@Kishido:
Again that's not the main problem. I would love to see some Big Kom stuff even more with Capone being there as well.
I know there will be a flashback and I know the island with the woman they are is important. What the problem is that the whole reappearance of them felt random and was overshadowed by Kaidou. It would be like the return of the SHs after their training would be overshadowed by a big announcement.
And it is not about Sanji alone. The whole SHs aren't getting much love bar Luffy and maybe Zoro. That's my opinion but if people just think me is just bitching about Sanji. Let themm being free to do.
Strangely I loved MHQ arc… How is that possible?
I won't criticize your opinions, because frankly I don't know your reasons for not liking or not liking any particular story elements in One Piece.
However, I will say that it could likely be due to having expectations. Expectations are normal, and we all have them. It shows that we're invested in the characters and in the story and we want to see them react in ways that surprise us, but also make sense to their personalities. Sanji reacts to a situation differently from Nami would, which is altogether different from what Franky would do.
But the problem comes when we read too far ahead into what we think a character is supposed to do given any situation, and what we expect the outcome should be. This is what hype is.
Marineford was focused on Luffy and a whole cast of unknowns. We could all enjoy it because we have absolutely no idea what to expect out of anyone except Luffy, and that lets us focus on the story rather than on individuals and criticizing their every action. This is difficult to do when applied back to the Strawhat story arcs, because we've been with the crew with so long and we have so many expectations that it's hard for Oda to surprise us without 'breaking character'. Just look at Usopp's arc in Dressrosa, where he reverted back to being a weakling coward after what we would have expected to him to be a 'hero' after the time skip. Yet that whole story arc lead to one of the most surprising moments of him being raised to 'God Usopp' status out of pure luck. It was a great gag and it will build on Usopp's own confidence in the future. Sometimes a character has to drop to their lows to keep things fresh and unpredictable.
As for Sanji in general, I'm sure he will have his time in the light sooner or later. There's still a lot of moments left for him to shine. The best way to appreciate this is to sit back and enjoy the story rather than trying to break down every scenario that they're being faced and cross examining everyone's performances with each other. Like Usopp, Sanji's strengths always comes from him being brought down to extreme low points and watching him overcome those situations.
