the only time she was seriously threatened, she was either instantly saved by Barto, or run away, crying for her father to save her. I do not think their situations were the same.
@CrazyMerlyn:
Quite right. I am not arguing Nami joining the crew. but the claim that strength and defeating opponents is somehow relevant to a character joining.
Usefullness to the crew is. Actually, the only people that don't have additional skills useful to the crew are Luffy and Zoro, and they make up for it with fighting strength.
On the contrary, Rebecca would have to fill the role of frontline fighter, while being massively underpowered within the context of the crew.
If we are going to ask on what level should the new crew-members be, I think Jimbei is a nice measuring stick for pure fighting capabilities.
