The PS3 got 3D and Move, but I don't see how anyone would be willing to waste so much money on a fucking Wii HD expansion and a 3D TV, and 3d glasses.
That's why I'm getting the Nintendo 3Ds, no glasses required.

I'm getting it for the games, I don't give a shit if it has 3D or not. I can turn it off, anyway.
So Sony and Microsoft are following Nintendo's league with the expanded audience game.
Anyone have any luck deciphering this?
I like how before the Wii people thought game companies actually didn't want as many people playing their games as possible.
Thank God for Wii.
If it wasn't around we wouldn't have a platform with a few enjoyable titles that came out around launch and a fuckton of shittastic shitty shit that's been spewing out ever since.
True pioneers.
Yeah, God forbid people actually LOOK for games for the console.
In other news, Wii Party has broken the record for most videogame sales ever! Details at your mom.
The Wii? Eh, all I know is that Other M is coming out in less than two weeks and I'm damn looking forward to it.

Pretty much this.
Oh and Kirby, and DKC, and Zelda.
I think that's about it. I need to check the schedule again for upcoming PS3 releases to see if there are any I actually want.
I keep forgetting I even own a Wii. I'm not being funny, I'm serious. This saddens me.
I sold mine, I wasn't really hyped for Other M, DKCR, or Kirby, and while the new Zelda looked fine, I'm sure I can live without it.
What I AM dying for is the 3DS, though. To me Nintendo = handheld champions. Always have been, always will.
I know how you feel. I aint touched mine since Galaxy 2.
Although saying that my PS3 has been little more than a DVD player for the past month or so. If it wasn't for some games (Aside from 3D Dot Game Heroes, Katamari and Demon's Souls) which I can get on the 360 anyways I woulda had mine sold by now.
You have a 360? Or is it a relatives or something

Why you haven't hacked your Wii yet is beyond me. It's not really all that complicated…and seeing as how you don't really use it much (well, that's what I am inferring from your other posts) you might as well put some games on it that you like such as FFVI and Chrono Trigger.
You can still play the other games too, though.
You always try to get people to hack their Wiis, RuNa. Maybe not everyone wants to do that?
Yeah, RuNa. Leave the paying customers alone. (We need them for piracy.)

Hey, I payed for more than 200$ worth of Wii Shop Channel stuff before I hacked it
My computer emulates Wii games perfectly now anyways so I don't play my downloaded games on my actual Wii anyways.
RuNa to be the first to ascend to heaven during the apocalypse for being a good digital citizen.
0:)
Speaking of hacking, what do people here think of this?

I can play Chrono Trigger on my SNES, my computer, my Playstation, my Playstation 2, my DS and yes, even my PSP.
So there's no need to add Wii to the mess.
Wii Party sales = Typical Japanese zombies that will purchase it, play it once during summer vacation and never pick it up again.
That sounds like sarcasm or exaggeration but it's not.
I'm alright with saying I only got the Wii for No More Heroes 1 & 2. But it'd be nice if something else would come out. Everything else is first-party (none of Nintendo's properties interest me), shovelware, and PS2 ports. The Wii really needs some third-party titles. The Wii is $150, I guess you get what you pay for.
Also just remembered this is the Sony thread. Who here is getting the PSP alongside me?

You don't like ANY of the Nintendo properties?! Dude, what's wrong with you? No Zelda? No Metroid? No Mario?
Well, if you want a third party game, the only thing I could recommend is Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World if you're into that. But yeah, Nintendo did kinda shoot itself in the foot with the whole motion control exclusive thing.
Anyway, I plan to get a PSP at some point, but not any time soon.
Might I also add Chocobo's Dungeon and Shiren the Wanderer to the RPG list?
One Sony hit: Ratchet & Clank. There's nothing special design-wise about these games, but holy shit it's the best stuff ever if you just want to jump and shoot. It's like my new Mega Man since Mega Man's been 90% bullshit this decade.
Related: I've finally gotten around to playing A Crack in Time. I'm still kind of mad at Sony for not allowing the name Clock Blockers. So far it's magnificent.

This man speaks the truth.
I still need to get Cracked in Time.

I'm about to die from laughter.
The new Rachet game should be called "Foursome" instead of "All 4 one".
I'm about to die from laughter.
Seriously. That's what Insomniac wanted to name it (they said so on an episode of their podcast), but Sony said no. Basically, they got clockblocked.
I'm seriously leaning towards getting Scott Pilgrim through the PSN. I'm in need of a good multiplayer game that isn't a shooter. While lack of online co-op is a disappointment, sometimes it's just more fun to be in the same room with friends playing on one television screen.
And this will at least tide me over til I buy Castle Crashers a second time. Don't wanna pay for Live just to play that game.

This is awesome to know.
Just read that myself. Didn't blow my mind unfortunately. XD
A mystery is finally revealed.
Am I the only one who laughed at the line 'Wacky Shapes.'
Yeah really.
BWA HAHAHAHA OH MY GOD
TRIANGLES
THATS SO FUCKING HILAROUS!
found this
I was thinking for a minute how O represented 360, then I got it.
I R slow.
Castle Crashers finally comes out on the PSN this week. I bought it for my 360, but now I rarely play it and instead play more PS3. Thinking of buying it again.
Hmm…perhaps I can just have some of them chip in so I can gift it to them.
PSN+ has convinced me to not renew my Xbox Live Gold account and work towards getting a PS3, instead. After MS decided to raise the price for Gold and me finding little incentive to return to the god awful community, I'd rather pay for services that will make me feel like I'm getting my money's worth.
Only reason I would even consider renewing my Gold account is Reach. I'mma renew it for a year with that 30 (40?) dollar deal and after that, I'll just renew it for a month whenever I feel like it.
If it wasn't for that, I would just go for a PS3, with free PSN, not the PSN+ service subscription though.
The thing is, PSN+ feels more like it's worth the cost. Free full games, PSN games, PSOne Classics, DLC and discounts? Yes please. Microsoft would NEVER do that. They've only given really mediocre stuff for free and have even charged on content that's free everywhere else (namely Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2's DLC).
With Gold, they would go on about how I could watch Netflix, use Facebook and Twitter on my 360 as well as group chat; all of that can be done for FREE on the PC. Steam offers group voice chat for free. Facebook and Twitter? All on PC and mobile devices. Netflix streaming? I can do that on my PC for no additional means. The PS3 and Wii can also do it, albeit by disc though the PS3 will be changing that once MS' contract with Netflix ends.
Some people said "Oh, but you get ESPN and TV services like Hulu soon." I say, "so what?" I never used any of the shit mentioned above, save for Netflix. Why would I want to with the others? I don't care for sports, so ESPN means jack shit to me. Hulu wants money for recently aired TV shows? TV's not exactly been very great to watch lately, so that's another one out the door for me. Also means nothing when the shows I do watch have official streams from either their official sites or broadcasting networks' sites and for FREE.
So what was I paying for Live for? Discounts that I barely took advantage of because of MS' retarded points setup always leaving me with an odd total leftover that can't be used for anything. And there was hardly anything available as a discount that I wanted. Last thing I bought was Afterburner HD, and that was due to Sega cutting the price. Online play? I stopped playing most 360 games online, mainly due to the fact that the 360's community is littered with kids that don't know when to shut the hell up and idiots my age that only know how to respond with every racial slur and swear word they know.
Why pay for that when that's free on PSN? Not to mention, Steam's community is far better. And Steam's free, while offering the most amazing discounts on games and DLC, as well as free DLC for Valve games.
Have you followed the deals PSN+ has been getting? With a few exceptions, they throw crap at you. Did I mention that they failed their goal of offering deals every week already? PSN+ updates are becoming monthly.
Oh yeah, they offer plenty of savings that make back your subscription cost, but they're savings on stuff you probably otherwise wouldn't touch. Some gamers like what they're getting, maybe you're one.
I've browse the list every week in the PSN store. Nothing has made me envious so far. I dare say the biggest perk is getting a big golden + on your gamer tag… unless, of course, people find you to be a total tool for having PSN+. I really hope the service doesn't throw some neat features that everyone should have got with all the other crap further down the line to padden the suck.
I'll only point out that you can change your preferences so that you'll automatically have every single player you come into on Xbox Live muted (that isn't, of course, someone you have on your friends list, obviously).
In fact, I haven't had any problems with the community in the last couple of months. I've rarely had my mic on, but every game I've played has had 1 or 2 people with mics on, who aren't even talking. You're exaggerating on the whole "the 360 community sucks" mindset. It does, just isn't as bad as you find it to be.
Also I think its safe to say that the XBLArcade games often beat the PSN games in terms of quality. I shouldn't say this seeing as how I don't own a PS3, but from what I've heard, it's true.
Yeah, a lot of the best looking download-only games wind up being XBLA-exclusives. Also they offer Xbox 1 games, PSN doesn't offer PS2 games, only PS1. That DOES make me envious. But following Sony's track record on PSOne classics, we'd get all the crappy PS2 shovelware and occasionally a great game to perform a combo breaker.
… man, for a life-long Sony fanboy I sure crack their nuts a lot. Guess that makes me one of the sane fanboys?
OMGz bes cunsul EVAR dun evr say NE th1ng bad bout it!!!11one

VERY few Xbox games are available to play on the 360, even worse when some have issues with BC support. Even though PSN doesn't offer PS2 titles, Sony is at least releasing fully updated HD releases of PS2 titles, such as what we saw with God of War 1 and 2, as well as the Sly Cooper series, with more planned to be released.
I never got rid of my original Xbox because the BC was a hassle on the 360, especially when a good chunk of the games on the Xbox aren't playable on the 360. I pointed out that Sony removing BC on the PS3 was a dick move, but at least we're seeing an effort in making the games available again in some manner, rather than just a half-ass release with all of the glitches from BC left in-tact.
I'm a 360 fanboy in terms of only owning a 360, having sold my Wii and not having a PS3, but if I could afford it I'd definitely go out and buy a PS3. I hear they're lowering the price on low-gig Slim models, sounds like a good deal to me.
I do acknowledge that the 360 doesn't have a lot of exclusive games now (ain't that funny how the PS3 got shit for this back then?) and its only actual exclusive games (by that I mean that it's not on PC) that are worth buying/playing are Halo or Gears.
While some might argue and say they're just rehashes, well, we agree to disagree. (Although I find that Gears doesn't differ or progress much in sequels like Halo's main 1, 2, 3, Reach games do) BUT gaming is a very expensive hobby, even more so if you're a 360 gamer. I'm tired of MS' greedy shit attitude and fixing issues that should have been fixed at most A YEAR LATER than when the console actually came out.
Like I said, it it weren't for Reach coming out, I wouldn't even own a 360 right now.
Speaking of fixing issues: They're finally fixing the issue with their controller's D-Pad…except you have to buy a new controller. And it'll cost you more than a new game.
When the hell did controllers get so fucking expensive?
PSN doesn't offer PS2 games,
Yeah, because it can't play them, of course they don't offer them. That extra hardware was upping the system price by 100 bucks so they cut it out early on.
Unless you think the XBox should offer downloads for Gamecube games it can't play?
But there are some games like God of War and Shadow of Collosus that they're re-softwaring to work on the PS2.
Personally, I'm just waiting for Suikoden 2, I can't figure what the holdup is on that one.
@robbybedfart:

They know we want it, but they will never give it to us. They're practically dangling it over our heads and going "Nyah nyah, you can't have this."
Sony could make the PS3 emulate PS2 games with simply downloadable software no problem by this point, but why develop such a program when PS2 software is still selling so well?
I still say the removal of the PS2 hardware was a scapegoat and that it didn't cost much at all. Sony knew if they just dropped the price without taking something it'd make it look like they were just price gouging their system from the start, which would be a nasty that'd show back up during the release of their next system.
