Well we know whitebeard said that in 434 and he didn't specify who gave him that wound but it could be someone from roger's ship,including of course roger, or mihawk cuz these are the only people that are higly connected to shanks (his nakama is excluded cuz they are weaker than shanks)

if it was roger whitebeard would have stated it so i think he didn't do the wound

since luffy always fights the strongest enemy and zoro the second strongest it is obvious that in the end it will be luffy vs whitebeard (that is like luffy is defeating roger since they were equal) and zoro vs mihawk and i think that "tells" who is the second strongest man

so to me he is the only one that could make that kind of huge wound to whitebeard and still be alive

It should be BB then. And shanks was fully covered in clothes. No visible body parts exept hands and head, leave alone scars.

Nah, if it would be Teach, Whitebeard wouldn´t sent Ace after him but hunt him down himself. If Newgate is the man he says he is then he doesn´t send out others for such a personal matter. Especially not if the one has to power to cause serious wounds to the strongest man in the world.

Besides if it would have been Teach, then Shanks doesn´t have to tell Whitebeard about how dangerous he is because Newgate would already know that himself.

My personal guess is that it is in fact Roger who hurt Whitebeard. Would suit the Pirate King to be the one to leave injur a guy like Whitebeard in a way that the wound even after 22 didn´t heal. That is, if Whitebeards current state is thanks to the wound. ;)

Guh? I thought it was pretty obvious that WB was referring to Roger giving him that wound. Seeing Shanks reminded WB of Roger since Shanks was on Roger's crew, and since he was reminded of Roger his wound ached because Roger gave him the wound.

BB killed one of his nakama,i doubt he could touch whitebeard and whitebeard didn't know how strong he was since shanks explained it to him

also the time shanks talked about BB's power,he introduced his scar's creator
and whitebeard didn't seem to know that BB made the scar

and when he tore shank's letter he knew shanks wanted to talk about BB cuz shank's letter was sent after a little time since BB's betrayal (acknowledging ace left as a pirate 2 years before luffy and when BB betrayed them he was already 2nd division captain)

Well it´s not a secret to Shanks who caused the scar, it´s a secret to us. So from a storytellers point of view it might be that the dialog would insult the intelligence of the reader if literally everything needs to be given a name just to go sure that the reader understands it.

Anyways, it´s just a personal feeling. Don´t put too much weight to my words. I´ve been wrong before very often and it most definitely will happen again.
