Kiku is playing the same instrument as the person (possibly Hiyori) who closes and opens each act.
Kawamatsu was a "demon" at 1 point. Now he's a "kappa"? He was a fishman before he was fully shown imo and still possibly is until confirmed.
The One Piece is meat. Luffy might cry when he finds out
No one has a more eldritch backstory than Kanjuro.
Edit: Imagine if Bakkin is the one to the right on that last page.
Death(s) in the crew or whatever it takes to make the story great. I'm here for it. I love that spirit. Maybe something Kaido and Linlin have an inkling of from Xebec's mission to be king is connected to what the OP is. Or the Poneglyphs from Wano and Totland is finally read. Also, with Tenguyama knowing about cursed swords an their origins, maybe he can expound on kairoseki, PGs, DFs (has an object that took in a DF), Kokeshi dolls, etc. Or even information from Zunisha. Then there's whatever Teach is going after, plus what VP created, the Sabo and Nefertari issues. These are the only things that come to mind that can possibly link to the understanding of One Piece. Rayleigh compared the PK crew to Ohara in a sense. Maybe what happened in Wano is similar to the Ancient history.
Edit:[
T](
)his is interesting.
"Heishi didn't mention 5 years, More like One Piece reaching 50% of it's story. I doubt anyone besides Oda knows, but that's another Four (5 Years) till the end. Kinda contradicting about Wano Ending. It's a feat if Oda compresses 900 chapters into 5 years. Maybe Five in One Piece years."
As I said b4, I don't take what is said or translated that seriously. Especially with some translating differently and the history of even editors and Oda himself having estimations that don't come true a lot. I do find the "50%" opinion (if this is what was said) interesting because most are saying 80%. I disagree with both because percentages are weird without context. I feel that accurate percentages can only be seen when the story is over.
Edit 2: Watching people argue over who translated something correctly is entertaining. There are people that treat what they translate as fact in manga discussion and don't consider that even a translator can be wrong. They use the "this person actually knows Japanese" tactic and it humors me.
You seriously call her recent fight with Houken awesome? And she's totally been useless since that arc. So are Mouten and Ouhon yet they get lots of relevant screen time unlike fodder kill kyoukai.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Well Hara doesn't think so considering how he treats their characters.
Big picture: Zhao generals killed on panel by Kyou Kai beats Mou Ten. She is like Shin's #2. She's been shown to almost keep up with Ou Sen's strategy
I personally want more En moments, but i'm not gonna say that Hara is mistreating him. The arc isn't over and i've seen enough of him when it comes to a supporting character.
I think Kyou Kai is a general that is up there with Mou Ten, Ou Hon and Shin
As usual, I don't take these comments or at least what is being translated, seriously. I still stand by the thought that this Saga is an introduction to the lesser known Yonko (BM and Kaido) and after this, the pace slows down and the crew returns to conflicts and enemies that are more of their level(might be the incorrect term to use here). It's the Yonko Saga, so we're suppose to feel like there's not a lot left, but I don't think Oda can end it shortly after just formerly introducing them. I can't put a percentage or ending year on the series, as usual. Just think anything before 2024 makes no sense. Lastly, I doubt Wano ends in 2020.
From my understanding, Law and Ace are individuals who are close to the crew, but still had story to be told. At first, I thought Bonney, but there's no connection to the crew. Then I thought Hancock, but that felt off with the accessories in the clue. Vivi or Nami. Vivi isn't really high maintenance tho, so most likely Nami, if it's 1 of them.
Where was this convo? I imagine that if he has executives in the crew, it would include literally all of them.
Recently, all over Twitter and in the past spoiler and chapter threads. Not this chapter thread tho.
The Strawhats are different from most crews, I agree with that last part. If it came down to three that has been talked about, I can't see it not being Usopp, Sanji and Zoro
Chopper's senses, Usopp, Luffy, Jinbei, Zoro and Sanji's CoO
I remember loving Brook, Chopper and Luffy in that armor. For a volume cover, I don't like it. Especially with those 4 just plastered in the background. Feels sloppy
I will always find it weird when people brag about sales or even care for it, in regards to art. I see it among rap, manga, movies, etc communities. If I listen to an album and it's trash, what amount of units sold can make me like it all of a sudden? Or if a sports manga sells a lot, do I automatically want to try it out now? If I like a movie, can a reviewer or box office sale make me feel differently? It's all marketing that only people with low self esteem for what they like, fall for. "Look, this sells well, so it's good". "Oh really, I guess it is, since it sells well".
The barometer for quality, from the perspective of an individual that lacks confidence, will always come down to something that has nothing to do with art itself. Imagine disliking a manga, then changing your mind on it when a reviewer says it's good, sales go up or a committee gives it an award. It all goes back to low self esteem and not having your own taste. Maybe it's just me, but I find having your own opinion as 1 of the easiest things to have.
Great read, I love essays, but it was unnecessary imo. I got what he meant the first time. I disagree with him. Some of these Marvel stans are taking it to the next level and proving some of his points right, but overall he is incorrect and he knows it.
Seen some colloquy about who is and isn't Luffy's "executive" recently. If there are any execs in this crew, it shouldn't be a question on this forum. Apropos, where they are walking to, is the eponym for this forum.
Does Katakuri keep that black hat for the day he meets Luffy again?
Did Orochi invite Kaido to Wano? Or did Kaido invade Wano and Orochi sided with him? If Orochi is the reason why Kaido is in Wano, then he is more important than I thought he was.
I think Kaido knew of Oden from being on Roger's crew. Being the younger guys on their respective crews, they could've been rivals during that time, but we'll have to wait and see. This current flashback was 3 years before the God Valley Incident
Both in the same volume
D: I know this is sudden, but I have a question for Odacchi.
Why is it that there is an abnormally extensive number of characters in One Piece who have unknown or already deceased mothers? P.N. Navy Blue
O: I see. Well. The answer is simple.
That's because "Mother" is the antonym for "Adventure".
*Please don't write that on a test
D: We realized that Robin has huge breasts.
We checked from the side, and Nami also has huge breasts.
Why do they both have such huge breasts?
And could it be Oda-san's preference?
That was a question from us two 10-year-olds. P.N. Sakucchan & Yuzu-chan
O: I keep saying this, but I'm just bringing the young boys' dreams to life! All of humanity on earth! I command your breasts to grow~!
If you are expecting the live action to follow the Manga story to a tee, you'll be sadly mistaken.
I'd be surprised if they follow much of it, aside from the basics
I'd prefer they didn't follow to the tee. That wouldn't be a great adaptation. I'm more worried about certain aspects of the story being changed and more so, how it'll be changed. If Gaimon is cut out, I wouldn't go crazy. Or like when Nami is introduced, I wouldn't go crazy if it's later than she was in the manga. So many moving parts of the story can be altered and still be enjoyable.
Now that I think about it. A live action version of the Hungry Days collab wouldn't be horrible. Maybe the only slice of life that I can tolerate.
I'm more interested in getting answers tied to the current events, but the derision for how Oda handles the admiration Oden gets is hilarious.
Those in charge of that live action show are probably reading and/or watching One Piece before they start doing anything. I would hope so at least. I have no proof, but I doubt those in charge were fans beforehand. Gut feeling, but whatever. Worst case scenario, they are wiki readers. If this is true, it's karma from when I used spark notes for 70% of HS.
Talked about it too many times, but…
I know what most start off with is "CGI and how it'll look", but before they even get there, what will the story be like. All the money in the world for a good looking One Piece live action series can't cover up a shitty adaptation. That Dragon Ball writer's comment always comes back to mind when I think of any live action adaptation for anime. I'm aware that the difference is Oda is involved, but many mangaka have been shown to be too generous in my opinion. From my point of view, they are vocal, but too kind and humble at times. Manga and anime are in a way better place today, but are still not respected that much in entertainment imo. Especially with so many cartoons trying to use the "anime" tag to market, while actual anime don't get the same marketing.
Those in charge should make AP forum or some other OP related community accounts, read OP and take their time. Even then that wouldn't be enough, but it's a great start.
I'm not sure if Sanji would have it. I mean, he was a prince which could potentially be a king. Sanji is a real stretch.
For Zoro it's very likely, we have seen people like Katakuri, Rayleigh who were first mates with CoC, so I can definitely see Zoro with it.
Then there's Oden
Are you talking about this scene?
Yes, you got it. I'm 1 of 1 that thinks Sanji and Zoro were born with CoC. That i'm aware of at least
Sanji seem to have a feeling that Luffy had CoC b4 he showed it. Are Haki users able to sense CoC within others? Is this just due to the news or stories told by Ivan? Does Sanji have it as well?
Off. trans - The color of the Supreme King. I knew he had it in him.
Sanji is a bird. Represents Sora and Garuda
Mountain Gods are commanded by Momo and Tama to attack the mass amount of numbers of the Orochi/Kaido faction
Enma makes the cover and maybe the Scabbards and Orochi. Hiyori and i'll have to wait on the next 5-6 chapters to add more possibilities because Oden looks like a lock
Wait, hold on. Imagine Oden and the Scabbards surrounding him on the cover, but the flashback versions of everyone. Still not sure on the flashback character/Izo/Kiku situation. Maybe it was Kiku, maybe it was Izo or neither.
@K.:
This has been implied throughout the series. Rayleigh explicitly stated that no one in their crew knew how to read the poneglyphs. That Roger could "hear voices".
I am wrong for questioning this, you're right. Agreed, Rayleigh does note this. Between what BM said and Luffy not being able to command Zunisha or the Sea Kings, the abilities definitely vary.
Tama or Momo possibly not joining has nothing to do with power levels for me.
@K.:
The technique that Momo did not learn was the carving of the poneglyphs. There could be a Poneglyph which Robin could translate for Momo. But at this point Momo having the voice of all things bypasses the need of a translator. In factor, Oden could very easily have left a message for Momo and the latter gets to hear his father and potentially mother's voice on last time.
I do not think there is any need for the last crew member to be a fighter. In fact, that type of struggle has room to be very interesting. Something like Yahiko in Rurouni Kenshin during the last arc of the manga.
Is this based on what Linlin said? That can be interpreted another way. Idk if this is a confirmed VOAT ability
I doubt Kuma can send everyone away like that
They struggled against damn Foxy too.
And yes, they're up against Yonkoy now, the biggest fish in the entire Grand Line to defeat.
The struggle against Foxy is clearly different than the struggle against Doffy or the Yonkos. Foxy didn't require multiple crews and/or organizations for assistance.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
1. SH lack token fishman.
Wano will be one of the events in the tilt in power. Luffy is going up against tougher and tougher opponents so his Haki is going to get stronger and stronger. Awakening will probably come along soon. Luffy is increasing in strength rapidly.
Katakuri was the one to build his obvservation haki, now Kaido will be the one to help him build a strong armament haki.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I thought this was obvious when Whitebeard said once the treasure is found the whole world will be in chaos.
Very much true. Hope awakening is soon

Yeah, point proven. Reaching Raftel/becoming PK isn't the end all be all
It is enough to realize the series is near its end.
Is just the lenght of the arcs and the slow publishing that may confuse you.
But as of right now, the series is in the Endgame.
If this is the Endgame, why are the SH crew struggling against Yonko? They're almost outnumbered and out of their depth against Kaido and last arc, Linlin. Just to leave Totland, they had to leave a crew member behind. Still learning about Haki and DF applications. It's clear that the crew still has to grow and learn. Maybe this Yonko Saga has confused you because we're getting acquainted with the 2 lesser known Yonko so quickly. Ironically, these Yonko crews are displaying how much the crew isn't ready and that goes back to what Rayleigh said about them pacing themselves.
In terms of Luffy becoming the Pirate King, that is enough for him. He is the Pirate King. That's Luffys goal and he will achieve it.
Luffys hate for the world government and celestial dragons has been built up over the years and for Luffy to achieve "freedom" he will find a reason to take down the World Government after becoming Pirate King.
I'm not debating what is enough for Luffy. The topic was initiated over what needs to be done to end the story. What Rayleigh said is that they went too quick, then said that the SH crew should pace themselves.
Idk if it's about taking down the WG. There are implications of the WG being in the way of Pirates like Shanks is in the way, but using gruesome tactics. So are they truly the "big bad" or are they against the "big bad"?
Rayleigh answered to something Robin asked.
To become the PK, you only need to reach Laugh Tale.
Becoming the PK isn't enough is what I said, not that having 4 Rio PGs isn't enough to become PK. There's a reason why the WG doesn't want people to know the history. Being PK wasn't enough and I even further ilustrated what I said by noting with Rayleigh comparing his crew to those of Ohara in that aspect
That was in response to YOUR OWN statement.
smh
Either way, what Rayleigh said still holds true. You said that they are one PG away from becoming the PK crew, yet Rayleigh is implying that even that isn't enough
Rayleigh said even tho Roger became PK, they still failed in some capacity, but you're making this about if Luffy wanted to know or not, which dismisses the most crucial part of what Rayleigh said
Well, she´s definitely NOT going to travel the entire world before the series end, but she´s succesfully going to be the first one to map Laugh Tale, beating every other cartographer in the world.
1. She doesn't have to go everywhere to map the world, but she has been around enough at the same time.
2. Another crew has already visited Raftel. Doubt she'll be the 1st to map itSome are about the Ancient Weapons of what Robin has no interest, so NOT all those others will be found and read.
She's read PGs that she has no interest before. She doesn't pick and choose which PG she wants to read. Are you implying that Oda only enters PGs that Robin cares about because that is already proven not to be the case.
Interestingly enough, neither of Sanji and Zoro care about their linage tho. but a Suit and a Sword had they full attention.
You're still making it about the power up, when it was really about their non power level related growth for Sanji and Zoro. Development isn't one dimensional here.
No confirmation of having to visit each locations either, it´s being said each RP has a location, not that they need to be visited or anything else.
because we don´t have a clue of what locations could those be, it could very well be some places the SH´s have already been to, making it more clear that we are indeed, in the end of the series. My point proven.
Problem is, first Luffy doesn´t want to simply ask to begin with.
and secondly, you become PK by reaching Laugh Tale, and Luffy will be one square-stone away from doing so after Wano. It's not about if Luffy wants to ask. Rayleigh implies that there is more to knowing the history. Are they adroit when it comes to this.
Maybe we all tried too fast - Rayleigh
The Roger Pirates reached Raftel and Rayleigh still considers them as failures in some capacity because he compared them to those of Ohara.
Not sure where you get this from, it seems logical that several dreams are going to be reached right in Laugh Tale.
For example, Sanji, Usopp and Chopper's dreams are very much possible in Raftel. Is mapping the whole world for Nami the same?
That´s literally her job.
Are all of the Poneglyphs bunched up like how Kaido has 3, BM has 3, etc? This is important because most of the PG read by Robin, shown in story, have been by themselves. There are 26 non Rio PGs. By the end of this arc, Robin and the crew would've read or at least obtained the text for 9 out of that 26. That means 17 left.
Usopp awekened massive Observation Haki and Nami aquired Storm(from the X-men) like powers, so yeah not only Sanji and Zoro.
Usopp gaining an ability isn't the same development as Zoro learning about the history of Wano (and possibly his village), the onus when it comes to a Samurai (which is more than swinging a sword), and the most important which has been implied throughout this arc, being the Vice Captain. Or even Sanji's development in being a cook compared to a warrior. Usopp braving it out in Dressrosa had focus, but it's not even comparable to Zoro and Sanji in Wano and WCI arcs. Especially how you narrowed it down to abilities instead of actual growth towards their dream. I don't even have to go into Nami gaining Zeus because that's even further away from Usopp's development and no where near Zoro and Sanji's kind of development.
it's never been stated that they must visit each location, even tho there´s a chance that they already visited some, and even if they had to see each location for some reason, there´s a Fleet to do so.
And, I never said they have to for that very same reason. I'm questioning if you're sure that they don't need anything outside of where those 4 locations are, to map out where Raftel is. You implied that there is nothing else outside of reading the Rio PGs and Nami figuring it out. With no confirmation of this from the story, how are you so sure of this?
uuh? you know the point of visiting each location?
Having three Road Poneglyphs does put Luffy in an almost-Pirate King status. that´s what Dr Strange would call; The Endgame.
This goes back to what Rayleigh said about having all of the info, but not being ready to deal with it. If you are correct, then they could visit Rayleigh after this and get the location right now. This crew is obviously not ready yet. I'll take Rayleigh's words over Stephens'.
eheem, maybe the fact that by the end of Wano, Luffy will be just ONE Road Poneglyph away from the One Piece, and has a Grand Fleet to search for it.
Elbaf can't hide the Last Road Poneglyph, Uranus and the The Adam Tree all in one place, there´s still one admiral and Vegapunk to be introduced and there seems to be some business in the Moon, so yeah, plenty of stuff to cover still, but after Wano BB won't be sitting his ass anymore. I give it two more islands before Laugh Tale and a visit to Mariejoies, mostly cause down there is Gyojin Island and Luffy still has to destroy it for some reason.
So they're going to reach Raftel before dreams come true? There's no way Robin reads all of the other historical text in your proposed situation. Is it only Sanji and Zoro that are addressed in arcs for development purposes? Is it straightforward where they don't have to go to all 4 locations to know where Raftel is and Nami can just easily map it out?
What you're saying basically means all of this is straightforward and there's no point in going to the 4 locations, developing SH members, reaching every dream, plus more.
I'm almost certain there's at least one island we'll be visiting that hasn't been set up for years. It won't be just Elbaf-Raftel-Final war, there's gotta be SOMETHING else, some sort of surprise. If that's the newly revealed God Island or something else, I dunno. But a surprise character with a surprise theme from a surprise island is absolutely Oda's style.
Forgot which thread it was, but there was this dope convo on why many believe that this "Elbaf-Raftel-Final" sequence is the end all be all. Actually i've disagreed with this, "OP is almost over" and the percentages for years. Unless there's fatigue from reading weekly, nervousness over Oda's health, or a misunderstanding of how the story's been flowing lately/plot points left, I don't understand what else can make someone think Luffy and the crew are close to the end of the story.
Even if you use Shanks and Roger as some measurement. Rocks was defeated 12 years before Roger reached Raftel (might be inaccurate here) and Roger was an established Pirate before that. Lets say the SH are just faster than this in development as a crew and reaching their dreams. It'd take 7-10 years at least. They've been doing this for almost 3 years. Forget in story time because that is nothing compared to the actual plot points covered because I think that is the real barometer here.

What us as fans see as better for the series and what route Oda decides to go in, don't hand in hand a lot. So, whether Law is around or not after this, idk. Based on Law being the Vivi of this road to Kaido, it's highly possible that he's done, but with this recent surge of D. clan business and Law's post Doffy agenda (his own path and what does D mean), there's a chance that his tenure isn't discontinued.
Apropos, if this batch of Supernova take down Kaido, they could be this era's version of the Marines and Roger Pirates. Going their separate ways and being a 1 off makes more sense, but Law sticking with the SH crew is also a possibility. If he survives this of course lol
Law didn't take lava to the skin or punch BM off the Sunny. Jinbei wins this 1. Law is just riding the SH's wave rn
Until Law tells the crew his whole name and/or dies for the crew, Jinbei>>>Freeloader Law
Shishilian or Sicilian?
Also Neko and Jinbei being brought up around the same time leads me to believe that they will definitely be late to this chaos.
I would like an update on how Kid and Killer are unsuccessfully getting things done
