I'll reserve judgement until such time as I see this thing in action. I just hope they don't screw up my favorite villains ( :ph34r: closet fan :ph34r: ). Blossom's hair is out of control though.

It looks weird. In that second pick they all have fairly funny looking weapons (Blossom has a Yo Yo and Bubbles has..well bubbles) but Buttercups is a bit disturbing…she has a hammer and what appears to be a dildo. I'll bet that's how she subdues enemies. LOLJoking. I think that it's some kinda strange japanese toy but it still looks like a sex toy...You can't be too careful....

I like the idea of seeing the Rowdy Rough Boys anime style.
They are the only thing I like about PPG…. -
The moment I saw this, my mind was split in two. One part of me kept screaming WTF at the top of it's lungs. The other part said, "Hey, this could be cool!" So, I'm reluctantly looking forward to this.
In regards to Buttercup's weaponry… I do believe the "dildo" that Shinigami referred to is a particular Japanese toy, not sure of the name, which consists of several multi-color sections stacked on top of each other, with a face on the top section. The mallet is the other part of the toy; if I recall correctly, you use a small mallet to knock parts of the stack away. So basically, they gave her a tiny one of these with a grossly exaggerated mallet. (To those with a bit more knowledge on japanese toys, did I get this right?)

Don't worry Himizujin, you got it right. I looked it up and it is a toy just like that. It's also said to be insanely difficult. The only reason I thought it was a dildo is because it's vaguely phallic shaped. Anyone would make that mistake, right guys? Guys?

This is just….wierd. :blink: I can't say I find myself caring much about it either way. I like PPG sometimes, because overall I find the satirical plot to be clever.

I never liked PPG serie too much, (seen it a few times randomly), though I do like the villian's character designs for they are a bit original. One group of villians I would like to see in this style is Gang Green (I think that is the name…cant remember).
Though I serie I DO like is Samurai Jack woot ^^, would be interesting if they tried that >_> but it might ruin the unique nature of this serie so...it might not be a good thing.

An american toon that would make a hell of an anime was the Spawn animated series. MADHOUSE (Helped Gainax with FLCL) helped out with the opening sequence but they only did buildings and some of Spawn's cape. It would be kickass to see a Spawn anime.

I'm usually not one to bash something without seeing it. I won't start now, but I gotta say, although it may be nice as a standalone series, it destroys 50% of what was PPG: the lame but sweet animation. 50% is of course the soul which may be retained, who knows, but still, I am deeply concerned.

Well from what I read at Toonamiarsenal.com ( It has a link) in the new series the Powerpuff Girls arn't even sisters….UGH! I think the only thing they kept true to the original is Mojo Jojo
