I don't think she is a snakeneck, her neck was regular sized before she went snake mode. More likely she is a Snake Zoan user since she also got pointy teeth and bifid tongue when she grew her neck… also, we never saw any snakeneck having the ability to freely extend their neck (which is a shame, it would be a neat addition to that race).
Pedro trained Carrot and couldn't train Pekoms. That implies it is not the entire population that can do it without hurting themselves.
There's still a good bit though. As long as Carrot gets substantial focus in this arc, then yeah, I'd say she's gotta good chance.

I'm honestly not sure what you're trying to say here; this honestly doesn't make sense considering what you're replying to. (are you saying we won't see the full power of the minks again? That's what it sounds like)
It was already implied back in Zou that the full moon would be crucial for the Minks being able to beat (or at least fight) Kaidou's crew in Wano, and absolutely nothing about that has changed. The main thing that makes Carrot stick out is that a Mink being able to control themselves in that state is seen as rare, and it wouldn't exactly be rare if every major mink aside from Pekoms could pull it off.

It would make no narative sense to establish this character, have her go on adventures with the crew, give her a mystery to investigate, have her actively participate on the ship… just for her to fade into the background. I mean yeah I kind of agree but its inevitable.
I do wish Oda introduced new nakama right off the bat after timeskip. Although to be fair Carrot's been with us for 100+ chapters and she'll probably with us for the long haul.
I think the problem is that Punk Hazard/Dressrosa saga took so much time. Almost 4 years were spent between those 2 arcs.

I would prefer if we did not get any new one. But it is pretty much that we will. I mean Jimbei is already pretty set and I seem to be rembering mentioning there was more than one coming.

The thing about snakenecks are they're the last race introduced way back in Sabaody that we don't anything about. We know about Longarms from Brook's sidestory and Longlegs we learned more about them from the Grand Fleet coverstory. Dwarves we learned about from Dressrosa arc. Giants will have Elbaf arc.
But snakenecks? They only made their first appearance during WCI arc. Given that Elbaf is already the giants arc I suspect snakenecks will have big role in Wano.
There's also Orochi meaning "big snake" (reminded me of Orochimaru). So it'll be interesting to see how big of a role snakenecks will be in this arc if there are any.

It's been 20 years, so the baddies will be taken down by 9 people. This can mean the samurai who were trapped in the fire and got sent forward in time (Orochi's interpretation), but it could also mean the Straw Hats (there's only 9 of them, Carrot is not a Straw Hat and Jinbe won't show up til later). Could also be a mix of characters, who knows.

also I'm not a big Carrot for next nakama supporter (I actively disagree with the theory) but I couldn't help but think to myself, she really feels like she belongs with the crew when she ran up and hugged Luffy along with Chopper, I don't think she'll join..... but I'm a little less certain than I was before this chapter

Again, any number of scenarios are possible. Maybe the its a sneak attack and we have dozens of groups attacking different places at a set time. Maybe the minks will defer to Momo. Maybe Inu and Neko will guard Momo and Shishilian will be in charge of the army. My bet is that Inu and Neko will fight Jack at the same time just to wrap up their whole "not being friends" thing. But leading the mink army is not how a mink makes themselves stand out. If all the strawhats fight Kaido at once and Carrot is with them, then that would make her stand out much more than if she had just lead the initial charge, no?

Just would like to point out this chapter considerably hurt Carrot chances since we are putting the duration of her presence and the "arrival of dawn" together. There is nothing keeping the "dawn" to be expanded later on to something bigger, but where we stand now it was presented as something related to Wano specifically and something that will be achieved by the conclusion of this arc when Luffy opens Wano borders, rather than something he will achieve when he becomes Pirate King/takes the WG down as we were expecting.
Unless Carrot gains a reason to stay for herself, simply inheriting Pedro's will to protect Luffy until the dawn is here will not take her farther than this arc.
Nahhh, the “Dawn of the World” Thing will be like how Nami wanted to save her town. It will be that initial character drive that fleshes out what the character is fighting for at first. And when The Strawhats help achieve it with them, then they’ll follow them with their long term goal which is “Carrot wants to see the world”… I don’t think her saving the country will change that part

Yes, this is exactly what I'm picturing. It's been a while since I've looked at Usopp's lies but I feel like they've been outlandish not just in the lie but also in their future delivery. Rebecca giving Luffy some bento boxes seems to open to interpretation imo.

But he did steal food from the farm. The food that Luffy and Zoro took were left behind in the town. They clearly didn't take any of it with them, as you can see when Luffy, Kiku, and Law are riding to the castle.
Whatever Law took was a previous theft before Luffy's whole mess.
