Jump Force, unveiled at Microsoft's E3 conference:
JUMP FORCE (2019 Video Game)

Looks awesome..sequel to jump stars for ps4
-
-
eh,i don't have many hopes for this given the developers
hope they don't give us a sub-par product like usual..we need good crossover anme games…i'm tired of comic books getting all the love.
-
Damn the visuals look stunning, I just hope the gameplay isn't bad like J-Stars was
-
-
Ok, who here has knowledge of how Good/Bad burning blood was?
The good jump crossover games were made by Ganbarion, but they are handling One Piece World Seeker.
Checking Chunsoft's history they don't only have Jump-Vs (that was terrible) but also did the very first one back in Nes times, so with this one they have 3 jump games made.
The other nes one was made by an infamous company, but battle stadium DON was made by the team that handled bloddy roar and marvel vs capcom 3 as an external contractor to their main companies, among others.
Some tweets seem to indicate that this is playable on the exposition floor, please be on the lookout for gameplay footage.
-
Wow… And it's coming out in the US.... Haven't been this surprised since Project X Zone.
-

-
You can probably throw in Midoriya and All Might. Taking the character count up to SIX CHARACTERS I can use to beat Sasuke's emo was into the ground. You know what? Seven. Throw in Naruto.
-
LUFFY!!! NUUUUUUU!!!
-
Confirmed for PC as well.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Goddamned it, change their stupd post timeskip costumes already!!! Luffy I don't notice because at least his looks fine, and he's the one that changes the least, everyone else looks stupid, and Nami's best decision ever was to give that bathing suit away.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
The gameplay looks closer to Burning Blood.
-
Switch port, by any chance?
-
Confirmed Characters: One Piece-(Luffy [Base and Gear 4th] and Zoro)

Wouldn't Light be overpowered or underpowered depending on how you look at it?
-
@Triumph:
Wouldn't Light be overpowered or underpowered depending on how you look at it?
Sure he can instakill anyone, but does that really matter?
Goku has come back from the dead several times and can do it again, Naruto can have a buddy cast a jutsu to revive him with no actual consequences and One Piece characters cannot die except in flashbacks or if they're Ace.

….. Yo, Tru tho.

Producer Interview ! with Gameplay !
-
Seriously, Midoriya. Where is he?
-
Key Visual of Jump Force !
-
…. Luffy, you gotta wash that hat every so often.
-
I think it's pretty safe to say Asta (and likely Yuno) from Black Clover and Midoria Izuku (Deku) are going to be in.
-
More Gameplay and the detail is amazing -
-
I posted this in the video game area, but I hope that this game FULLY commits to having as many characters from as many different genres as possible.
Personally, I'd like to see.
Issei Hyoudo from High School Dxd.
Train Heartnet from Black Cat
Sakura Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura
Sebastian from Black Butler
Alucard from HellsingIf this game is a buffet of anime from all genres, then they'll make millions.
-
I would think with the name being "Jump" Force they're just going to pull in characters from Jump games just like all the other Jump crossover games.
-
Issei: Never gonna happen. Not unless they want a hard M.
Train: Maybe.
Sakura: is that even Toei? Or Viz?
Sebastian: Why not.
Alucard: Once again… I thought that was Tokyopop? -

Realized that upon more research and a few on this forums. This is another in that lien of Jump fighters (have they ever left Japan with these?)
Which is a shame, because if they went for as much as possible, they'd make BANK.
-
Key Visual of Jump Force !
The Avengers sure look different.
-
Not necessarily. My bet is you have to pay every creator for use of their IP. You might end up losing money.
-

As if the other owners wouldn't want a single cent out of this.
-
My point exactly.
-
I hope Koro-sensei and Nube make it in despite Matsui not having a current series and Nube's sequel being serialized in a different Jump magazine.
-
The Squid dude from Assassination Classroom? Once again, is that even Toei? Whatever, I can dig it.
-
@Triumph:

I would suggest reading up on Shounen Jump. Toei (or Western publishers like Viz or Tokyopop) doesn't really matter here, it's all Shueisha.
I'm really hoping for some Jojo action, Gintoki, Kenshiro, Koro-sensei and the absolute best would be Neuro.
-
I'm really hoping for some Jojo action.
You thought it was a fighting game, but it was ME! DIO!
-
Here who I'm hoping to be in it.
Oga
Gintoki
Joseph Joestar
Dio
All Might -

Only J Stars Victory Vs was ever released outside of Japan.

You are asking for spawn, superman, batmam, asterix and lucky Luke in marvel vs capcom.

The DS is region free, and you sometimes can fish out jump ultimate stars from the internet.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
As always the genkidama takes a while to charge. Destructible environments, and change of arena inside the same stage.
What I didn't like was the comment of "hero" characters, in reference to the sport series, as in no sakuragi or soma or the like. I'd include romance as well. If light is just a plot character instead of a support (or even a fighter) its going to be disappointing.
-
I just pray its not like J Stars or Burning Blood or anything like that.
-
I don’t mean to sound like a negative jerk, but even for an early game, it looks far too stiff and awkward. If this is the best we can do in this arena, let’s just stick to games like FighterZ. I want this but in ArcSystem style SO BAD. I fear this game will be yet another subpar SJ crossover. These games should be held against real standards, and I feel like people go easy on them for the sake of appreciating fan service.
-
Historically it's going to be shit, but I'm not letting that get me down, as at the very least we'll get the new set of ougis and such:
So, I'll be breaking down the 50 years of jump into pieces to pick up some promising candidates, I'll start with 2014-2018, and work backwards, in sets of 5 years until I get to the old ones that cover less series, and get more obscure and are in licence hells:
The game must have been in development since 2016 at the very least, as that is when Burning Blood was completed, considering that there is still this full year to draw inspiration from, I wouldn't discount last year's hits, or powerups, but this year it becomes way harder to justify.
I'm also asuming manga on Weekly Shonen Jump only, even if One Punch man and Tokyo ghoul are shueisha's properties and super famous, and dragon ball super managed to crawl itself into relevance I'm not counting them.
Finally I'm counting sports, comedy and romance series as well, just because they can't throw a punch doesn't mean that they can't be an asist.
1994-2018! 2014-2018:
! 2014:
Hinomaru Zumo (combat sports, might squeeze in)
My Hero Academia (it's going to be in, just like the 45th aniversary game was to get toriko and korosensei in)
! 2015:
Black clover (eh, inevitable)
Samon the summoner (unlikelly, it lasted 2 years)
! 2016:
Yuna of the hot springs (know nothing about it, seems fanservice, but has survived for 2 years)
Kimetsu no Yaiba (didn't seem that big deal but again, survived for a while, so it gets a consideration)
Boruto (double eh, it's just not that interesting as a moveset over Boruto's dad)
The promissed neverland (they are in the middle of the first true battle, so there is the issue of developing Emma during finishing touches time)
! 2017:
4 series, in order of likellyhood
Dr Stone (senku as an asist throwing potions and shit)
Robot x Laserbeam (asist, a super acurate golf ball hit)
Lycopene/We never learn (surviving, but nothing here stands out)
! 2018: No obvious superhits in the new series, doesn't merit the effort of working on the final year for any of these, even if one survives.
! –- Update From New Post Merge ---
! 2009-2013:! 2009:
Kuroko's basket, Beelzebub and Medaka Box were in JSVV+, but they seem to have fizzled out in that order of relevance
! 2010:
No Hits, longest running series was Enigma with 2 years.
! 2011:
Nisekoi: in JSVV+, support only
! 2012:
Haikyu, Saiki and Assassination Classroom were in JSVV+, with Shokugeki no Soma being the last hit series from that year, and AssClass being the cut point of series for that game.
Very unlikely that Korosensei is cut
Soma only works as an assist, where he either makes a delicious dish or the peanut butter experiment depending if you get to him or your opponent gets to him
! 2013:
World Trigger: I recently became a fan, I can see a moveset where Yuma being the frontline character, with Osamu and Chika as part of his moveset, for midrange and longrange attacks
Isobe Isobee: A gag series with an interesting visual element, doesn't seem to fit with the theme or style of the game.
Jaco: Eh, Toriyama is bound to get at the very least 4 characters (Goku, Vegeta, Frieza and Arale), who would pick Jaco over Gohan, Trunks, Gotenks, Picollo, Dr Mashirito, etc? Besides it's a one volume series.
! –- Update From New Post Merge ---
! 2004-2008:! 2004:
Death Note Confirmed, with Light and Ryuk as an overpowered assist, plot only character or a very weird fighter.
Gintama: in both JUS and JSVV+, and the third oldest series in WSJ and on the top 10 longest running series, they can't snub Gintoki
Steel Ball Run: I'll talk all jojos together in 1987, see gintama on how they can't skip this
Reborn! D Gray Man: both JUS and JSVV, Dgray Man moved to another series but that didn't stop them from putting Alen in JSVV
Muji and Rouji (something something supernatural): Skiped JSVV, 4 years series, same kind of relevance as Medaka and Beelzebub. I'll just name those the 4 year tier from now on, series that were big in the moment but kind of mid tier and don't have that kind of staying power as big concentrated hits as AssClass or the juggernauts like One Piece.
! 2005:
Neuro: Technically a 4YearTier but as sister series of AssClass, and in both JUS and JSVV, Neuro should get in, with his moveset of JUS abusing Jako as a weapon
Taizo Mote Saga: In JUS, 4YT, not seeing it comming back, but he was the cut point for JUS.
! 2006:
To Love-Ru: Can't ignore it if there are assists. In JSVV
! 2007:
Sket Dance: Assist Oriented, in JSVV, 5 years series with anime, wouldn't hold my breath for the sket dan to come back.
! 2008:
Nurarihyon no Mago: Weirdly skipped from JSVV, has anime and everything, didn't read it but seemed like the classical 4yt, I doubt that it will get in.
Toriko: Shueisha had high hopes for this series, and I still expect some representation but just Toriko.
Bakuman: Some weird assist or meta powers would be nice
Inumarudashi: Is in the tier before 4yt, lasted long, but was the resident gag series that gets away with stuff like a preschool boy naked from the waist down. Unlikelly candidate, even if there are assists.
! –- Update From New Post Merge ---
! 1999-2003:! 1999:
Hikaru no Go: a go series, depending on supports. One of two series cut from Jump super stars to jump ultimate stars. I'd say proven 4yt.
Prince of tennis: famous and ongoing, despite it's critics, should get in.
Naruto: already in
! 2000:
Black Cat: a little above a 4yt but was skipped from JSVV+..
Jaguar: Gag series, in JUS and JSVV, should get in
! 2001:
Bobobo (etc.): in both games, it's very likelly to get in
Mr Fullswing: the other series cut from JSS to JUS, I don't see it comming back
Bleach: when where you under the impression that this game won't have Ichigo?
! 2002:
Both Ichigo 100% and Eyeshield 21 were in JUS, can't talk about either, but seem nice.
! 2003:
Buso Renkin: I'll talk about Watsuki on Kenshin, but even if it was in JUS, and we ignore the "child pornography" case on Watsuki, it was a 10 volume series. I believe that it got big thanks to Watsuki's name and crashed down quickly, but it could have been a bondafire hit, and I just didn't know. I'd say "No".
! –- Update From New Post Merge ---
! 1994-1998:! 1994:
Ruronin Kenshin: I dunno how Japan as a whole feels about the man, but a global audience won't be so chill about it. I'd say hard pass, even if I like the characters.
Midori no Makibao: Horse racing manga, in JUS and 4yt. I don't see it making it.
! 1995: (had a ton of series trying to fill the void of Dragon Ball and Slam Dunk, the biggest dip of prints of WSJ in it's history)
Level E: Only considered because it's from Togashi, I doubt it. There was an Obata series and a Masaku Katsura series, both bellow the 2 years range.
Sexy Commando Masaru: Weirdly relevant, as merchandise of it was made in the aniversaries, a school/gag series about a martial art that consist on "distracting" the opponent to make them unable or unwilling to fight. Unlikelly series, but where is merchandise..
! 1996:
Hoshin Engi: 4yt on JUS, with a bad anime airing right now. Low chance.
Yu-Gi-Oh!: Licencing hell, should get in but Konami most likelly won't let it happen.
! 1997:
I''s: Romance series, showed up on JUS. Regular 4yt.
Takeshi Leader something something: Shimabukuro's manga before Toriko, cut short because he was caught with underage prostitutes. Dunno what it was, but even with it's ugly main character and controversial cause of ending, it is well regarded by Shueisha. Could get in.
One Piece: (…)
! 1998:
Rookies and Whistle!: Last baseball and soccer hits from WSJ, with Rookies being the most notable. I doubt they will get in, as if they go for either sport for baseball it's going to be one of the series from jump's first year, and football it's going to be captain tsubasa.
HunterxHunter: There is no escape from hiatus.
Shaman King: Might get dificult, it seems like Takei is going to other magazine and even editorial, so Shueisha might have lost the rights to this series. Kinda deserving, didn't show up in JSVV, but might have been for legal issues more than popularity.
Rising Impact: What is this? A golf manga? Interesting by 2 things. Lasted 4 years and it's author went on to do Seven Deadly Sins and Kongoh Bancho. 0% chance of being in, but it's a weird tidbit of history. -
Honestly? I don't think the quality of the game will matter. I'll play on the visuals and the novelty alone.
-
That is what I thought about JSVV. And I was wrong.
-
Unless it like… physically hurts to play, I'll be fine. And where's Boruto?
-
Spike never ceases to amaze me. I guess Burning Blood 2 for 2020, perfect opportunity to add Revive and Wano content.
-
Those were… Certainly words you said.
-
I listed boruto there, even with the special conditions of his series, but gameplay wise? A Naruto without his visually interesting powers? I wouldn't like him.
Ok, I'll squeeze in a few years more:
Taking in consideration these two games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famicom_Jump:_Hero_Retsuden and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famicom_Jump_II:_Saiky%C5%8D_no_Shichinin
Abrebiated as FJ and FJII for my convenience. The only character with full attendance to all crosover games is Goku, if we discount Battle Stadium DON (that was only DB, Naruto and One Piece) and Jump Superstars, the perfect attendance series are: Dragon Ball, Kochikame, Jojo's bizzarre adventure and Sakikage!! Otokojuku. Listing the series because I'd have to remove Jojos because they have switched Jhonatan and Jotaro in a few of these. The one discounted with JSS's inclusion is Sakikage.
1989-1993:
! 1989:
Dragon Quest Dai's adventure: More popular than a videogame tie in should be. If it wasn't for Squareenix it would be a certain thing. Trapped in licencing hell.
Video Girl Ai: Popular enough back then, if I was more familiar with it I'd say a regular 4yt. Unlikelly to get in before Nisekoi or Yuna or We never learn, if even.
! 1990:
Keiji: a 4yt drawn by Tetsuo Hara, artist of Fist of the North Star. If it comes this vs that, the answer is obvious.
Slam Dunk: competes with the premium basket slot with Kuroko's basket. Weirdly absent of JSVV even if other sport assists made it in.
Chinyuki: That super that made it to JSVV, you'll forget the name but never the face of nightmares. Made it to JSVV even if it skipped JUS. Anyone's guess.
Yu Yu Hakusho: very unlikelly, to not get in.
! 1991:
Two series lasted more than 2 years, Outer Zone a twilight zone stile manga and Pennant Race, that seems like a gag-baseball manga. Not very likelly candidates, both were over in less than 3 years.
! 1992:
Hentai Kamen: Infamous, but it is actually acknowledged? Even if it was short, it has a movie.
BOY: no comment.
! 1993:
Ninku: On JUS, is a dude who combines ninjutsu with Kung Fu. Not likelly as the original series was short lived and the followup was in Ultra Jump.
Tottemo Luckyman: Another of the Gag heroes, in JUS as an assist and JSVV as a fighter, so it's likelly to return.
DNA: Short lived, but had an OVA. Unlikelly but noted.
Hell Teacher Nube: As Luckyman, went from assist to fighter, maybe it's luck will continue.
! The years leading up to the end of Dragon Ball and Slam Dunk were dry, with even notable series lasting very little. From now on it gets somwehat annoying, I still know something about series of the 80's, but anything of the series of 70's and 60's is purelly second hand accounts and perception, so I'll just be listing names of series of 4 years or more of duration, or that were on Famicom Jump, their genere, and nothing else.
-
I'm take a shot at guessing a safe roster, based mostly off the J-Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars games. I think 35 is a safe number of characters

DragonBall: Goku, Freeza
Death Note: LightBleach: Ichigo
Kenshin: Kenshin
YuYu Hakusho: Yusuke, Togoro
HxH: Gon, Killua

KochiKame: Ryotsu
Jojo: Jotaro, Dio
Toriko: Toriko
AssClass: KoroSensei
MyHero: Deku, All Might
Black Clover: Asta
Gintama: Gin
Bobobo: Bo-Bobo
Shaman King: Yoh

SaikiK: Saiki
DrSlump: Arale
DGrayman: Allen
Muhyo to Rohji: Muhyo
HoshinEnji: Taikobo
Kinnikuman: Kinnikuman
Hinomaru Zumo: HinomaruI can see the final roster looking kinda like this
