This was definitely one of the worst; still, it had some amazing moments. Basically, certain side stories had unsatisfactory tie ins and tie ups, but overall it didn't ruin the season or anything. It had it's ups and downs.. moments where I thought the rest of the season was gonna tank, then it picked itself back up, then twisted and scared me again, but then saved itself once more. I still get pissed that Dexter let himself get fooled by getting set up initially by LaGuerta. I honestly believe he should have seen that coming, and it was a bit hard to believe after all the shit he knew she knew and had been doing. One thing that I'm very torn on is that on one hand, I LOVE the moment Deb admits her love for Dex.. but hate how all of a sudden by the next episode, the thought is essentially dropped from both of their minds. I do wish next season was the last, but I think they could squeeze another out– but that, by god, better be the last. There's just not much else to see with Dex's character. All we really need to see is maybe see him either find true love finally and secure it, or show us no, that's definitely not gonna happen. Besides that, we need to wrap up Dex's overall character - him coming to terms with who he is and his thoughts on how he's going to live the rest of his life in terms of his dark passenger and Deb.
Just a note... loved seeing Bobby in this season (to all my Supernatural fans out there!) :)
@Silver:
! According to the after episode interview with the Show Runner, that last bit with Deb running to LaGurta after the gun shot was unscripted. They left the camera's on.
! On a side note, I don't really care so much for LaGuerta's death… but I think it was more so done because of convience and to make the fans happy, since that was the number 1 request.
Where did you read that? Let me make sure no one is confused.. it wasn't like a "oops forgot to hit the record button to stop recording. Look at this magical moment we captured!" More accurately, it should be described as that it was improvised by Deb's actress - whether on the spot (most likely, by what you're stating you read), or it was asked to the director and he agreed, essentially "letting the camera continue to role" after the main action of the shot had taken place.
