Beautiful work with the new Orange Town batch. This project is easily going to be the ideal One Piece experience.

The Orage town batch was phenominal. No wonder this seies is so good.

What was the reason behind changing chapter 1 from the Episode of Luffy version to the Episode of East Blue version? Do you feel it's closer to the manga or is it simply personal preference?
-
Will the Koby-Meppo and Buggy cover story arcs eventually get added, as they are canon material

I'm not part of the team, so take my answer with a grain of salt, but I think it was because, yes, EoEB adapted nearly every page and panel of Chapter 1, whereas EoL trimmed some stuff off like Episode 4 did. EoEB is also higher quality than EoL. It's still a bit controversial I suppose, but that's largely Toei's fault for skipping so much of Chapter 1 in Episode 4. Luffy's talk of ten crewmates is put in a filler scene of Episode 1, and we never see how he got his scar (in fact, he doesn't even have a bandage on his face in Episode 4).
While for me it was initially jarring to switch from a more beautiful HD episode to the older standard format, EoEB really is THE best adaptation of Chapter 1 we're ever going to get. I believe out of the whole chapter only 2 panels or something were cut. That's way better than all the other versions of Ch. 1 that we have access to.

I can definitely confirm EoEB is the most panel-by-panel adaptation of Chapter 1. Can't really think of a single thing that was skipped or altered. They even remembered Gyoru.
But I think the simpler answer is that EoEB got dubbed, and Episode of Luffy didn't. Romance Dawn wasn't possible to do Dual-Audio until the change was made. -

I forgot what One Pace's policy on "implied filler" is.
Cause recently the episodes have been showing a lot of the Brachio tank fight. And in the manga it all happened, just offscreen. It was only implied to have happened when Usopp talks about it after the fact.
It'd be cool to have it in One Pace because there's some nice animation. But I remember One Pace strictly states "no matter how cool you think a padding or filler scene, it will be cut if possible."
Implied filler kinda tows the line because it did happen, we just didn't see it. -
I feel like the manga has been intentionally doing that during the Onigashima raid - Oda has the characters mention what they have been up to as we drop into them mid-fight. Like how the fight has been going so far before the conclusion is reached. Maybe it's so he can keep the progression of the battle at a brisk pace.
I think it's intentional on his part at this point to give the anime more stuff to show since it's always nipping at the heels of the manga. -

I think it's intentional on his part at this point to give the anime more stuff to show since it's always nipping at the heels of the manga. There have been cases (such as with what Sabo went through with the Revolutionary Army prior to his re-entering the story) where Oda has just flat-out said "There was a lot of detail I couldn't fit into the manga, but the anime expanded upon it a bit so if you want more detail, go check that" so there have definitely been cases where there has been "Oda-sanctioned" filler. Daddy the Father in Loguetown was another case. While the anime does not always make use of the opportunities Oda gives them, yeah Oda definitely does at times deliberately leave things vague for the anime to expand upon.

I really appreciate you going back and re-editing the old episodes with the new beautiful HD footage. It must seem like a hassle to redo episodes that you've already done, but the end result is wonderful.
And hey, at least you've only got to do Baratie once.
-
Question. Which arcs are you planning to eventually re-do?
-
@Dahaka.:
Question. Which arcs are you planning to eventually re-do?
I don't represent One Pace, but from my understanding they plan to eventually redo every arc that doesn't meet their current editing standards. Those standards being 1) 1080p video, Blu-Ray quality when possible 2) Dual-Audio, Japanese and English dub 3) Subtitles in multiple languages.
That being said, episodes never have a release date, and there is no schedule or quota. Things just come out when they come out. And things like keeping up with Wano or finishing Arabasta are likely going to be higher priority than redoing arcs that have already been done. -
I have been using One Pace since Impel Down, I'm currently at Punk Hazard, and I have enjoyed ir a lot. I watch some episodes, like the first from after the timeskip, with the original anime, but just because Brook songs lmao. I will watch dessrossa with Pace as I 've heard it has the worst pacing an anime can have, but do you recommend watching the next arcs (after dessrossa) with Pace? I have read that some things they add in the anime can be good to watch (like G-8 arc, which I skipped as it was filler, but I want to watch it).
-
Speaking of G-8, that reminds me of something that's been on my mind for a while.
There's a scene from chapter 303 where they discuss getting a shipwright that was moved into the G8 arc from the Davy Back Fight arc in the anime. I think it was placed in episode 204 or thereabout, I can't remember the exact episode and the clip has since been removed from youtube as far as I can tell.I haven't had the time to see the Paced version of the Davy Back Fight arc yet so I'm wondering if that scene still made it in, or was too difficult due to the changes of circumstances surrounding the scene or the aspect ratio still being in 4:3 for that episode?
-
Hi,
I’ve been watching one pace and I caught up with the anime. My brother is now watching and he is now at fish-man island arc and he has been complaining about pacing. Are there going to be more Arabic sub episodes soon I really want him to have the great experience that I had.
Thank you

Are you looking for upscalers?
I've taken Skypiea 1 and upscaled it from 480p to 1080p with these results (4 comparison images):
https://imgur.com/a/f5qBYI2I've input custom parameters in the upscale, that I think work best with animation.
If there are episodes we never expect to get in higher resolution, this is something I can help with.-All images are a 225% upscale, comparisons are however just screenshots. First three pictures are shown at 100% zoom Fourth picture (Luffy) is shown at a 200% zoom to better illustrate image quality improvement
-400% zoom example: https://imgur.com/a/Sny0Gfe-This was done starting with a <100MB file, with pre-export files I would expect even better results

Apologies if this has been asked before, but what is the current stance on G-8? For me (and probably many others) it is one of the few instances of filler I actually enjoy and I wonder if there will be a version that includes it at the end of Skypeia? I realize One Pace's idea is to cut as much as possible, but are some of you maybe thinking about doing a seperate, extended cut for that?
-
From what I understand One Pace is meant to remove all (possible) filler. So since G8 didn't happen in manga and is therefore filler and can be removed it will be removed. However keep in mind I don't actually know what One Pace team thinks or their plans are, but as far as I know they have no intention of incorporating filler in their project in any way, shape or from.
I think their stance is all filler is filler and they don't want to treat some filler different than other, in short. :P
-
I’m fine with them removing it. This is supposed to be unadulterated OP, even if some of the filler is fine. Those filler episodes don’t need much cutting anyways, and they still exist in their original edit.
-

- Opening visuals are now fully 1080p (end of OP).
- Removed some Toei screen shake glitches (causes white bars at the bottom of rapidly shaking shots)

Zippyshare: https://www.zippyshare.com/onepace/gfjvowdc/dir.htmlWano 23, 24, and 26 releases:
The Wano 23 and 24 remakes are now out! These episodes were re-edited pretty significantly and the contents of each episode have been rearranged too. All of this is because the manga reader we've used for years was missing 2 pages of Chapter 944 (non-story important pages, but still pages nonetheless). These have been added back, and are the reason for the major shift in each episode's covered content.

The overview release date is only updated for major new releases. This was a rebatch with a couple fixes, the December 2020 update was a complete overhaul of the arc.

59 old episodes left(assuming normal 2:1), so close, then I assume it will be circling back to PH, TB and fishman since it was mentioned you guys had issues with some of them(mainly since they are like 7-8 years old). But skypeia will easily take a year on it's own, or far far longer.
But the anime and manga both seem ready for breaks, anime because of toei issues and manga since the current arc seems like as nice of a time as any to take a few weeks off. but won't help this project catch up since at most you would get 1 pace episode of free time.
What are the chances this movie is psuedo cannon like some of the other post time skip movies and get 3-4 chapters?

There are a lot more episodes left, no? Baratie, Drum island, Alabasta, Jaya, Skypiea, Water 7… I can't imagine those fit into only 59 episodes.

Baratie only has 5 left, Drum 6 left, Arabasta 4, and Water Seven 8… so 23 eps for those four arcs. Are Jaya+Skypiea 36 Paced episodes between them? Seems roughly that, likely a few more eps, maybe closer to 40. But possibly not "a lot more".

There is no way that Alabasta has only 4 episodes left though, they are at chapter 178 and Alabasta ends with chapter 217. Let's say they adapt 3 chapters per episode, then that's still 13 episodes just for Alabasta.
-
Oh, you're right. I didn't notice the gap between the most recent episode's chapter count (178) and the first listed chapter of the next episode on the list (201). It did make Arabasta look a bit short!

Yeah I think the overview's [TBA] episodes are just made at the beginning as a relative goal, but don't get updated along the way. So they probably expected Arabasta to be 13 episodes, but along the way they realized it'd take more.
I still think there's only like 9 or 10 episodes left though, not 13. One Pace tends to be able to cram more chapters into a single episode when it's a climatic fight. -
That would be great. Am eagerly waiting for the day One Pace is complete for the Pre TS part, then I can finally start watching the OP anime and also get my friends into watching it

Zippyshare: https://zippyshare.com/onepace/krgzdccm/dir.htmlThis is a massive re-edit of the first arc that One Pace ever covered back in 2013. It is edited to our current quality standards and has many, many changes. The main ones are below!
Changelog:
Overall: 3 episodes now instead of 2. Better editing means less janky cuts, so the runtime went up and 3 equal episodes were the decided upon length.
Episode 1:
- 1080p
- Multiple language subs.
- Dub
- No fanart.
- Modern title cards, infoboxes, and edits.
- Proper framerate.
Episode 2:
- 1080p
- Multiple language subs.
- Dub
- Modern title cards, infoboxes, and edits.
- Proper framerate.
Episode 3:
- 1080p
- Multiple language subs.
- Dub
- Modern title cards, infoboxes, and edits.
- Special opening.
- Proper framerate.

Awesome, I appreciate all the love being given to these earlier rougher cuts, because the current quality is really solid and these arcs deserve to shine! Nice work, team.
