Chapter 731: "Dressrosa Operation SOP"

It was suggested by Whitebeard that somebody will appear to carry on the Will of Roger and Ace. I thought it was Luffy, so I don't really know why Sabo would be the one to inherit Ace will.

That's why I say he won't get past Burgess.

I am really confused about this chapter, personally Sabo being alive isn't something that amazing to me since i always knew he was alive, pretty boring but had a quite of Dialog which Oda needed to insert to explain events happening. I would say good story progression as to what Trebols role is, who the toy fruit user is and how she works, Bellamys devotion, Dellingers strength, where the factory is and where the deals take place, how Tontatta plan on getting there, the plans to do it. Also showing how D block was going, it was good to see how Rebecca is going and that she has a friend helping her to get to the finals.

Bellamy seems to be a "Double Agent", he loves Doflamingo no matter what he does to him but helps Luffy get out to beat him up. Bellamy has gotten his act together but he is seriously torn apart on what to do even though he doesn't actually say it.

Good story progression but personally boring on my part, more interested to see Fujitora and his decision, Doflamingo and his decisions, Violets influence on the Marines and what Big Mom will be doing if she stays around the other strawhats and if she will capture, follow or give up on them. Currently the Revolutionaries, Marines, Donquixote family and Big Moms decisions need to be known which will probably be mentioned in the next couple of chapters. Once we have this information we can see where this Arc is going to end up.

I don't think there will be another break until after 2-4 weeks. I can't remember the timetable off the top of my head.

I personally found Koala appearing more impressive than Sabo.
Maybe it's because it was because everyone expected a return at some point, or maybe it was because someone spoiled it…

Nobody really expected Koala to become a Revolutionary who knows Fishman Karate.

Sabo was going to appear sooner or later, but surely as a strong guy.

Very slow, deliberate, and non-direct way of bringing Sabo back. Never see above the torso, his face is never shown, and his name is never mentioned in the chapter. But just through the suggestive imagery and call-backs, we can deduce who it is.

Considering Luffys words and reaction, the three cups, Aces attachment, Koalas assurance we can guarantee that it is Sabo. Maybe his face could have been deformed because he was seriously injured but rescued by the Revolutionaries, i can't remember the chapter but it is in episode 504.

He may have a spandam sort of face (LOL, spitballing.

The only thing I'm a bit miffed on is that we may not see Sabo in his full glory for a while with him wearing that disguise.
And I'm beginning wondering why Bellamy has such strong admiration for Flamingo. I mean he's been treated like shit a lot so why take it all?

He's similar to Gin. I guess he's seen a side of Doflamingo that he likes and respects more than his vicious and cruelness.

Ok, so in my opinion it's a little too early for Sabo to come back as a full character, I'd like it if he beat Burgess, took the fruit, and left with a quick goodbye to Luffy without any answers for us to see him a little more fully down the road in a couple more arcs.

The grammar of this translation is pretty spotty, but the translation seems accurate and the scan itself is nowhere near the eyesore that MangaPanda is.

I thought Luffy crying was a bait and switch, but Sabo really did show his face this soon. Very surprising. Also, the presence of the "revolutionaries" makes this whole Dressrosa conflict practically as major as Marineford. Who knew they cared so much about Ace's fruit? Looks like Sabo carries quite a bit of weight in the organization.

Speaking of which, I doubt I would have believed the spoiler if I read it since it was always one of those joke predctions (suddenly, Sabo appears!)

Even though I just as amped up about the Sabo reveal as everyone else, the arc is just becoming too much of a clusterfuck. I just don't know how Oda will be able to effectively manage 100+ named Characters, many of which are important outside the arc, and get away without causing collateral damage to One Piece as a work.

You know a lot of people myself included actually thought at first that Sabo appearing this chapter is kind of awkward. But after having thought about it a bit more, it makes a lot of sense:

It has been stated that Dress Rosa under DD's rule is a mini version of the corruption of the WG
Luffy recalling Grey Terminal this chapter and making the connection
The country is ready for revolution, to overthrow DD and what he represents (Celestial Dragons, WG, slavery, etc.)
Since the beginning of the series we have heard of the Revolutionaries busy "liberating" countries. What better and more ripe a country than current Dress Rosa?
Ace's fruit being advertised as the prize was probably the icing on the cake for Dragon sending Sabo

Koala's return shows once more that Oda is a genius among mangakas when it comes to world building. There is not a single thing in this manga that doesn't hold some significance to a certain extent.

Sabo will probably end up with the Mera Mera no Mi. Getting back the will he passed to Ace when he disappeared is something Oda won't miss, I think. I hope we will get some/more interaction between Koala/Robin and Sabo/Luffy later in this arc.

This arc is getting better and better. This is crazy.

OMG… Thank the mighty that i didnt read any spoiler... Cuz that was a very unexpected, very Oda-like surprise. SABO is here and he's strong as hell if he can just push aside bartholomew like a prop tree. im guessing his face is still identifiable judging by luffy reaction. But not exactly the same as the one on the chapter opening page of the trio ( i forgot which one but i think its shortly after the marine war). Adding a few scars and tattoo should add his badass cred. and... dont forget the hat, which i assume he still be using.

That's how I interpreted the piece of dialogue. It could very well be Luffy and him as brother, but there is a lot of "off panel" happenings as well. I don't want to butcher such a sentimental chapter. LOL

this will really destroy the hype for Burgess if he's taken out easily, it would be extremely destructive to the build up of the final battles, but there's no way he just introduced sabo and is gonna have him lose

When I was looking at the spoilers and saw Sabo's name, I sincerely thought Redon was joking. It wasn't until I saw the raw that I actually understood that Sabo was back.
