I have done some re-reading and here I will share some thoughts about players. I would like to start with a disclaimer to regard any of my speculation with a grain of salt; just being townie doesn’t give me any deeper insight into the game.
kmohyudin I have little reason to doubt.
@kmohyudin:
On the other hand, I find it curious that I felt a definite townie vibe from at least two individuals here this early in the game. You would have to excuse me if I refrain from speaking any further on the matter but I think as the game matures, we will see more indications that would help us navigate this setup.
Looking back, this was the second post he made, which we now know was based on me and Kirby speculating about vanilla townies, and it was well before Jabberwok made any indication of having a power role. I’m trying to see how establishing this viewpoint for discerning scuminess from this early on would make sense for a Mafia member. Granted, there was NoSwords to make a case against, but otherwise, he can’t have known in advance that someone like Jabberwok would come along and hint at a role; it benefits him that his thinking has been consistent from this point on.
I did find it suspicious that kmohyudin said he had a townie read on Kirbycide, but soon after found him his suspicious, however he seems to explain away this contradiction later:
@Kirbycide:
Is there someone else that you suspect more?
@kmohyudin:
To be honest, you! dun dun dun!!!
@kmohyudin:
You should also note that I never actually voted on you, never said you were on my list, or even that I thought you were scum, since I realize that my case against you is built on mostly pedantry and dubious hunt for contradictions. I also realize that you are new to this game and that in of itself would imply a certain amount of doubt on your ownself that could come off as contradictions. All of this maybe true, but we nevertheless have to take what we get, and try to aggresively pursue even the tiniest of opportunities. So, you should excuse my repeated accusations.
Jabberwok
I think it’s safe to say I am backing this wagon. His soft claims and especially his decision to double down on his “additional powers” comment as being done intentionally to somehow benefit the town doesn’t sit well with me. His soft claim today seems more a way to convince the town that he is beneficial to us so we do not lynch him. More than anyone else, I believe his flip will reveal a lot about players’ alignments.
Side note about Jabberwok:
@Jabberwok:
With 10 players, let's assume 2 Mafia, as that allows for up to 3 mis-lynches before losing the game. That's a pretty standard timeframe.
If he flips mafia, there’s a good chance this was misdirection, and so we should assume 3 mafia.
Kitsune I also have my misgivings about, although I also think it would be odd if both he and Jabberwok were scumbuddies and pulled the same role claim move.
Thought there was some irony here:
@Kitsune:
It's why you look scummy for boarding two wagons with little to go on. You are creating information, just by voting.
This has been my main issue with Kitsune. Especially his Jabberwok vote and unvote, which he first “saw what kmo was seeing” but then provides this as reasoning:
@Kitsune:
After roles, before game start. You commented "I know nothing about the setup", and that seems to be what kmo and Kirby are zeroing in on.
@Kitsune:
To further clarify you said "The only thing I have to go on is Shihan's track record of insanity. And the title, I guess." and "Curious what these random numbers could be about." Almost like you don't know something that Town SHOULD know. That seems to be the source of this really annoying witch hunt.
Like, who would go on this as compelling evidence? Now, if they were scumbuddies, he might have panicked and not wanted to be seen as scum defending his buddy, so he joined the Town wagon that is being claimed to be supported by evidence without really giving much thought to how strong that evidence was… But then, after a reread, he realizes what he thinks is their evidence is actually very flimsy (it actually wasn’t what they based their opinion on after all), so he gets off the wagon, realizing that supporting the wagon for such flimsy reasons makes his look even more scummy. If he were town, I believe he would have evaluated what he considered the evidence to be before joining the wagon, and, if it were so weak, would have looked suspiciously at kmo and Kirby for pushing such a weak case.
I also don’t quite like Kitsune’s role claim, as I don’t see how, if it were true, that making that claim helps the town.
I feel that if Foolio were mafia, he’d be pushing harder against specific players to get them lynched. But… I will admit that this isn’t definitive evidence; he could just as easily be sitting back on Day 2 and letting a scumbuddy or, even worse, the Town themselves shoot down the wrong direction, and save the stronger misdirections for later in the game.
Kirbycide is giving me more townie vibes. He has a willingness to change opinions based on new info or something explained to him making more sense than his original view, rather than be concerned that he appears to have had one consistent view and staunchly defend it, which I would pin as more scummy behaviour.
I find it problematic I don’t have a strong read on Huschel, SuDK, or Sky.
I find Sky’s answer to my suspicion of her satisfactory.
I did a read through Huschel’s posts only, and his views seem to be consistent. So while I initially was a little concerned he was flying under our radars, I do get a town read from him. Also he made a good point of suspecting Kitsune and Jabber for fixating on the word Vanilla, when we did not receive any mention of that word with our roles, something he probably wouldn’t bet on if he were mafia and not aware of this, so this makes him look less suspect in my (lack of) eyes.
Finally, regarding my “death,” I have to say prepare for another disappointing reveal. I already gave whatever info I had. I was told I was shot and there was blood coming out a hole in my vest. And that I should say what I want before I bleed out. That’s it.
I was afraid this meant I only had a few minutes or hours, so I put out all the info I had, but now I am suspecting it means I live till Day End. Doubt I’ll live to see the next day.
What does this mean? Maybe tomorrow’s night action will make it clearer. Maybe everyone is bulletproof and the mafia has two guns and have to use two bullets to kill. Maybe I was protected. Maybe only some vests work. We apparently have two power roles on our side :P so if we have also have some bulletproof vests, the mafia would need to have something up their sleeve to balance things out.
