Only video game/ manga related thing I cried for was at the end of Metal Gear Solid 3 when it's revealed the extent of The Boss' patriotism. I think that'll be the only thing of this genre to ever move me to tears. Not even Aerith's death in FF7 can claim that.

well i cried too (and when that android was killed to stop wolfgangand the crab dude fight) but that was cuz we were children then!

indeed that was touching,i was moved by shadow's death in sonic adventure 2 and by tidu's death in FFX and i cried in chopper's flashback when hiluluk haged him and said he had a good heart

they transformed Laboon into an Iceburg.
I seem to recall one time they did crash into an Iceburg for real. besides we've seen so little I wouldn't doubt if ther were many off-screen minor injuries to Merry.
PS: I am making a nice animated GIF and I need one more thing but Photoshops locked itself into black and white mode.
Anyways, I cried watching the Drum Island arcs end in the Anime, didn't se eit in the Manga.
I also cried for Merry.

The reason why I am targetting you is because things like Aerith/Optimus dying are pretty much mainstream things that everyone knows. However, everyone needs to get back on the topic of OP and not talk about other things that may contain major spoilers that are not op-related. Thanks.
As for this chapter, I was immediatley inspired to play 2 songs that evoked the emotion this chapter instilled in me: Chrono Trigger's Second to last song and MOTHER 3's Love theme. That pretty much sums up what I thought of the chapter.

I almost cried when i read it, although Id have to disagree with some here about this being the saddest chapter. Chopper's past tops this easily imo.

I think Luffy is sitting on Chopper because Luffy doesn't have enough strength to stand on his own yet – his fight with Lucci took all his strength away. Chopper possibly helped Luffy climb to his "special seat" in the chapter before this one, too.
Later on in this chapter, Luffy is standing again. He's probably trying to be strong for Merry's sake -- but I expect he'll collapse shortly after she does, and someone will have to dive in and save him.

I can understand how it could be the saddest chapter. I mean, Luffy cried from sadness and that is a rare event. But it wasn`t the saddest for me personally.

The only thing I'm wondering is how they're gonna get past the Red Line. Marijoi is probably huge enough to cover the Grand Line's portion of the Red Line from Calm belt to Calm Belt. Even if it doesn't, Marines probably patrol the area like hawks.
That's probably ONE of the reasons no one reaches Raftel; because the 2nd half the Grand Line is guarded. Heavily. That aside, it has Shichibukai, Elbaf, the other Giant Island, Gyojin Island, etc., etc.
Inevitably, it'll be more marines sent flying. It never ends.

I am 99.99% sure Franky is gonna join the strawhats. If anyone was to join from this arc itd have to be Franky (flashback, fights with them, is with them on coversheet). People say that Oda could pull another Vivi on us, but unlike Vivi, the strawhats NEED Franky. They were looking for a mechanic and here he is.

the New ship should be an ancient weapon, and Ice-burg and Franky should build it, and they should just not tell Robin and co. that it's an acient weapon, and instead of more then just one cannon, they'll keep one, and it wont just shoot cannon balls, it'd also blow the FUCK out of an island, if not destroy it completely. <3
