@CrazyMerlyn:
I don't remember seeing anything like that. The buildings are falling. Maybe a little rubble is dragged along but that' pretty much it.
How is that plot convenience?
Okay, second row, first panel on the left.
!
Do you see the art accompanying the comment? No matter how I look at it, this seems to imply that the ruins we see in it are being pushed towards the center. It is by no means an insignificant amount of rubble. This is why I founded it to be plot convenience.
@CrazyMerlyn:
Zoro is not alone. He will do it along with two Samurais from Wano.
Hmm? Oh, you misunderstood. The cage already has stupidly generous time limit, if it can be furthemore stopped, it will just evaporate any tension what so ever. And Zoro doing it, even if he has help, just would serve to annoy me further.
Heh, though there is one way this scene could play out that I would enjoy… if only because of personal bias.
@CrazyMerlyn:
Ah, one random mook was healed of a few bruises. "Established".
Yes. It was first usage of the power, and it was instantenous. This is what establishing shot is.
Sigh I sometimes feel like like the benefit of doubt in case of One Piece means "Let's justify everything retroactively".
@CrazyMerlyn:
It was specifically mentioned by Law how the top tier people have done nothing but wait for a new era since Whitebeard's death.
I think this time it will be different but that's just me being optimistic.
Why Doflamingo, though?
You know, if some massive changes actually start to happen because of him falling, it would be even more confusing. Sakazuki goes on massive power-build up, and does nothing. Yonkou are all gathering strenght, and do nothing. Blackbeard becomes a Yonkou, and hunts some undisclosed devil fruit users, who die off-screen. Supernovas enter skirmishes with Yonkou, and do nothing.
It really does not seem like Doflamingo falling is a thing that should break this stalemate. Who is he, when compared to Whitebeard and Sengoku? It honestly feels as a setup for another plot convenience; important things can't happen while Straw Hats are away, therefore nothing will happen. But we need some justification for it… so it will turn up that Doffy is the most influential pirate on the entire planet, with his defeat being of more consequence than Yonkou falling down.
Meh. I will wait till I see what Oda has planned, but I don't really like what has been presented thus far.
@CrazyMerlyn:
I guess people are split on the art. I like the overall goofy design. No real need for new powers to maintain the same face especially if he is made of rubber.
I don't say the design is bad, but I feel it is… what's the word... unsettling? I'm not sure. It feels off, and makes me not really like it that much.
@CrazyMerlyn:
This is bothering me too. But I guess I will wait till it is explained properly.
But wasn't it already? He uses haki to harden his body, therefore increasing it's elasticity.
It is vulcanisation, but with magic and will, instead of logic.
How convenient that CoA, ability said to create invisible armor around the user, posesses a variant that is all but specificaly tailored to Luffy's Devil Fruit powers. That was specificaly invented during timeskip, and never hinted at existing beforehand.
Just imagine if the magical powers of will were unavailable, he would come up with something clever instead. Alas, no worries, Haki is here.
@CrazyMerlyn:
I am not sure is that was geppo. he didn't name it. It might be some kind of spring action along with lighter than air body. Fits pretty well with the gear.
Neither did he named G2 Soru.
The principal is similar enough for me to be slightly bothered by it

@Sesshy:
We don't know if Fujitora is exerting extra force on that meteor making it the meteor's own force pressing into an object that it can't destroy forcing it to break into pieces.
I'm sorry. I have no idea what you mean by that.
@Sesshy:
If I drop a watermelon from a large height onto a blade and it slices it, it doesn't mean the same blade will cut through a cherry if it slowly pushes it along the ground. o_o
As a man in possession of blades, I feel obligated to point out that it will.
Just saying.
