The fillers aren't as good as they used to be if you ask me.
But, you might enjoy the recent filler with brook. I hadn't seen the anime in a long time either and when I saw it I was refilled with One piece joy. It was kinda magical too since I had been kinda depressed with recent turns of my life but after watching that episode I became extremely happy.

But they did kill the brook jokes by spamming 'em. And that's a big no no.

Probably not as much as they're liking it over there in japan. TVXQ, big boy band liked in basically all of Asia, singing We are, the representation of the current Shonen Jump big gun, is like a gigantic fan-service for them in general.

I would have liked some Supernova smexyness but it seems they don't care for spoilers anymore. In our last opening all we got was a Moria group picture and some Brooke service. It looks like all they care about now is service. And the Supernovas didn't really create a big enough bang like Brooke did to consider putting 'em in as a service. That or they're just lazy.

I was just going crazy at how surprising this all is. I was so expecting Nami to bring Sunny around and they all jumped and left since Nami wasn't in any of the later half of the last chapter. But instead this. Oda is just freaking awesome.

I believe Kuma is helping everyone out though. When I saw that Brook was teleported and then the rest followed I was just…. so the whole crew is going to disappear from infront of an admiral, bunch of cyborgs, and Vegapunks bodyguards. But what helps it even more is that, I just saw episode 368 of the anime. (Were Kuma first gets on TB) Perona says she wants to eascape, she tells Kuma were she would like to go, and Kuma makes her disappear with out even hurting her first. (By the way, Pandaman is in the background in this episode mixed with the zombies)

Kuma just does things how he wants to. And he really likes the SHs. And with Reylaigh talking to Kuma and his reaction being pretty calm. I believe they're safe.

Oh and, "AWWW LUFFY~ It's ok mang, we all fuck up sometimes. And this time it was out of your power." Is what I would tell Luffy.

But I still believe that because One Piece, instead of focusing on training montages and fighting each battle for a title, is different because there's none of that. They mysteriously get stronger and fight for survival. This let's us focus more on the adventure and the actual morals of the characters. Being king of the pirates makes you the best sure. But after what Luffy just said, you can't honestly say Luffy wants to be king to be the best. Please think about it before you respond again because I don't check on this forum as often as I want to.

They both have a certain magic. The original art, SBS, Title page-side stories, and the color spread are the manga's magic for me.
While the Anime has, a great cast of Seiyuu, seeing the character come to life, and a great Soundtrack. (Not to Mention the movies)

They also, both have cons. The Anime has fillers and (added recently) extended Scenes and recap. While the manga… well as far as manga goes it's perfect. But for me, If I only stuck to the manga I'd probably wont have the same feelings for One Piece i have now.

I myself enjoy the fillers. After witnessing the horror of other anime fillers, you will come to notice that the people who write the fillers for One Piece are probably fans themselfs, are funny as hell, and are dedicated to the show.
Until recently I loved the anime more then anything but the extended scenes make an episode only a chapter or two worth of new material and watching the same frames being re-used all the gets boring. I wish it would go back to how it was before Skypeia =(

Dude, Luffy's goal is cliche to be the best pirate period. He will be at the top of the main theme of one piece...PIRATES.

You obviously don't pay attention. As the last chapter clearly stated. Luffy just wants freedom, adventure, and to fulfill his promise. Being the best Pirate just happens to come along the way. If he really wanted to be Pirate King right away and be ahead of everyone he would of let the old man tell him if One Piece was really there and what it was. But he didn't, why? He wants adventure.

Comparing One Piece to to other big Shonen gets you no were. Dragon Ball, Bleach, and naruto are very alike sure. But One Piece has only basic shonen elements in common. Like undying will and a very hungry main character.
It's the biggest reason why One Piece is not popular with most people who like big shonen. Also the same reason why a wholed lot of One Piece heads think Naruto and Bleach are retarted.

Closes thing to first mate in the Straw Hat pirates is Nami. She takes charge a hell lot more then the others. I think Oda intentionally leaves 'em all pretty much independent and equal in status on porpuse. So a first mate, even if it was said somewere, in the SH pirates is just ridiculous. Or atleast in my opinion.

And the thing with Sanji coming to Luffy's aid, he was just at the right place at the right time. He doesn't need a "high rank" to help his captain.

Being that he has the highest bounty aside from luffy and and being the first to join, first mate comes to mind. So call him that if you want but he doesn't do the first mate job of keeping the men in chech and relaying the captians orders lol. I love One Piece.

My mom loves that I watch it. Anime in general really. She see's that anime is inspiring and has life lessons in it. She likes to watch One Piece with me if I ever watch it.

I think it's just the current situation, but Kuma looks like more of a threat.
His Power and strength also contribute more then Moria's does in a straight out fight. Moria can't always have his Zombie army and even in his power house form Kuma might still be able to pull something.

Edit: And on regards to the Sanji and Zoro thing, I'll stick to Oda's answer in the SBS were he get's offended if you even mention stuff like that. Keep 'em equal guys. Zoro does get the stronger baddies, but he is always mortally wounded and it's a struggling battle. As were Sanji fights his guy (a good equal or just one sided fight) then he gets back up to do his important Sanji work he always does. When I say Sanji work I mean the things he learn that eventually help the crew.

Though I've already appreciated Oda for all his hard work, reading about the SBS made me appreciate him more. He really puts in his back bone for us. I love him =3

Y'know, Oda might have already gotten rid of the whole Water Logia thing in Movie 2. He may not write the movie story, but he does oversees it. If he was going to use the Mizu mizu no mi then he wouldn't have let Queen B use it.

Pirates are those who live free from the rules of society. Other then that, they do what they want. They don't have to be complete asses to prove they're pirates. Also, the strawhats do enough pirate things anyways. All they're missing are just the negatives of a stereotypical pirate.

Luffy trust issues was already solved so I'll give my two cents on the whole Zoro thing.

Zoro attacked Nami with out any remorse because
1. Yosaku said it so to him it had to be true
2. It's mutany
3. He doesn't have as much history with her (and the crew) as he does now. If this were to happen again he would do things diffrently
And 4. He thought of her as a lecherous woman. Which he still thinks.

If Luffy were to OHKO Jimbei then nobody will ever take the Shichibukai seriousy ever again.

The One Hit KOs are reserved for the people who consider themself really powerful when infact they have a long way to go if they want to match up to someone like a General, Shichibukai, and Emperor.

I've enjoyed this arc alot. Brooke being a main reason. I'd love for him to join. I was at a low when this arc began because of certain life issues. But all the jokes and shichibukai talk brought me up again.

I actually don't think that Luffy deserves a bounty of 300 million in terms of strength or actual threat.

I was really suprised his bounty tripled. I just cant see him matching up with Kuma or Don yet even if their bounties are 'frozen'

I think a big percentage of Luffys bounty came from taking down Enies Lobby right and stating war on the WG. However that was not his main goal, his main goal was to save Robin and declaring war on the WG was a "side effect" really. Unlike many of other pirates and pirates with high bounties, he dosent have any goals to attack or interfere with the WG just to become PK.

What I mean is that although he has that bounty, he still has ways to go to prove that he DESERVES that bounty.

I think Luffy deserves it 100%. It's not like they gave him a bounty out of nowere. His bounty is stacked up with all the other things he has done.It tripple because he obviously is a bigger threat to be able to survive a buster call and take down the CP9. Especially considering how powerful Lucci is. lets not forget that he also announced war against the world government. If such a powerful person says something like that then they're not going to take it lightly.

Since Luffy is strong as fuck with out his Rubberness and since Being flattened isn't really that big a deal for someone made of rubber. I see no handicapes in a Luffy vs. BlackBeard fight.
Also I believe this fight is conlcuded. I don't know why we're speculating that it isn't.

I think Mihawk can beat down a Logia. Unless that Logia user is an all around better fighter. Logias gives you an edge but if their weakness is exposed it's almost useless. Mihawk isn't stupid. You can't be that skilled in swordsmanship and not figure out that water puts out fire or that fire melts ice. I think Logias aren't that great unless the user is awsome. If not it's just a great defense that's it.

Yea I think Mihawk is stronger. Do I think he's alot stronger? No Do I think it's because of the arm? No I just think since they rivaled each other fairly even strength. But Mihawk does have the title.

He lended up liking the guy with the whole "It's shameful to be sliced in the back." And the the whole idea of accepting his defeat.
And also seeing that his katana didn't break. If that Wadou Ichimonji didn't break that could mean it can be as strong as the Black sword. Why waste such a good Katana? (You can't really take away a Meitou from it's owner. Every swordsman knows this.)

There is a big flaw to this. Mihawk is recognize as the strongest Swordsman as a Pirate. Not a marine. The world government does not spread the word that he's the greatest. The people do because he's recognized as the best.

Not to bash this theory. But I can't find myself to agree. Since the Mugiwara crews theme is "Help him become Pirate King while working on my own ambition" I've like One Piece to end with everyone getting their own seperate dreams come true. To me it would be boring and wrong to see that Robins dream alll along was One Piece. Luffys original dream. It's as if Oda got lazy. =/

A thought came to mind, Since Shanks and Mihawk were rivals then it's most likely Shanks was a mainstream swordsman or mostly used swords. How have I come to this theory? If Mihawk is the worlds greatest Swordsman then don't you think he'd only spar with people who use swords?
With this and the Yankou ideas in my head I can draw up that Shanks is still able to rival Mihawk or, because Mihawk still owns the title of greatest swordsman, Shanks is just underneath him.
