I just read three knew chapters from three series I am caught up with. Fairy Tail, HSDK and Magi. I am seriously thinking about dropping Fairy Tail now. Why even waste my time? Kenichi is fun and Magi is great, FT is just frustrating.

RE: Chopper's forms
umm…can anyone post me the link to that old thread where people would quote the best quote in a given One Piece chapter and the person below them would post the best quote from the next chapter? I can't find it.

RE: *OFFICIAL* Tennis discussion thread
Nadal just pulled out of the US open yesterday. I am not his biggest fan but he is a fantastic player, he is great for tennis and I truly hope this is nothing serious and that he returns healthy and ready as soon as possible. He hasn't played since losing Wimbledon early. He is still young but this is worrisome.

RE: Sensei No Bulge (Bulge of the Battle Star/Barrage)
umm….Amazing art this chapter (as usual I suppose).
! …the twist was a little weak though.

RE: Magi
Caught up. Fuck yes! This series! Fuck yes! I happily place this on the very top tier of adventure manga that I've read. Fantastic series. Somehow it has storytelling sensibilities that remind me of Fullmetal Alchemist (another of my top tier adventure shonens). Interestingly both mangaka are females. Can anyone tell me why this series isn't scanlated weekly? Also, why hasn't this been released in English yet? Is it just not very popular?

RE: Magi
60 chapters in. Really loving this sereis. After plowing threw almost 300 chapters of Fairy Tail I almost forgot what it was like to love a series. Thanks to Magi for reminding me.

boo yea!
Feel bad for Fed but I have always liked Andy.

RE: Sensei No Bulge (Bulge of the Battle Star/Barrage)
Does anyone get the feeling that Bulge would have done better at WSM instead of Jump? I don't know a lot about how these things work but (as I just caught up with the thoroughly underwhelming Fairy Tail) I get the feeling Bulge could have thrived in another setting with less than stellar (or at least ridiculously popular) competition.
Regardless, I really enjoyed this weeks chapter. Things are getting interesting and Black has the potential to be a stellar villain. Astro was fairly one note as usual but he is still fairy likable. Chinbeard is growing more likable, also, imo. Here is to hoping this arc gets to play out nicely before the axe cometh.

RE: The Viz Media Thread
@CP6:
dam i forgot aboot that, i keeping forgetting thats thriller bark n not sabaody. yea that part was awesome, zolo showed everyong whos bad
waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait…wait...are you saying the arc that you dislike is Sabaody Archipelago? Is so then yes, your opinion differs heavily from the vast majority of this forum. Including mine. But hey, that's not such a bad thing. Variety...spice of life and all that. I personally put the Baratie arc on a much higher pedestal than the average Arlong Park member. [h=3][/h]

RE: The Viz Media Thread
@CP6:
i read vol. 63 over the last week. pretty happy with it. reading other threads however seems the fish-man island arc gets no love, madness
Rumor is it reads better in bulk.

RE: Magi
I seriously doubt I will like it more than HxH (which currently ranks as my number 3 Adventure Shonen ever, behind OP and FMA) but I will definitley catch up with this once I am caught up on Fairy Tail (*sigh). :getlost:

RE: Magi
I've been thinking about catching up with this for awhile. It looks pretty good.
-
RE: Sensei No Bulge (Bulge of the Battle Star/Barrage)
Its seems that I enjoyed this chapter more than the field. I am currently 266 chapters into Fairy Tail and the emotional scene in this chapter was 10 times better than any emotional scene in FT. Maybe FT is just pushing my standards lower but I think for a series that is only 11 chapters long this was a very good chapter. Maybe it is all a bit typical, but it is being done pretty well and i am genuinely enjoying it.

RE: Toriko
I think i might just be getting worried when the power levels get too rediculous Toriko, the series, might begin to lose its charm (i.e. Dragonball)
-
RE: Toriko
I've always been a big supporter in Toriko's over-the-topness but….idk. Maybe it's getting a little too crazy.
-
RE: Sensei No Bulge (Bulge of the Battle Star/Barrage)
This series is getting really good at a startling pace. I never thought the first 10 chapters of Barrage would show the same amount of promise as the first 10 chapters of Zoo but i think i was just prooven wrong.

RE: Why do you like Usopp?(or dislike)
FelRes is saying that Usopp's current fighting ability gives him way to many super convenient moves.

RE: Things in manga/anime you're sick of seeing
Kaze. You must hate HSD Kenichi.
-
RE: What arc did you NOT like?
I know opinions are opinions, but your Fishman Island hate is disappointing AP forums. Reread the arc sometime. I did and now I love it.
Good point, I've always planned to do this once i own all the volumes.

RE: How do i delete my account.
@No:
That's two more then me, but then again my father judges everything by how it looks (whenever I play a Nintendo/Genesis/Snes game he always calls it "playing debile games for three year old children", and he thinks 2 D games are naturaly inferior to 3D by the simple fact of them not being 3 D), my mother has sort of never went anywhere in the last 20 years and her world view reflects that, and my cousin is ten years older and into religion so….
Does your mom use slang like "that's heavy, doc." That would be adorable.

RE: What is your favourite arc?
I went with Sabaody Archipelago because it sounds like it would be the most fun to re-read (of my favorite arcs) at the moment. Other possible choices were Water 7 and Drum.
~Water 7/Enies Lobby should be two separate arcs
~Punk Hazard should not be eligible
~East Blue should be broken into fractions as it had several arcs of varying quality (love the Arlong Park arc, dislike the Kuro arc.) -
RE: What arc did you NOT like?
I have one major complaints about Marineford:
- I never understood why Crocodile symphatized with Luffy to the point of saving Ace and Luffy (twice). It kinda diminishes his perfect image of the sadistic and cruel douchebag.
Well for one we don't know Crocodile's back story so your answer could be there. But another possibility is that Crocodile simply hates the World Government enough that he would do anything and help anybody if it meant putting it to the WG…well, he even said as much.
Maybe Crocodile is like one of those hyper competitive people that once he joins a team (regardless of circumstance or who he is aligned with) he hates the thought of losing and will do anything to win. Just a thought.

RE: Sensei No Bulge (Bulge of the Battle Star/Barrage)
Does Barrage appearing in Alpha give it a better chance of being released in paperback sometime down the road? Is it just all speculation at this point?

Well…I enjoyed this chapter a lot for some reason. It was still basically one long scene but It was quite good.

*OFFICIAL* Tennis discussion thread
I have an obsessive personality and, at the moment, I feel an obsession with tennis coming on. For a few years it's been the only conventional sport that I enjoy playing and now I am slowly watching more and more of it. I haven't ever seen a tennis thread on AP (and couldn't find one) and I figured with the greatest tennis player of all time back on top for the first time in two years (ranked number 1 ~ coming off a huge Wimbledon win) and the Olympics right around the corner this would be a good time to make one. If you just want to talk about technique and could care less about world rankings and past greats feel free. Anything tennis related, really. Hell I love wii tennis to the point that I play it ever single day still, we can chat about that…whatever.
Roger Federer
…here he is being awesome.

RE: Official Manga/Anime Recomendation Thread
Is Hajime No Ippo worth putting time spent, It's a long series and it's starts out good, but I don't want to read a series that will turn to crap near the current translations. Can anyone give me a headsup.
Most people are on the fence when this question is asked. I am caught up with Hajime no Ippo and personally (though I have enjoyed it quite a bit) I think there is manga where your time would be better spent. It isn't bad at all but after a few hundred chapters the overall plot (by that I mean the equivalent of finding the great treasure in One Piece) progresses at such a freaking tortoise like pace it is unbelievable. It is also a well regarded fact of the series that reading it in bulk is fine but reading it weekly is painful (I completely agree with this notion, I am thinking about dropping it and picking it backup every five weeks so that I can read something with just a little bit of meat) Still, there is a good cast and a good amount of boxing fun (I am a boxing fan) so if you just want a series to pass the time (or if you just want to conquer a crazy long series) than I say go for it. But if you have other stuff on your reading list I would not put Ippo in too high of priority.

RE: Taking a Recommendation and Trying to Recommend One Piece
I don't know how I pulled it off but somehow I got my best friend hooked. I didn't even recommend it all that much, I mean I love One Piece more than anything but my friends all have a pretty varied taste in stuff so I wasn't all that confident that any of them would really like it. I had already been into it for a few years and told them bits of how it is here and there but I never pushed the issue or forced the conversation. One day my friend started getting more into anime and sent me a text saying something about how much he loved the first episode of One Piece. In a couple of months he caught up and now it is something we can talk about together.
Funny enough I have another story with another one of my best friends that parallels that one ^^ perfectly…just instead of One Piece it's Doctor Who.
Maybe give them the manga to read instead? If they're busy it's easier to put a 'book' down than a show, and it's easier to come back to. I ended up catching up to the Thriller Bark part of the manga within 2-3 days of reading…
This is ridiculous. How could you even enjoy what you're reading when you move at such a pace? Whenever I re-read the series it takes well over a month (in the area of two months really.) 3 days is madness.
@Don:
…but he always replied it can`t stand black and white(in manga) and he is also kind of loyal to his western comics, lol.
Has to be said. The feud between western comic culture and manga culture is the stupidest thing ever. Sorry, pet peeve.

RE: What arc did you NOT like?
Same deal with Croc, I get that the only reason he survived was because of Robin, but it's like he wasn't affected afterwards at all, and a hook through the chest is like beyond even a 4 ton bat to the face, I feel.
Agreed, but to be fair Luffy did have time to recover/eat meat and Pell was there to help (I am going to assume that Pell has a competent level of medical knowledge and ability) and even then Luffy passed out before his second and third encounters with Crocodile because of his injuries. In my mind that makes his first impaling (Croc) a lot better than his second (Lucci).
-
RE: What arc did you NOT like?
It's funny that the anime pace didn't bother me at all when I was initially catching up with One Piece a couple of years ago. I averaged about 10 episodes a day so it all moved along nicely.

RE: How do i delete my account.
I was so happy when my best friend got an account here. He only ever made one post.

Cute battle, bring it.
