I wouldn't worry that much about his health, more like his declared intentions to end the whole thing in a decade or so. It sounds like a lot of time, but with arcs getting as long as Dressrosa, either he starts doing some shorter 20-25 arcs here and there, or there's just not enough time to fill the 100 or so plot-points/characters/fashbacks/worldbuilding elements he has set up beforehand and all but promised to develop one day.

At least another 15-16 years would be needed for this, but he's been pretty clear on the decade thing, I seem to remember, so. . .I don't know how he'll do it. (Seems a bit counter-productive to state that and then make Dressrosa the longest arc in the series, though. . .)

That's a good point, surely can't be seen that right now. Fact is luffy is still way before having a kid ;P I see fuji like smoker 2.0, I think in the future they will cross path often, as now smoker most likely will be that guy, but is still too weak.
I still see coby too weak also to go against luffy, i thought coby would be the one leading the new marines navy once luffy destroys akainu, after one piece is found and the happy ending is coming. anyway is too early, it's only speculation :)
it's not given also that relationship should follow the previous gold roger format, even if oda is surely prone to generalization.

You're making the mistake of looking at part of the word, and not the whole word.
忌み名 means "true name". It's not shunned or taboo in itself, it's called that because it's a name that should be avoided to be addressed by others, especially when you are in a high position.

It's "taboo" to call someone (especially when they're royalty) by their true name.
It's not a cursed name or any of that sort, the stigma is not with the name, but with the addressing.

Homing's flaw was he identified with the tenryubito more than with human, that is to say he saw himself as tenryubito and that tenryubito happened to be human. He empathizes more with his fellow tenryubito, hence the reason he approaches then with his decision, he wanted to consider the viewpoint of his peers as people often do. This is also why they react as such, they understand Saint Homing to mean that he is as much tenryubito as them and he is human so in turn that must mean they are all human.

IF instead Homing would of saw himself as human that happened to be tenryubito, then when he would consider what his peers would think, he would think on what a fellow human would think of his decision, and the closest non-tenryubito humans to him is slaves, so he probably could of came to a much more valid view of how things may play out if he left the aegis of tenryubito.

Yeah, but it seemed to me like it wasn't an "estimation" (this arc will last 1 year, then that arc lasts 2 years, then. . .and all done in a decade!) but Oda's personal desire to be done with One Piece in that period of time. Not like he's tired of it or anything, just. . .he has a family, he's been going at it for almost 20 years so far, no need to make a 40 years manga in his mind, I guess.

I got the feeling he was about to speed things up honestly, though seeing how Dressrosa will probably be 80 chapters long at the very, very least. . .I honestly don't know anymore.

But we just learnt that those panels had a meaning to Law since he was poisoned as child and he knew the meaning of it and Is not like Chopper was useless, he saved Mocha who was on the verge of dead due to an overdose and he shined but people seems to forget that small detail about the arc and just focus on what Law did but that's none of my problem.

We've been over this a couple of times, and it's true we now got Law's past to account for but. . .Law just showed us NO emotion or involvement with the saving the kids whatsoever, he just. . .did it. To him that wasn't more emotionally challenging than tying his shoes. It wasn't something he HAD to do because he saw tons of kids, one of them his sister, die horrible deaths when he was young. In fact, from the very beginning he was mighty annoyed they were going to save the children, and he only went with it cause Luffy insisted on Nami's and Chopper's behalf. Look, I do think Oda is two or three steps above his peers when it comes to plan stuff ahead of time, but writing a WEEKLY comic is still hard and demanding as all hell, Oda cannot have every single detail planned in advance, no way. It's just not humanly possible.

You just can't judge things retroactively and add a deeper meaning to past scenes, or at least not ALWAYS, and this is the case here; everything pointed towards Law not even wanting to bother with the kids, not before, not during, nor after curing them. Read it again if you don't believe me (I re-red the whole arc a lil while ago). And Chopper was emotionally involved with that plot point the whole time, and all he did was momentarily save Mochia's life; Law just basically took all the poison from their bodies and save all their collective lives with a magic trick, and ta-dah, it's done! So. . .yeah. Chopper did what he could and it could've been cool, or even a chance for him to despair at his failure to come up with a way to save their lives, but it all ended with a gag and problem solved. No worries since Oda has something planned for Chopper later down the line (missing numbered chapter and all that jazz), but that doesn't mean he didn't handle that whole thing rather poorly.

It's less about Law caring about the kids and more about Oda showing that the Ope Ope can cure poisoning as a plot point.

It would be one hell of a plot hole if it turned out Law could cure poison since his childhood but didn't do anything for the kids.

To give my two cents, It was Chopper's idea to save the children in the first place. I do think that Law handed him the note as a reasonable and logical explanation for who did it. I would've enjoyed it if it was Chopper and Law working together to solve the problem with the kids somehow instead of Law removing the poison only. I mean, Chopper's goal is to be the best doctor in the world and He did a good job with Mocha. I just wanted it to be a shared moment of heartwarming with Chopper as the doctor and Law as the nurse in terms of who assisting who. Without any indication of Law caring about the children it didn't work as a aaaw moment for me even with hindsight of Law's past as what was shown about it in flashbacks at the moment.

You're neglecting one important fact.

Law is a doctor that specialises in surgery while Chopper is a doctor that specialises in medicine.

They work in completely different fields. Chopper isn't knowledgeable on surgery, therefore he shouldn't be able to save or work on someone who needs it.

Law is specifically referred to as a surgeon and Chopper works on medicine only. There should be no confusion when it comes to this unless you didn't know that there are certain types of doctors that work on different fields.

Chopper has never performed a surgery and has no insight to doing so. Last I checked, he wanted to cure illnesses. I don't understand how someone can get upset because he didn't do something that he has no real knowledge of and get mad at someone who's an expert on the subject.

That's equivalent to me complaining about Luffy not defeating someone with swordsmanship simply because he specialises in combat. He specialises in combat, but a different form of combat.

If you recall from his back-story, being "sick" is more than just diseases and illnesses - think back on cases like Cindry and Mocha. There's more to Chopper and his dream, than just medicine.

Oh and yeah Law is a surgeon, that's another reason why he'd be a great asset as an ally. I personally don't think he took away anything away from Chopper at the end of Punk Hazard, Law commented something about the kids when he was talking to Caesar and it makes much more sense now.

Law was disgusted by Clown's willingness to use kids as guineapigs for his experiment and correct me if I'm wrong because my memory can be wrong, but didn't Law mentioned that He doesn't want to save the kids due to time and only did it because Luffy mentioned that Nami and Chopper wanted to help the children. Which is a contradiction with his later action.

You still not getting it so is useless to keep on this forever and the reason that I posted that was because If the Strawhats need a surgery as such it will have to be performed by a doctor, who is a doctor, Chopper and for the record I never said that Law wasn't a surgeon I said that Doctors are not bound by a label on the OP world meaning that they can do anything that needs to be done in order to save a life.

Eh you are probable right about where it was at, I would've like to think that if Law and Chopper worked together to save the kids that would've been awesome instead of Chopper thinking He was trying to kill the kids. Shrugs shoulder. I'm hoping for the two doctors to team up in the future and I agree with you Law's bedside manners seem to be lacking.

He was attending an academy for medical science and learned the more intricate procedures from his father who was the best doctor in the country at the mere age of 10.

His DF only makes surgeries easier. He himself has advanced medical knowledge.

It has nothing to do with Chopper being a surgeon or not. Oda could have easily invented a medical procedure to allow Chopper to save them the same way he invented the drug in the first place.

But Law had to save them from poisoning because we know he had saved himself from poisoning once, and that is an important part of his backstory. If he hadn't, we would be here wondering why he didn't.

It would be like if Ace ran away from Akainu despite the fact that, in his youth, never running away was one of his established character traits.
