Looks like they shot clover before he told too much. Meaning that he could have had been right that the WG might not fear the weapons themselves. Does that mean they know some of what happned in the 100 blank years?

This was a chapter again where you can be amazed even if you donÂ´t have a translation yet. Spandam shooting Clover down, the Olvia/Robin scene and the final spread with the attack already made their impact on my without any text to support it. They must be even more awesome with the text. CanÂ´t wait for the trans. :steve:

This means we'll have a two-week break now, actually. This issue isn't supposed to be on sale until next week, and it's also a double issue. The next issue goes on sale the third week of January.

Nah. There will be no chapter next week since this one got leaked so early. A jump double issue doesnt mean double the manga. I wish i could explain it better, I know ocean has many times in the past, but its kind of like just called a double issue since they take a week off, im not sure how much extra stuff is in it, but the manga in a double issue is never doubled up, its just one chapter.

I couldn't agree more. This seems like an amazing chapter. I can't wait until I can actually understand what they're saying. Olvia's expressions are killing me.

Pretty lame chapter. Two clunkers in a row. We know now that the World Govt. was simply a new name given to the gigantic kingdom (well, if Clover finished his sentence we could be sure of this but now it just seems 99% sure) Mariejoa sometime after it eliminated it's enemies, ie. the people which made the Poneglyphs. But who didn't see that one coming. And now there's a Buster Call initiated but still, not too pleased, at least it came out nice and early. I hope we don't spend all next chapter on Robin and Olvia.

Meh. Can't wait for the next chapter though.

It will be interesting when the flashback ends, and if we get to see anything of impel down. Both Nico Olvia and Tom got carried off by cipher pol agents while they are still alive, wonder if and how oda will incorporate that into an impel down appearance.

Would be pretty emotional having franky meet up with tom and robin with her mother at the same time.

This is going to sound bad, but I sure as hell hope Tom and Olvia are dead. I love them both, but I think it makes for a stronger story if they're not alive. Something I like about the Straw Hats is that they've all lost people who were like family to them, or had to leave families behind, only to form a new family of their own. I'd be about as disappointed with Tom and Olvia being alive as I would be if Bellemere and Hilukuk had somehow survived.

And no, that doesn't mean I think Franky will be a Straw Hat – I'm not sure. But losing parental figures seems a staple for them, no?

Anyway, I loved the Robin and Olvia dynamics here, and I wouldn't mind more, but that seems to be wrapping up... I don't know since I can't read it :laugh:

Up to a couple seconds ago, I had been firmly convinced that the World Government was the next step in the evolution of the "United Nations", but from what you've just said, it was only really a huge, imperialistic kingdome? Yeah… forgot to mention that, but I agree. I had no clue that that's how it was. This puts a whole new level of darkness into the OP world, I think. I wonder where the heck the WG's motto, "Justice" comes from then. Or is that only the Navy?

So, how does this play into that council that we saw earlier, the council of kings or somesuch? Is it all just a sham of a democracy?

And before us two mentioned this there was many other fellow co-members that came up with something similar long before but I´m not going to search ancient threads to back that up.

…have you even read the chapter yet? All you know thusfar is that the world government was once a nation. Is that all the information you need in order to judge this chapter's content?

Oda's beautifully executed this chapter, and I've already cried twice reading it.

And regarding the "predictable story" of this chapter: if you sit enough monkeys at a typewriter, one's eventually going to type up Shakespeare. It's no surprise with the amount of talking that goes on on this forum that eventually somebody would be right about something.
