If by clear you mean "Multi-island overarching plot" that isn't clear at all. Larger plots involving multiple locations are normal as hell in action serials.
Or is it the Strawhats having guests on the ship, well then why are you counting Vivi and Karoo, but not Johnny and Yosaku. This isn't a mirror, it's just something that the plot once again calls for in an otherwise completely different plot.
1. Zoro's old bounty hunting buddies tag along.
2. They escort a Princess to her home in the face of assassins, with a ticking clock of revolution.
3. They make an alliance with another pirate against a superpower, and play taxi for a samurai and his son.
These are mirrors how?

No he didn't. And that has nothing to do with the innumerable reasons they suck.
I don't think you really know what any of this "mirroring" talk you've heard people throw around about Star Wars means.
