Carnage would be to much for one film. Heck, some rumours suggest that Venom will be carried over into movie 4, and personally I prefer that. I feel it would be to much to cram Harry, Sandman, the good and bad side of the suit AND Venom into one film, and do them all justice without making it about 4 hours long. However, that's my opinion.

I made a bet with a friend a while back that there was a sandman in the spiderman series. Just another 5 bucks for me. I sure hope the battles with sandman are good.
Overall, I'm looking forward to this movie. Harry Osborn as Green Goblin. Sandman. Symbiote Spiderman. This should be interesting.
After all this marvel talk, can any of you tell me what the original comics were, or at least where I could find them? 'cause all I find these days are just some revamped stuff with completely different stories, and all I want are the original comics that inspired it all. I really really want to read the comic featuring sandman.

There have been maybe 30 Sandman stories, nevermind issues and cameos. From what I've seen, the Sandman in the film has little in common with the actual character, besides the clothes and powers. And as far as I know, none of the trailer scenes of him correspond to any of him from the comics.

I agree. I don't mind minor changes to the characters for the films. That's a given. However I do feel this whole "Sandman killed Ben Parker" idea is pretty bad. Why couldn't they just make the Sandman a random thug like he is in the comics.

seem to suggest that Peter will beat Venom in this film, mainly due to how Venom seems to capture MJ and at one point in the trailer you see Peter and MJ looking out at a sun set, which I feel is a "final movie" style scene. Still it looks excellent. Also I bought the Spiderman 2.1 dvd (12 bucks...cheaper then the first film now) and it is excellent. It is Spiderman 2 with 8 mins extra scenes, new features, and at Wallmart it has a dvd focusing on the villans from Spiderman 3 (Sandman's is the best).
Besides that there is one scene that is so worth having two copies:

Yeah, here's what I've gathered:
At the beginning of the movie Parker decides to marry MJ. Then he tells aunt May and there's a heartwarming scene. That very night Parker drives his motorcycle and then fights Harry and then almost kills him but he runs away.
The next day the symbiotic suit appears in Connor's lab and it likes Peter so it attaches to him in the night. Then he gets mean and fights Harry and messes up his face and also Sandman, who is Uncle Ben's REAL killer shows up with powers and robs a bank but mean Peter beats him up and kills him.
Then Peter's like, "Oh no I'm a monster I gotta go to the clock tower to make the mean suit go away." So he does, but it falls on Eddie, who hates Spider-man because he broke his camera, then Eddie sees his secret and hates Parker and the suit drips on his head and he becomes Venom.
The rest of the movie is just Spider-man fighting Venom and MJ gets mad at Peter and leaves him or something and Peter meets Gwen and they fall in love and Harry dies of gangrene and Venom is launched into outer space and then the credits roll w/ a power ballad and at the very end it plays the Ramones version of the cartoon theme song.

I read the novel. Excellent stuff. Sandman was a great tragic character and Brock...is the world's biggest asshole...and a stalker. He loves to see detestation so that he can get a shot and even goes to church to ask god to kill Peter Parker.
This movie will rule. Thank god I have my Imax tickets already.

Yeah, it's a little more complex than that and don't forget Sandman. But when you watch all the trailers ESPECIALLY the Japanese ones which make it very clear what's going on.
The suit is also gonna make his hormones go nuts and he'll drive away MJ 'cause of that chick whose name I forgot.
It's all gonna be about him fucking everything up (again) and having to fix it all.
I dunno. The action scenes in both films have been stellar but the story just plays out too much like a….well....comic book. :P

Seriously there are 2 major scenes that have Peter mess up his own life. One out of pride so he can show off to the crowd. The other due to the symboite.
From what I've gathered Hasbro made Venom off a rejected color scheme that had him "Dark Purple" instead of black. That was rectified and Hasbro didnt want to waste money to recolor a million of them so they kept the toy's scheme purple (storybooks also have purple Venom as well) Wallmart, however, got an exclusive Venom where he is black, thus making all Venom fanboys wet their pants in excitement.
All this about Venom being in Spider-Man 4:
In the highly unlikely event that a fourth movie were made, it would probably feature the Lizard. Seeing as Connors has been in all the movies thus far (including this one: apparently he helps Peter analyze the symbiote[?]).
If there were a fourth film, I would beg for it not to be about Connors or MJ turning evil or whatever.
So the Osborns were close friends, Ock was his idol, Sandman now killed his uncle, and the Lizard was his teacher? The "UM OKAY" meter readings haven't been this high since Peter did Super Power Matrix after squirting web in the first one.
There are actually some talks that Spider-Man 4 will be made and out in either 2009 or 2010. However some of the cast, including Tobey Maguire, won't be back. For me it would be hard to see any other actor as Peter.
Tobey said he would be back if Rami was directing and if the script was good.

I hear rumors of Morlun being the villain of a 4th movie. Not sure how I feel about that, though it was kind of a fun story arc in the comics, although it led to mildly retarded consequences.

Maybe it's like the references to "Man-Wolf" in Spider-Man 2 (for those who don't know, John Jameson picked up a gem on the moon which turned him into a villain called "Man-Wolf" on a few occasions).
Yeah probably. I mean John actually had that gem on him in the movie. But the novel specificaly has Peter question whether Conners will try to regrow his arm. Another fun fact is at the Spiderman Day parade (seen in trailers) a kid sprays Peter with a silly string thing and Peter remarks something to the effect of "I wonder how it would be if I made one of those but with my we fluid" as a nod to the original origin.

I'm psyched about this movie. This movie might be the best, since it has ine of the best villains. If there is a spidey 4, I hope it's the original cast. I hate it when the main cast leaves.
The film apparently has a higher awareness level than either 1 or 2. If it's higher than the first film…holy crap. I assume this is due to the fact that Venom is in the film.
Other interesting tidbits I never knew:
Spidey 1 made $821 million worldwide while Spidey 2 made $783 million. Jesus, I didn't realize the films made that much at the foreign box office.
And the third film is supposedly the most expensive movie made to date at $250 million with the possiblity it being at $300 million. (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory took $272 million to make?! Did Warner break even on that?) To think that the marketing campaign is another $75 million…shit.
