President Valentine will make you believe in America again.
And will make you think of him EVERY TIME you are on a table with all its seats taken.

This show is cheesy, hammy, melodramatic, and over the top….......and yet hard to put down and the soundtrack? badass.
-
You know what? I think I need to take a moment to bask in and describe how absolutely awesome and surprisingly badass Steven Steel is; Lucy Steel too.
[hide]
For one, not only is his past a roller coaster of success and failure; but his relationship with Lucy is remarkable.
What at first appears to be a very fishy marriage between a 50 year old man and a 14 year old girl, is only a "marriage" in a very different sense. The gratitude that he feels for Lucy, and his willingness to save her from her fate; despite the implications it would have on him. Even then, it was Lucy who in turn wanted to marry him out of her own respect for Steven; an advance which he initially rejected, wanting her to live a normal life, but Lucy would not be swayed.
What followed was a "marriage" based around mutual respect and admiration; both devoted to each other. Lucy aiding and comforting Steven in his (often) moments of panic or worry, and Steven himself willing to protect Lucy at any cost. In the final fight with Valentine even when he was half dead, he carried Lucy to safety despite his mortal wounds.

I watched this finally (dub version) very good show definitely liked season 2 more though. I'm told it isn't really worth watching any further though

For most, part 3 and up is when the series really starts to find itself. Personally I find the "monster of the week" format it takes a bit repetitive, but the fights themselves typically are very interesting since, as I saw it put once, running up to a guy and punching the hell out of him while screaming Ora Ora Ora is less the objective and more the reward for successfully countering the enemy's powers.
-
@Cyan:
Who told you these lies.
Friend of mine did. I was planning on watching further anyway.
-
The consensus is that the lowest points of the series are either parts 1 or 5, depending on who you are. The rest are solid to excellent, though. Part 3 is the most popular and has lots of interesting shonen battles, though its format is repetitive and most of its characters are a little boring. The anime did a really great job with it, probably since the most budget that the series will ever see went into it.
-
Part 5 actually has some really creative and intense battles along with a main cast whose powers all really fill specific roles for their group. However, the translators who redid the rest of Jojo never finished part 5 so we are left with pretty poor translations on the second half of Vento Aureo that does a much poorer job portraying the characters. Also if you read part 4 before 5, you will kind of feel that Giornio rips off of some of Josuke's cool abilities even though Giornio's stand is entirely different.
People's opinions on the parts vary greatly. My personal favorite is 6 because of the setting, abilities of the main cast and the Jojo getting character development on a large scale (sure Johnny has more, but none of the Jojo's pre-Jolyne had any), but that part suffered commercially to the point where it was almost cancelled.
I suggest looking at brief descriptions of each part and just read one. People like to say to read them in order, but it really doesn't matter Araki likes to go out of his way to not make connections between parts based on Jotaro's "role" in part 5. You should probably read 2 before 4 and 3 before 6 but that is about it. 7 is a particularly good place to start since it is a different universe.
Though it looks like you have already watched half of part 3 so finish that first. The final battle of part 3 still has one of my favorite ridiculously tense moments in the whole series. The only disappointing thing about season 3 is that "Walk like an Egyptian" is no longer the end theme even though they are actually in Egypt.
-
What? No! God, no! Don't read the parts out of order!
Part 2 necessarily has to be read after 1, since it is the conclusion of the "mask" plot. Part 3 obviously can't come before them as well for obvious reasons.
Part 3 also need to be read before the other parts because it is more crude in the way Araki was starting to test the Stand formula, so the powers, the fights and the plot are pretty basic compared to the other parts (and reading SC after them would make it seem lackluster by comparison).
Part 6 also needs to be the last because it concludes (with a bang!) the "original universe" timeline. Not to mention that, for plot reasons, it can't be read before Part 3.
Parts 4 and 5 are the only ones you don't need to read in order. But they will still give you minor spoilers from the previous parts, you have to read 1-3 before them and 6 after them. So it really doesn't matter. And, lastly, Part 7 is full of homages to the original ones, reading it before them means you simply won't get any of those.

For the same reason, you can't really read part 8 without first reading part 4 (and, to a lesser extent, 5) since there are several cross references to catch.
-
It would be interesting to see what someone who reads part 7 first and then the rest in order feels.
-
Chapter 50 is a
! Flashback chapter, focusing on Josefumi's past/connection to Kira and the fruit

"Ug's question about part 6" part 2
[hide]In DIO's diary, he wrote the recipe to attain "heaven", but what "heaven" means in this context ? The creation of MiH ? The extinction of the Joestar family ? A new world where he would be alive ? If attaining heaven = the creation of MiH how this would benefit DIO if he was alive ?[/hide] -

And so by extension, he would still "win" even if he died.

Picturing DIO!!! writing a diary is almost as good as trying to imagine him relocating Polnareff on those stairs.

With the occasional ass pull and plot hole thrown in…....not that Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency didn't have a few themselves.

Last Train Home does fit better though considering the 2nd half is the end of the adventure…...and certain things of course that happen near the end.

Jose's Mom is best MILF.
chapter 50 -
Chapter out
Kinda weird seeing killer queen being used to help people. lol -
Sheer Heart Attack…Always save my patients.
-
I really like this new take on "Yoshikage Kira". I approve this new development.
But on the other hand, I thought it was explained that S&W had Josefumi's ability to take things and Killer Queen's ability to use bubbles. Now Josefumi can use bubbles too? And the little we saw from his Stand's face this time, it was identical to S&W. In the end I suppose S&W will be Josefumi's Stand and Josuke's S&W will be just the same without any Killer Queen traits.
-
What did josefumi mom do? She stood there for how long before acting why?
-
What did josefumi mom do? She stood there for how long before acting why?
Either she was too scared and confused or she was debating whether to just let him drown to have an easier life. Kira's line to her indicated the latter.
-
Looks like Josefumi definitely has Josuke's character trait of wanting to help other people; that's nice to see.
I gotta say though, that panel with Killer Queen was fabulous as FUCK. I think Akari had a lot of fun drawing him again, considering how much he said he loves KQ's design.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Though I will admit that I'm a bit confused as to how Josefumi's original "Soft and Wet" managed to reattach the tree branch.

Another thing I liked in this chapter. Fathers are usually dicks in manga, but mothers are always great. In the end his mother ended up saving him, but, still, it was good to see her allowing her child do drown (… this phrase sounded much better in my head).
And I am really surprised with Josuke's backstory coming so soon. Jojolion never excited me, but I am starting to see great potential in it (Joubin needs to appear more, though).
-
What the hell is the deal with Holly's hair? Its kinda like she is wearing a hood and at the same time don't.
-
Killer Queen Still looking great after all these years.

JoJo's hair physics are out of this world. It's just like Jotaro's hair fused with his cap.

I guess being confused about anything Jojo related is the same to say you are confused why the sun will rise tomorrow.

Fixed that for you.

How old was Kira when he used KQ on Josefumi?
Edit: Titanic is a 97 movie, the flashback on chapter 49 is set on 09 and Kira was 27, so he was 15.
Also, the eyes sockets on S&W seem a bit different from Josefumi´s stand, or is it just me? It also doesn´t seem to have the little side "horns".

I also didn´t get that.
A wild guess, maybe he absorbed the branch natural property that allows it to attach with time and released it, speeding up the process. -
Made by me.
Because it's the truth. And nothing can convince me otherwise.

And Crazy Fabulous Diamond
Josuke look fabulous as ever, I'm really digging the new artstyle. Crazy D is awesome.Plus, the new opening will be called Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town

Crazy Diamond looks fantastic.
-
Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town sounds like a pretty kick-ass title.
I'm sure we won't know what the ED theme is until the show starts airing and I wouldn't have it any other way. Having it be a surprise is much better.
-
Morioh is a Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town, so yeah it fits.
-
It's a great name. Especially because it sounds like the Duwang version of itself.

Still hoping for All Star by Smashmouth as the ending theme. Or hell, even 1999 by Prince. I don't care as long as it's something from 1999, if they keep up the trend of using songs from their respective timelines.

I think the director of the anime mentionned that they pick the ending theme based on what Araki was listening to at the time, meaning something from 1999 sounds unlikely.

Didn't knew Roundabout was that old…

I remember seeing a Lovesexy cd hanging out in one of the part 4 author comment photos, so I'm gonna call for "I Wish U Heaven" at least for the second half, where it might be more fitting. The video even has kind of a "scrolling end theme" vibe
