Koji Wada's Digimon songs (well, the German versions of them) is one of the reasons why I got into anime. They always pumped me up, whenever they showed up in an episode and it's one of anime's habits I still really do like.

also i saw the digimon emperor briefly appears later on.. my gut feeling is that it's somehow Ken's deceased brother… just saying as a Ken fan..

Movie 3 synopsis is out. Brace yourselves, big developments are going to happen:

**Upon seeing Meikuumon’s abrupt transformation and killing of Leomon, before disappearing to the other side of the distortions, Taichi and co. are unable to hide their agitation.

“If Meikuumon has been infected, I want to know what caused it. Could there have been initial symptoms? When did the infection occur?”
While coming to terms with the situation that has gone beyond his imagination, Koushiro wracks his brains on what he can do to counter it.

However, finding no effective methods, he presses Meiko with questions in order to get whatever information he can.
“Please, you have to remember. We need more information in order to figure out the cause of infection.”
Meiko, hanging her head, is unable to answer…

Agumon and the other Digimon are kept isolated in Koushiro’s office in order to prevent them from infection, but signs of infection begin to appear in Patamon…
At the same time, Agumon and the others learn an important secret about the Digital World through Hikari’s voice.

“The time… draws near…”

And when Meikuumon appears once more to battle them, that “time” arrives.
Taichi and co. are agonized by the secret that was revealed to them.
As each of their feelings intertwine, they make a decision.
“If I wait to do something ‘someday,’ I’ll end up a grown adult before I even know it.”

Now, the adventure evolves once again…**

Great news! I also heard that the original english dub VA for Tentomon is returning. Really excited for this!

Joshua Seth is back as Tai, and Sora, Izzy and Mimi are back as well (older TK's actor has a role as another character, which is fine by me). The rookies are mostly back aside from Gatomon and Biyomon; not sure what kept their original actresses from coming back, and I liked them, but oh well. They're now being done by Kate Higgins and Cherami Leigh, so they'll be decent at the very least.

A new interview has come out. It's in japanese only, but someone managed to disect the most interesting parts. Careful, it contains spoilers from the second movie.

! > There is no mastermind behind the Infection, or at least, it's truer to say there's no mastermind behind it (which seems to suggest that maybe someone was involved in its creation, but unintentionally?), but there is a _reason behind it.

Meiko and Meicoomon have been partnered for roughly the same time that the 01 gang and their Digimon have been.

The black cube is something we've seen in the series before (it's not clarified if they mean it's something we've seen in Adventure before, or something that's appeared in the franchise as a whole before), and the egg it lands in is deliberately meant to look like Tailmon's egg - so it is, in all likelihood, Meicoomon's.

Huckmon might be fulfilling a role similar to the one Gennai would. Something has happened to Gennai, and this is an important plot point.

Meiko's father is a researcher of some kind. Meiko was aware that Meicoomon was special, but didn't know she would mutate like she did at the end of Determination (it's specifically referred to as a mutation, not an evolution). Similarly, the pattern that appears on Meiko's digivice is relevant to the nature of Meicoomon's mutation.

The Mystery Man specifically created the dimension in Determination so that Gomamon and Palmon would be the only partners able to enter, for whatever reason.

We also get a little more evidence towards Patamon not evolving to Seraphimon, since we're told that they felt the story of Patamon being infected works better if it's Patamon - but the language they use makes it very unclear as to whether that applies to the movie itself, or is just true of their marketing strategy. Specifically, they talk about how to 'accurately portray the story in the visual images', so it could mean 'Seraphimon isn't in this film because we think the story works better if he's not' or 'Seraphimon is in the film, but we've purposely excluded him from our marketing because we think it communicates the elements of the story we want to market more clearly if he's not.'_

This movie hit me in the feels far more times than I can count.

So the "the future that shouldn't have been chosen" was this? Because after this huge development now the possibilities are infinite.

I mean…

! Mugendramon is in the new poster for crying out loud! The reboot revived all digimon, evil ones included.

This was my favorite Film so far. The pacing and story felt more fluid than the first two chapters, though so realize this story wouldn't have worked just on its own merit and needed the first two films to reach this point.

But otherwise it was great. The messages were very solid. Scenes that were meant to be heartbreaking were heartbreaking. And the bonding between the Digimon and humans were sweet. And nice to see Joe upbeat and Mimi being Mimi again after Chapter 2.

Still odd points though story wise.

! Why are the Digidestined other than Izzy so passive in figuring stuff out? They seemed to drop finding Ken and the others once they said they're alright by the shady government.
! Furthermore, they are not doing nearly enough to question the shady government and hold their words as truth and not really questioning why they know so much. Izzy's definitely preoccupied with finding a solution to the infection, but imagine what could've been if they've pushed harder on finding questions by the government?
! But I'm glad the films really emphasize knowledge IS power. Secrets made things bad. If the group was more honest and transparent, maybe a better solution would've been found.
! Lastly, I can't tell if it's a commentary on the real world today or just meta commentary of the show, but I laughed regardless when they said no one will be mentioning Digimon after a year or so.

I agree. Nobody really cares about the 02 kids. The ones that mattered were part of the 01 group anyways lol.

Are we getting more movies still after this? I've forgotten what their plan was for production.

I think they're going with six movies, so there's three more to go.

I'll need to figure out where I can watch these - I really enjoyed Digimon back when it was on TV, and I'd be interested to see how they develop the characters from the original series.

AAAH. This movie. I think the scene with TK and Patamon still hit me the most, though the pain throughout this was really well done. Great character writing.

I didn't cry or anything, but I literally was like "AAAH, no stop it." when that scene happened.

It's entirely possible they'll all get the memories back, but it was still very effective to me. Also, maybe there's the same memory thing somehow going on with the 02 kids?

Lol, now they're doing it with the guys too. They make these posters because many fans really do prefer posters with the protagonist having fun with "wacky" costumes instead of meaningful posters. Especially considering the fact that these are not key-visuals, they are just images that are used for backgrounds of articles in magazine, so no one should take them seriously!
