@LaCaSiNa:
Oh, coolz! Paintings! I, as an honorary art student, am burning with desire to give you some critique! Nah, not really. :P I don't think I have too much right to critize, when the only oil painting I ever made was complete crap.
To be honest, I don't grab any… "meaning" or "vision" in the first one, sort of. I'm not saying it's bad, though, don't get me wrong! The colour scheme is just a bit off: dark, bright yellow and purple don't go too well together, IMO. The composing of the lines could've been better as well.
The second is more to my liking. I like the sense of movement in the character and the wild red and black. Your strokes are quite bold there. :) It has a mood of its own, kind of like a dangerous close-call situation. It looks like the person is about to be devoured by the black. Intimidating.
Thank you, I really appreciate that you are honest about those! That first one… I can't say its anything I am proud of... It used to be like, red and blue lines, and then I decided I hated it and painted over it with yellow... and then since I was already using that purple for something else, I felt bad for letting the extra go to waste, so I decided this painting could use some touching up... I might go back and get rid of the purple, honestly. Maybe another shade of red or something.
@Ms:
Do I get to see some drunk drawing next weekend?
More than likely yes…. XD
