I'm loving how animated this arc is, I mean the nosebleed scene looks like a damn Shida scene even though it's not lmao

Nice jazzy number there, can't wait to hear the whole thing later when the episode properly drops.
I genuinely can't remember the last time I was this excited to see a One Piece episode when it drops, tbqh. I hope they do these few wedding episodes justice.
Why does Morgans sound so suave?
Very nice episode, and i'm suprised they didnt censor blood coming out from Jigra head, i hope they will keep this ^^
The anime managed to make Morgans even better. Amazing.

First half is actually really cool
A pretty good episode. I loved the random musical number when the guests arrived, loved Perospero, and the animation and models were on point throughout. I didn't even mind the filler scene with the extra goons attacking; they were creative and it gives more screentime to Oven and Daifuku. I'll even forgive that they recycled a bunch of animations at the end there from Mama's intro.
It's good to see the anime is taking this arc (at least the wedding portion thus far) seriously.
PS: um.. is there a reason Katakuri called Bege "Luke"????
Next episode will cover the whole chapter or even more, we can see in the preview sanji and pudding arrive and this is the last page of chapter 861.

I just noticed. The pacing could actually be very smooth from now on, because Toei can fill in Katakuris visions and then the changed present. Its the perfect filler content :o
The next One Piece movie needs to be a musical. Z had that great soundtrack song, and Gold had that opening musical spectacle, but I want something filled with showstoppers and I know now they can definitely do it!

this episode was not the best but it was okay , the art was really amazing , but the only issue was the introduction of katakuri , I wished if they focus more on this scene, because that was the core of the episode , imagine if onishi did this scene ( i know he's busy working on super movie right now ) Or Even Shida

Can we sit here and appreciate how much the anime has improved in the past year or so. Makes me wish they'd go back and redo Dressrosa.

Why would directors like Onishi or Shida do Katakuri's introduction scene? Nothing about it would require a lot of flashy animation.
It seems some fans take certain style choices for granted.

When Perospero made the stairs right? I had the same feeling. I suspect they changed it just enough to not get sued.
You know what shocked me the most about this episode? They actually showed Jigra getting shot in the head, complete with entry (and implied exit, jeebus!) wound. I think that's the first time they've ever shown something like that in the anime, even the famous sequence of Arlong murdering Bellemere was never able to get away with that on the weekly anime. I guess the secret is to not use a gun for your headshots.
The rest of the episode was pretty fun and really colorful to look at. Like that little bit in the Seducing Woods I didn't expect the guests' entrance to be another musical but looking at the manga again I guess there are music notes in the speech bubbles to signify song. The anime team must be thankful for Katakuri since his Observation Haki usage will justify them reusing animation, heh. I think that red-eye effect is a carry-over from the Heart of Gold special.
! Finally, it's funny how this much time is spend on the guests' arrivals and intros when only two of them will turn out to be relevant past this scene.

If i remember good this was only 3-4 sec of reuse animation so this is not that much.

! Three. Stussy, Morgans, and Du Feld. Plus, I imagine all of them will at some point. It seems obvious to me that there has to be some intersection with old CP9/New CP0 and the underworld, considering they've featured in all but one new world arc thus far.

Those organ dealers trying to attack BM's crew when all of its big names are together didn't made much sense, but I will take it for the extra use of Oven's fruit.
Also, the anime decided to include the decuplets in the wedding (at least the boys), this will make a certain future scene a little weirder.
Blues Brothers 2000 taught me that I will gladly lap anything up if it has fun music sequences. The Underworld Emperors song was an absolute delight.
…Though thankfully, it wasn't just the singing holding up the episode. Loved the background music, especially in the first half, I don't think I've heard most of those tracks before. While the organ dealers attack was admittedly pretty ridiculous, I do really like how Daifuku and Oven got an establishing battle moment. In the manga their role felt weird at first because they only had Vito's vague hype to establish their strength and then they just did stuff like they had been established already.

I did a double take when I saw that sub lol, never seen FUNimation do anything like that before. I mean Rook and Luke are basically pronounced the same but the correct choice should be obvious.
All the comments about this episode online are saying it's skippable and boring cause it has "random people" singing too much.
For a moment there I had forgotten how much I hated the average normie anime watcher.
-I love how they did the intro cards for the characters, I hope it starts a trend in the anime.
-Enjoyed the Niji/Bege standoff, Capone's the fastest draw in the West. "Body check"
-Pretty tasteful direction for the whole Underworld Brokers sequence, it was lovely! All the songs this arc have been really, really great!
-Not a fan of the filler scene with Jigra's squad. I appreciate that they tried to make their designs non-generic and that Daifuku and Oven had a better introduction than in the manga thanks to both this scene and the door entrances, but the whole sequence made Bege's crew look incompetent at their job. That being said, filler scenes this arc have filled some gaps in the story and improved the source material in my eyes, the ones with Mont D'Or last episode were great, for example.
-I don't mind the reused animation at the end, it's only there for the blink of an eye.
I hope Fukasawa stays as series director for a long time, he's doing a great job. By the way, the opening's grown on me a lot despite not liking it initially, it's up there among the best for me now.

Honestly speaking though, I was expecting more from Komaki and Guts this time. IMO this episode was a bit weaker than Komaki's last episode.
But I still loved it a lot, especially the musical scenes!

! They didn't knew the Germa had bodies that couldn't be harmed by regular bullets. Some people justified it because they weren't part of the assassination plan - they were shown at the tea party in the manga -, so maybe the information was not shared with them, but now it gets harder to justify they being completely oblivious about the that fact
