The main reason, I'm excited to see the dub of Stardust Crusaders is just for Joseph. And of course Polnareff.

The only question now will Hot Spring Planet Tenrei will air this time around.

I imagine so. They'd probably only have to blur out the nipples in that one scene.

Pretty sure it did air. The only problem is that it's runtime was cut and half, and bath towels were added to cover up the bits.

Hot Springs Planet Tenrei never aired during it's original airings. Whenever they aired Outlaw Star they skipped episode 23 and go right into Episode 24. Since I remember back in the day I bought the vhs with Hot Springs Planet Tenrei that I can see the episode.
-
I believe you're thinking of Tenchi Muyo having towels added since I don't remember Tenrei ever airing on Toonami. That wound up creating a bit of a plothole later on since Gene just suddenly has those unique Caster shells with no explanation of where they came from.

I'm pretty sure it was aired, there's no way I could've made that up. Unless I'm having some sort of false memory syndrome.

Unless you watched it on Imagiasian channel which did show it. I on other hand do remember the episode where Gene met with the elder McDougall brother and apparently they wound up airing the uncut version of the episode.

Outlaw Star? Sweet!
Never got to see it before, so now I'll finally get the chance.

Toonami is airing FLCL Alternative with sub right now.
-
It's so odd watching subbed anime on Cartoon Network right now.

I have to agree with you on that.

Okay, I'm interest to see whatever this Mind Game is.

Now, Jojo is in Japanese. Which includes Joseph's catchphrases.
-
Is this another Rick and Morty situation?
-
Sort of. Except they just aired the first ep of season 3. Before any of season 2 came out, haha.
By the way, it's floating around the internet in the right places now, so here's some thoughts:
! My brain kept looking for every excuse to hate it, but my heart just doesn't. The thing had me feeling emotionally invested, despite it being hugely different from the original.
! The art direction, for example, is a lot less interesting. There are bouts of creativity here and there, but it's nothing like manga form, or the slow motion gag in the first episode of the first series. What we got wasn't as hyperactive or strange or muddled or conflicted as FLCL classic, but that's okay.
! First of all, we don't really have the big picture yet, and it's not like the first episode of the original is as strong as I think it is now without all of the context the later episodes provide. Second, FLCL Alternative seems to have a tone and style of its own in terms of storytelling. It seems to be pushing in a different direction, carving out its own identity, which is really the best thing it can be doing.
! Everything is a lot calmer in a palpable way. It gave me the feeling of those lost and lazy high school days, which is good because that's what it's depicting. A group of friends sitting on the cusp of major changes, not quite ready for the world to move on (but it'll move, even without them). There's something really relatable in it. Maybe I'll end up feeling a different way when I see the rest of it, but I really think this sort of tone is perfect for the denouement of the series.
! So yeah, I really ended up liking the ep. Who knows what the rest will be like, or whether or not it will live up to the first at all, but I have a feeling I'm gonna enjoy the ride no matter what. -
Did JoJo air last night? My DVR didn't grab it.

Yes it did. They aired the dubbed version of the second half of the Mariah battle.

Crunchyroll and Adult Swim forms an partnership.
-
If this means I can watch the Toonami airings via Crunchyroll it may gove me the boost I need to cut the cord.
-
Finally.
-
Food Wars is coming to Toonami on July 6th.
-
Kimetsu no Yaiba is coming to Toonami.
-
I'm watching Attack on Titan right now and wow, the World and Lore this series established has been turned upside down.
-
Toonami is co-producing an anime adaptation of Junji Ito's Uzumaki.
-
Hiroshi Nagahama (director of Mushishi!) directing this, featuring a soundtrack by Colin Stetson (famous avant-garde saxophonist who's played with a lot of indie bands) and this is exactly all of my interests.
-
Toonami introduced me to Anime. I watched it go from 4-7 pm (Mon-Fri) to 3-7 pm (M-Fr), then it was only Saturday (7-10), and it died after that. I remember first seeing One Piece in like 05 or 06 and I disliked it because I only seen 4 episodes in passing and thought it was about collecting magical fruits. It was mostly Alabasta stuff. In 08, I gave it a decent try and liked it right away. This was when Toonami died and I think I was mainly on animeshippuuden, onepieceofblech, Hulu, etc.
I used to hate how they'd try to squeeze some of their weak shows in with what was becoming a great anime block. I truly believe that outside of the internet, trying to milk what the anime established, killed Toonami. They seen the popularity and just stuffed a bunch of random shows on there. There were some horrendous anime tho. Like Tenchi Muyu (might be spelling this wrong). I might have hated this worse than Reboot.
It's interesting to see that it's been back and I struggle to like dub for the past decade. I think i've seen them cancel and bring back One Piece a couple times.
