I forgot who said it a few weeks ago, but theyre completely right: the Celtics are the best mediocre team in the NBA!!!
Freaking trade deadline cannot come sooner, its gonna be pandemonium…

| *At the courtesy of svanmali, here it is:Went to the Lakers “Chalk Talk” for AMEX Season Tix holders this morning at Staples.
Some alarming observations:
- Kobe and Dwight did not say a word to each other the whole 2.5 hours we were there. It didn’t look like they hated each other but it looks like they don’t care.
- Same goes for Nash and Dwight
- Pau and Dwight seem to get along fine. Pau makes aggressive low post moves in practice but in the game……
- Dwight and Pau spent more time on shooting long jumpers and 3’s than any pick and roll work or low post moves
- Nash is a PURE shooter obviously , hit 17 3’s in a row at one point. Not sure why he wont look for his shot a little more
- Meeks seems like another Sasha in the making. Dude was just like Nash and couldn’t miss. First one out on the floor.
- Metta looked like he had a long night out, would be surprised if he has a good game tonight
- Now the truly scary part….Dan D’Antoni looks to be the real mastermind behind the team. He actually had the team running drills and acted like a coach. Mike would not correct players mistakes even on simple drills that most of us ran in high school.
- All the assistant coaches except for Bickerstaff look like they want to be the players friends than actually coach them. This was especially true for Darvin Ham and Dwight.
- If this shoot around was any indication of how a “championship” team practices or prepares, we are in trouble. I have been to plenty of these Chalk Talks and Open Practices and I haven’t seen another Laker team look so uninterested.
- They practiced their defensive schemes for 8 minutes and Jamison couldn’t get it right.
- Kobe raffled off his shoes and obviously the crowd went wild. Issue was you could tell Dwight would love to have that attention from the crowd and was probably use to it in Orlando. He would peek over his shoulder whenever he saw the crowd cheered kobe’s makes. Sadly, the crowd never really cheered for Dwight except for when they wanted him to also raffle his shoes.

Lol so D12 is jealous of Kobe? Is that what's going on? He obviously wants to be the alpha male, but a few days ago he stated basketball isn't about being a wolf pack, there are no "alpha males".
Clearly they both dislike each other. So yeah, this just further emphasizes the problem with the chemistry, or lack thereof, in this case.
d12 hill and pau out for the road trip against rockets, spurs, okc, etc.
lol.
Great win for the Celtics after the BULLSHIT Rondo suspension…
Normally I don't get mad about officiating if the Celtics win, but WOW. There were horrible calls on both sides....probably 60% of the them were on the Celtics. Refs are so bad this year. Its like they're being paid by the call
Celtics are way different without Rondo of course, but it goes without saying that Felton adds a different dimension to his team as well. Yes. Felton. That fat bastard actually isn't bad. Without him, the Knicks jack 3s even more than they normally do...
Anyways, the defense locked in well for the Celtics and even though Terry is as ice cold as an eskimo tit, got enough points on the board to win. So happy for this bi-polar team. Time for a 5 game homestand against beatable ballclubs
! That late whistle almost killed me….Bass played too physical, forced the miss, went for the rebound, got the rebound, secured the rebound, and THEN THE FOUL WAS CALLED. What the FUCK is that?
Oh man, I remember when Laker haters were just jelly of the Lakers and kept saying stupid shit like LOL YOU GUYS SUCK when in fact that wasn't clearly the case and quite far from the truth
I miss that. Now everyone outside of SoCal (excluding Clippers lol) hates them, aren't afraid of them like they used to be, consider them a pushover and the laughingstock of the league, and when they say LOL YOU GUYS SUCK, there's just nothing more truthful.
The tough life of a MN punter.

oops wrong thread
Congrats, Seattle! The NBA may be back in your city!
But it'll be the kings. Sorry guys. Sorry Sacramento. :/
Jeff Green on the one-year anniversary of his heart surgery
My God Durant is such a fucking asshole
I hate OKC so much. Especially Turtlebrook.
why are these fucking cocky ass fuckers still in the game even when winning by like 100.. #SOHUMBLE #NOARROGANCE yeah fucking right KD's stat padding at this point and they just want to cut them open pour massive amounts of salt in and decimate it with a fucking flamethrower
yes I'm mad. that's not humble. KD's starting to piss me off ever since that ejection he got. Starting to succumb into the corruption of being a superstar. I don't give a shit if his moms in that stupid commercial with him he's not as humble as any of you think. At least not anymore
fuck this lakers team this season was a complete and utter failure and y'all probably laughing your asses off at me and the rest of lakernation and the lakers for this piece of shit season. drink my tears fuckers. :'(
Corruption? What corruption? He wants to win. He's a competitor. I cant really say much else since I didnt watch the game, but Durant is far from being "corrupted"
From what I heard going into this season, Durant's goal was to become meaner on the court and save the nice stuff for afterwards. The feeling is that attitude is more successful at winning championships. So… it sounds like he's succeeding. Anyway, it's not some kind of "corruption." Rather it's a planned change in attitude that their team is pushing for. I say good for Durant for being able to pull it off.
I'm also kind of amused that every 3rd post in this thread or so is a refill of Guerta tears. They make me feel like the Lakers are now the first team in NBA history with a record below .500 for the season.
Minnesota is hysterical to watch right now. So many injuries that there have been lineups on the floor with Louis Amundson and Greg Stiemsma playing AT THE SAME TIME.
So sad.
Also, I love the post about Durant's arrogance stemming from his ejection, since it's one of my favorite ejections of all time:
!
I love the fact that he makes sure to give the kids high-fives as he leaves.
Sorry, Durant is awesome.
I was really pissed off, I'm over that shit. I still hate OKC tho. I guess KD is just "not nice" only on the court.
I still feel D12 is a cancer. When the going gets tough, he wants to leave. He got SVG fired and pretty much gave the finger to Magic fans, came to the Lakers hoping to be the center of attention and is now upset because he's not the leading man or the alpha male of the Lakers. If he ends up leaving, I'm not even gonna complain. I honestly hope he never wins a ring. He's a clown. I may have shitted on Lebron in the past but that guy earned his ring because of hard work and a clear motivation. He fought hard for the ring, regardless of 2 stars on his team (every star has had help in winning rings, anyway. Hakeem was the closest to winning without help. I'm over that whole LOL HE NEEDS SO MUCH HELP bs. Sure, it's 3 top 10 players when he got the ring, so maybe that's a bit too much, but that's in the past).
I'm starting to question how the hell he led the Magic to the finals in 09. JVG just straight went in on him and the relationship with Kobe. He criticized that twitter pic they took and said there's obviously a flawed relationship if they're taking that picture to show there was nothing going on. Said you don't have to announce you're friends or even like each other. He's right. You're a "professional". You have to be better than that. Sure he's a bit biased for D12 getting his brother fired but what he says is just pure truth. You love him or hate him, and I love JVG.
I'm starting to question how the hell he led the Magic to the finals in 09.
The East was blew wide open that year when Garnett got injured. The Pistons lost some of their touch at that point, so the Magic's biggest competition was the Cavs, who had no answer for Howard at all. It also helped that Turkoglu decided to play out of his mind that year for no apparent reason
smh at Wade's comments and comparing it to the WTC.
Also
Lol.
But as always, people will continue to blame Kobe for the lakers losing this season, all the way until his career ends. He knows this though.
This only comes from Yahoo Sports and ESPN with a bunch of clueless fans. In other more respectable basketball places people actually watch the games. Kobe is not the problem for this team, lmfao. But everyone will try and turn it around against him all the time.
I challenge Gueta not to post here until the Lakers get to .500 :)
8 of the 10 All-Star starters are either from LA, Boston, or Miami….
KG and Kobe both get their 15th bid. Bryant got all of his consecutively
I knew this was gonna be a tough game, and it was. Bulls win again in overtime. And on an unbalanced shot by Belinelli too.
Butler did well in OT, scoring 6 straight points, with 13 points total.
This is the best Boozer has played since he came to Chicago. I think this is his 10th game with a double-double, or 11th? Anyway, he's playing great ball right now. Same with Noah.
Bulls have played great on the road this season, winning their 12th road game and are 9-2 on the road since december. But they really need to lessen the turnovers.
And I hope Deng's hamstring injury isn't too bad.
not gonna mention the lakers
seattle, you have basketball back now… officially. Congrats...?
Hey guys.
How are y'all doing? What, the Lakers? Oh… oh....
OH…...........
You poor thing, you.
Lakers wont even make the playoffs haha
laughs hysterically like Black Beard
I challenge Gueta not to post here until the Lakers get to .500 :)
Okay, this time I'm serious :ninja:
All-Star voting needs some serious overhaul.
Players who didn't even deserve to make it will START, while more deserving guys will not even participate.
4 players from under-achieving teams with a LOSING record are starting… Has this ever happened? Also, Lin almost made it to the starting line-up over Paul. That would have been an epic fail.
Anyways, what's your guess for the reserves?
Mine are
WEST
Harden
Curry
Randolph
Duncan
Lee
Westbrook
Parker
EAST
Holiday
Irving
George
Chandler
Lopez
Boozer
Jennings
I hope that the coaches look at where the merit stands in each team and don't just get fooled by the big names. I don't want to see Bosh or Deron Williams instead of other young deserving guys, just because they are "stars", they're not having All-Star-caliber seasons.

seriously? Boozer over Noah just because he played great for a month or so and has 10+ double doubles?
and nothing against Paul George, hes playing incredibly efficient Basketball since mid december. But I think if you put him into the game you can also give Lillard the same credit (yes I know he is "just" a rookie). He has a great impact on his team
and also.. why the hell is Dwyane Wade a starter? It seems there aren't that many great players in the East
Boozer and Jennings will not make it. Noah is very likely. I'd like to see Josh Smith make it as well.
Dont be surprised to see Bosh get picked again as well as Pierce, although they dont deserve it
I will not be surprised to see Bosh and PP, I will just be disappointed.
Yeah I admit that putting Boozer in was kind of a stretch, but I just don't see Noah making it. And Boozer is playing really well to be honest. Anyway I think the Bulls awesome season so far has to be rewarded, so if it's not Boozer or Noah, Deng must be selected.
And I would select Lillard because I think he deserves it, but I don't see the coaching selecting him as very realistic, I don't think it will happen.
Yea the guards in the west are too much for Lillard. With CP3, Kobe, Westbrook, Harden, Parker, and Curry existing he'd be lucky to make it in the next 3 years, let alone this one.
I'm trying so hard not to literally explode here. Don't count this as a post because I didn't say anything about….
I like this
All-Star reserves
WEST- Parker, Randolph, Harden, Aldridge, Westbrook, Duncan, Lee
EAST- Chandler, Bosh, Holiday, George, Irving, Deng, Noah
–-------------------------
A little surprised with Aldridge and Bosh. Sucks for Josh Smith, I believe he still hasn't made an all-star team yet in his 9-year career. Parker will most likely lose his spot to Curry or Lillard when he starts to decline.
@'ko:
You're one of the few that do
Glad to see Irving there, disappointed to not see Boozer, Blopez, and especially Curry.
Celtics drop ANOTHER game due to poor shooting. We were supposed to be a better offensive team as compared to last year, but basically everyone is underperforming.
Anyways, for a team with only one big thats an above-average defender the Celtics are looking like a hell of a defensive unit. But their efforts are spoiled if they miss dozens of open shots. Bleh…the streakiest team in the NBA. 4 losses, 6 wins, now 5 losses
Why are New Orleans changing their logo?
The franchise recently got a new owner and the Hornets are more known for their days in Charlotte.
Its a different situation from the Sonics turning into the Thunder, but the intention is the same: the owner wants the team to have a new identity
I think Pelicans is a silly mascot. But I tend to like strong menacing mascots for sports teams. I understand that it has some significance for the state.
That said I do actually really like that new logo. It looks cool. I didn't think it would. I guess I was thinking they would go with a more cartoony look. This doesn't look out of place for an NBA team at all, imo.

It's really funny how some people use the "Pelicans it's not a fearsome name" argument. What's fearsome about a Clipper? Or a Knick? Or a Spur? Or a Laker?
I like the fact that the name actually has a meaning related to the place where the team is (a really rare thing nowadays, as most team names don't make sense at all) and the logo is cool. Only thing is, the colors are a bit too similar to Cleveland's.
Regarding All-Star reserves, I'm really, REALLY mad. Steph Curry out and Aldridge in? That's a joke.
And what is Bosh doing exactly to deserve it more than B. Lopez? Especially when his team already has 2 All-Stars, while Brooklyn has NONE? He's the best offensive center at the moment IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE.
The coaches messed up big time
What's fearsome about a Clipper? Or a Knick? Or a Spur? Or a Laker? Absolutely nothing at all this season, lmfao.
I think the coaches were pissed at D Will for getting Avery Johnson fired, so maybe that's why neither him, nor Johnson, nor B. Lopez got in. I would have loved to see Lopez in, though. Same with Curry. GS wouldn't be in the position they're in without him at all.

There are almost always 5 guards and 7 forwards/bigs. Only in special cases can a player like George or Iguodala count either way if the coaches really feel that someone should get in. Curry's done well but he hasnt done as much as Westbrook, Parker, and Harden. And he's obviously a guard so he cant slip in with the wing exception
Yeah there is nothing fearsome about those either. Which is why I wouldn't pick those for my team. Just my preference. I wasn't too hot about Thunder either, and I still think that logo is lame. I'm just picky about my mascots, in all sports. But like I said, I do like that Pelican logo so I am fine with it.
Clippers can't seem to get it done without Paul. They better pray for his health in the playoffs.
BREAKING FUCKING BAD NEWS:
Rondo out for the season with torn ACL. As if the Celtics season could be any less bearable….
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
What an insane game, the Celtics get the most bittersweet win possible to end their losing streak
Clippers won't get it done without CP3. He should be MVP this season.
yeah, CP3 = point coach. no way should clips be losing with that kind of line up. fire vdn, he's a waste of space and money.
I crack up every time. Say what you want about the guy, but I think he's the most entertaining guy to watch in the entire league.
Dat Kobe Johnson/Magic Bryant/KoNash.
