Yeah. Zygrade in Sun and Moon.. I'm like.. who cares?
Pokemon Ultra S&M - Let's Minecraft Pikachu and Eevee Quest

When all the Trio legendaries meet up for drinks, they point and laugh at Zygarde.
-
I have never played Pokemon.
And it's been kind of my dream to do it for a year or two already. But I don't know how to pull it off because there is no 3ds sold here and buying something like that in another country means additional cost.
And now since I have heard that there's the new game being realised I have felt super jelly and I have wanted to do it even more.
AND NOW WHAT I SEE? IT'S BEING RELEASED ON MY FREAKING BIRTHDAY?? THE WORLD HATES ME.
don't mind me, I am just a passerby. -
Definite Sleep sounds like a direct response to Clefable and all of it's bullshit spamming Thunder Wave friends, I just pray this Pokémon's actually decent.
And the Zygarde stuff isn't anime only shit?! Today is a good day..
-
@Mr.:

Of course not, its been in Picross for months. It was always going to make into the main games.

As a whole, if it's an issue of cost there's ways to obtain affordable 3DS systems, by getting them refurbished or just used from people. There's also the 2DS which is considerably cheaper and would suffice if the purpose is to pokemon. -

And that doesn't even involve transportation costs >.<
Yeah the two choices I imagine are either buying an used one or a new one from another country from where a friend will be able to visit me and bring it to me.
I kind of want to play Sun & Moon too, so I'd rather go for 3DS instead of 2DS one.By the way is there any issue with regions where you can play it or something? Just making sure.

Not familiar with how they do region locking for Georgia. My guess is that you would get the european version? I'm honestly really unsure.
Also, the 2DS can play 3DS games, so it's able to play Sun and Moon. You just won't have 3D effect options, which is fine if X and Y is something to go by since in those games enabling the 3D just made the battles lag really annoyingly.

Oh, thanks for the info~ I'll figure something out this summer probably and hopefully.

A koala finally! Hope it evolves and gains an additional type, it has high chances of making into my team.
The dog is probably the first pokémon doge I like. Rock type was a great choice for a change (sorry, Lillipup, you just… no).
I don't care about Zygarde.
Now that's a cute one!

don't mind me, I am just a passerby. If you really can't afford it due to crazy costs in your area, and you don't mind going back a couple gens because you just really want to play pokemon for the first time…. emulators can run anything up through the DS era pretty solidly, so you can get as recent as Diamond/Pearl or HeartGold/SoulSilver to run pretty well on any computer. (And as an added bonus you can set it for turbo speed for easy grinding.) And there's emulation around for Black/White and XY, but those tend to slog a fair bit more and run not as well, but playable..
-
Black/White was on the DS, so shouldn't the emu for that be as good as any other DS emu? If so, that's the gen to play in my opinion. It may not have goats, but they're probably the best designed games in the series.
-
BW has some of the worst battle graphics in the series IMO. They're all horribly pixelated and the least visually appealing since like GSC on the Gameboy Color. That was one of the main reasons I skipped getting it.
-
I never did get why they went from gym leaders, elite four and champions having such involvement and presence in Gen V, to suddenly them being essentially pieces of cardboard waiting for you to topple them.
Also, a question in general to everyone excited about the puppy being a rock type… why? Rock types seems to me so much weaker than just being normal. A bunch more weaknesses against super common types, no immunity, and stab on moves that are generally unreliable and good against pokemon types that have much more exploitable weaknesses.

it's so that kids can know that within every rock puppy
is a Diamond Dog -

You'd think that but I tried playing a romhack of it a while back and it ran at about 1/2- 3/4 speed, and apparently that's consistent with any attempts to emulate that one. Dunno why. Something to do with the 3D environments emulating badly as opposed to stock 2D assets.
A strong graphics computer with a good video card might have no problems at all, but… compared to the earlier games that run smoothly on anything it's a difference.

Not really. They were better than any of the games that preceded it. Not as good as the current, but better than what came before.

Sheer variety sake. The starting zone mons tend to get phased out quickly because the bird, the rodent, and the random animal tend to be normal types so they get quickly replaced since normal stab hurts nothing effectively… especially since they tend to have awful stats, with maybe the exception of Stoutland or the three phase birds. Toss in the token 3 step butterflies in the inevitable second area and its just really repetitive that the first 20 or so monsters are always very samey. One of the reasons it was so great Talonflame developed a fire subtype.
It'd be the same excitement if it was ground or electric or fight or anything but normal.

Even DS games can run way slow if your computer's not great (like mine).

The first image looks way better to me.
!
-
The top one was single still images. The bottom was constantly moving animation. There's a significant different there.
But yes, I guess comparing them side by side they were a little more pixely. I have to assume its something to do with the resolution of the DS being higher versus the GBA, while still using some of the same assets or template.
-
Some Pokemon did look…off, in Gen V's animations.
-
Well. Some looked off because they were pretty much animating old sprites that already looked disproportionately off(like Lugia). But that isn't a huge problem considering the main campaign of BW was mostly focused on the new Pokermon… which for the most part looked really good animated.
I personally think it's the best looking Pokemon game in terms of battle graphics to date to be honest. Not in terms of backgrounds, but I feel like there was more personality to the sprite animations. XY, while had some pretty models and backgrounds.. has some of the most dull idle animations I've ever seen. Attack effects too. Even the Pokemon Stadium games I felt did a better job(then again, it there wasn't that many monsters or attacks back then). Guess all the budget went into the pointless ammie feature that I never once used.
-
Nothing inbetween Emerald and BW 1 was ever playable for me on emulator, meanwhile Gen V runs better than ORAS on 2ds. DPP lags on every corner, HSSS crashes into choppy mess and ruins saves. And there are no other roms to download. Hardware has almost nothing to do with it.
Wait… why skill swap? The ability keeps you safe from poison, burn and paralysis (and freeze I guess) while still allowing you to use rest. Unless you meant wanting to give it to an ally in doubles?
I mostly play doubles with skill swaping Magic Guard or Water Absorb on Slaking.
Also, I agree on more eeveelutions not being a bad thing, seeing how the concept of Eevee lends itself to it… but leave klefki out of this >=(
There should be an evolution looking like a tiny guy with keys, or big floating lock. To make it less "we needed to fill single spot in the dex and looked for inspiration on the meeting room table" random.
-
D/P ran like shit on DS, so that's not shocking.
-
I dunno, Zygrade's new appearances are cool, but it's always been a nobody legendary to me.
(although I suppose I'd peg Ho-Oh as my all time favorite)
No way, man. Lugia FTW.
-
I started with Gold, so Ho-oh will always have a place in my heart. Lugia's design was too sterile for my tastes, anyway.
-
Ho-oh is also my favorite legendary, heck I love a lot of Johto Pokemon, the cats are my favorite trio, Typhlosion is my favorite starter. I also fund Lugia a lot blander than Ho-oh, but I still like it.
-

Fair enough, though I would have been happier with considering using it if it were something else, like poochy being dark in Gen III or bunnelby being (or becoming?) ground in Gen VI.
But hey, maybe it evolves into steel and loses rock typing? Or maybe they can give it good stats to compensate for poor typing. I guess we'll see. I personally never use the early game normal, bird and bug pokemon, but if one came along that truly broke the mold that would be fun.
-
Lugia's beast and probably my favorite legendary. Silver was my first Pokemon game and I think Pokemon 2000 was the first Pokemon movie I saw. I think he looks way cooler than Ho-oh's puff of feathers. Just wish Lucia had an actual water STAB.
-
I don't think I realized until like 2009 that Lugia didn't actually have a Water-typing.
-
@Cyan:

No worse than me taking up til gen 3 or 4 to realize Dunsparce was a normal type Pokemon despite looking like a bug. How the hell does that make sense:wassat:
-
Still hoping for MegaDunsparce as a way to troll fans.
-
is mega dunsparce really a troll
Everyone I know unironically wants one -
The world isn't ready for Mega Dunsparce.
-
Ho-oh is also my favorite legendary, heck I love a lot of Johto Pokemon, the cats are my favorite trio, Typhlosion is my favorite starter. I also fund Lugia a lot blander than Ho-oh, but I still like it.
Damn straight, Gold/Silver will always be the best.
Ho-oh is too tacky looking, Lugia had style. And was a beast, was always in my party.
-
Lugia had style.
It did?
With those weirdly shaped wings/hands,pointy head, and boring blue and white color palette.
-
it feels weird being that guy whose favorite legendaries are Regigigas and Heatran
but someone has to i suppose -
For me the only legendary I will admit to outright liking is Shaymin, non-digimon form. That cute little hedgehog should have just been a regular pokemon, then I would have used it.
Then there's mew being super cute in the movie.
And then there's the legendaries that I can accept as ok, like Lugia, Mewtwo ('cause movie) and Xerneas ('cause Fairy)
Then there's the rest I don't care about
And at the very bottom of that list is the three blue mews and Manaphy from gen IV. Jesus shit do I hate those things.
-
I've always liked dunsparce. It was awesome. Especially with Serene Grace. It just kind of demands an evolution or a fairy typing or something.
-
I can see Dunsparce get a Mega with Dragon sub typing.
So Magearnas ability was also revealed. When a mon of its team faints it gets a SpAtk boost. Nice for Double Battles
-
I don't usually like legendaries(Lugia was my childhood fave, but then marketing and "Pokemon XD:Gales of Darkness" ruined it for me), but I ended up liking most of them in Gen 5. Victini, Meloetta and Genesect became my favorites for design and concept.
-
Darkrai is my favourite Legendary because he looks like a villain.
-
I always loved Articuno's and Suicune's designs! They are so elegant~ From the recent gens, I like Shaymin and Meloetta best.
-
I love Dunsparce. I run it if it's catch able in any game pre elite 4
-
Well…
Legendary wise
g1 - mewtwo
G2 - Lugia
G3 - Groudon
G4 - Darkrai
G5 - Zekrom
G6 - Yveltal
G7 - Solgaleo -

See, that might have been true, were it not for someone having the brilliant idea to have the camera constantly zoom in and out on the damn things. Or have them regularly rotating ever so slightly. Doing that just emphasized the lack of resolution in these things and made it look, quite frankly, super ugly. Give me the static sprites of Gen 2-4 (not 1. Gen 1's sprites were hideous) over that any day. Also it looked to me like the front- and back-sprites had the same resolution, yet the back-sprites were placed closer to the "camera" and so always looked bigger and even more pixelated. Like… seriously, GameFreak? I thought that looked bad as an eight-year-old playing Gen 1! And I thought you'd learned from that, being that Gen 2 didn't do that anymore!
…So yeah. I disagree. Gen's battles 5 looked hideous. Better than Gen 1, but worse than everything between the two. -
I always liked the first three Regis, since I'm a sucker for big mysterious-looking ancient robots. It's why I love Golurk, too. I don't think the Regis have great designs for pokemon, though. That's my issue with a lot of legends: they really just don't fit in with the pokemon. Like the Regis aren't nearly as bad as the D/P and B/W duos, who look like weird furry Gundams or something. A bunch of the others just look like weird little multicolored Peter Pans or other assorted fairy children. If I had to choose a favorite of the bunch between design and concept, I'd probably go with Ho-oh, which both looks like a real animal and has a very commanding presence.
I think I've yelled this idea at you guys before, but what I'd really want out of legendary pokemon is for them to be uncatchable ultrabeasts that are way more standard JRPG bosses that might take the effort of an entire team to fight than the slightly-better-than-average pokemon that you can only fight once that they are. It's really weird that you can one-shot the overlords of space and time, or catch god with a single quick ball or be literally forced to catch the living embodiment of death.
-
I've always wanted a game where someone beats you to the legendaries, and the ramifications for capturing the lords of nature, time, space, etc. become all the more apparent. Granted the idea is too "dark" for Pokemon, but imagine a kid the same age as yours growing up to be this universe overlord or something, making some kind of empire, etc. And not for some underlying reason, but because well…..does anyone normally stop your own character from capturing them?
totally not the plot I had for a third Colosseum-esque game -

totally not the plot I had for a third Colosseum-esque gameHow about this:
Say you're fighting Team Discord in the climax as you just barely prevent them from using the pokegod of chaos's powers to spread anarchy through the world. You ready your team for the final fight against the now freed beast of primordial strangeness when, out of the corner of your eye you spot a lone quick ball unceremoniously booping the legend on the nose. Three wiggles and a click, it captures, and walking up to claim it… Gary MOTHERFUCKING Oak. Then he puts on his shades, yells "OLD SCHOOL MEMES" and rides away on some motorbike. In a week's time, the earth has been carved in his shape.
-
just look at this precious baboo though
I want one to just chill with and be friends
