Yeah, Kakashi's voice is really great, especially in this episode.
Sasuke's is prety good.

I do think it was kind of a good idea to show it twice. It's on a Saturday night, so I often have to catch the encore.
Kakashi sounds creepy to me, and so does Sasuke. But Sasuke is supposed to be like that…..
I still think Sakura and Naruto are pretty much dead on.
I don't really mind it on saturdays, but I swear I've seen the same episode at least 6 times in a week.
Yeah, they do seem to play it alot. o__o But then so would I if I had a show racking the ratings I guess.
According to Yahoo,
Dub is still looking good…Alot better then One Piece dub lol
I imagine, though, that we might see some troubles in the future. Kakashi killing Haku and Naruto stabbing his hand might be in for some editing, although I can only hope blood will be removed and not the actual "impact," of the moves.
U just cant please naruto fans i was on a forum thing and when i heard this i just knew u they were lookin for only the bad things in it…
"and i thought one piece had bad english voices. i'm glad i was proven wrong. Naruto has the worst voice acting. glad i enjoy subtitles!!!"
"Lol I'm pretty sure a lot of the Naruto voice actors are from One Piece. I'm pretty sure Luffy and Naruto is the same person. (my friend who watches more One Piece actually point it out to me). I'd have to look it up to be sure though..."
they gotta wake up.
I've been trying to avoid the reactions to the dub. I don't even think twice about reading them because nothing good will come of it. ^^
I might have to miss this weekend's ep~ There's a game on Saturday. But we'll see…
Naruto is Flannigan's first attempt at Anime dubbing. She's never had experience in the matter before, but I should say that, even if she had years of practice in Anime, she did Naruto well. I expect improvement to occur as the actors become more familiar with their roles.
The dub is my first experience with Naruto. I wasn't sure if I like it after watching the first two episodes but now I'm starting to warm up to it.=)
One reason why Naruto is better than One Piece is TV Ratings. For the first time CN allowed a TV-14 this early in their time zone. Also since they're cable station, its not subject to FCC rules.
Zatch Bell which is dubbed by the same company is TV-F7 and the editing differences are huge
If Fox would allow One Piece to air with a higher rating, there would less editing and the story would be better because 4kids wouldn't have to work around the edits.
yes this episode was great. kakashis voice is really really turning out to be great. u could tell naruto stabbed himself the they didnt show it, but they kept the blood in gasp also zabuza has a kickass voice. thanks blum ^____________^
Wow… Steve Blum is an awesome Zabuza. I can't wait to see the Zabuza vs. Kakashi fight on the bridge.
And they show the damn show so much I hardly even care when I new episode comes out... I just want them to get to Bo-bobo! Why the hell do they repeat a premier half an hour later? Awful scheduling!
Eh, its a big ratings winner for CN, so they're milking it for all its worth. I just hope they're not killing Naruto by overexposing it.
That edit was 4kids worthy, but I'm just giddy as a school girl that Blum is Zabuza.
It's not "milking". That term is applied to when a series is waning, and a network does what it can to keep said series alive until the very end.
Cartoon Network's strategy is a simple, if classic, means of exposure. 4Kids did the same when they aquired Pokemon, simply because repeating is a good idea in the developing stages.
What happens is, by allowing repeats of early episodes, at relaxing time slot hours (as in, it's likely that people tuning into CN are going to see an episode of Naruto at one point due to scheduling), people are introduced to Naruto at an early stage, and hence, get interested. This ensures fan momentum, which is crucial in the weaker areas of an anime, not just during the strong parts.
With enough momentum, Naruto's American dub will be able to plow through the filler season in Japan and the soon-to-be-made weak Naruto II Arc.
Think of this as driving a train. If we drive long enough, hard enough, and fast enough, we'll be able to plow through almost anything, even without crashing.
wow cartoon network has the biggest balls on earth they are gonna show dbz uncut on toonami holy crap. uncut dbz half edited nartuo niceeeeeee

heh..
Mininova.org
I've gotten episodes 6 and 7 now.
I found out where to get episodes about an hour after I posted that message..
Has it already been brought up already that Christopher freaking Walken is voicing Jiraiya? If so, I'm sorry. I just found out while reading CW's IMDB page and I fell out of my chair.
Well I wouldn't be too sure of that seeing as how one of those sites had Tony Danza as Orochimaru…

Thanks much, now if only I could download other shows off of Toonami and Adult swim, such as new Teen Titans for example lol.
Wow, Haku had an excellent voice.
Did anyone else notice a superimposed Zabuza fall? It occured after Haku stabbed him. It didn't seem natural, and I do not remember that happening from the subtitled versions.
Man, this dub kicks serious ass. I agree, Haku's voice was spot-on.
Though I'm getting very tired of Naruto saying,"Believe it!" with everyone one of his sentences. Believe it!
Oh god…no!

His voice was more than an OK.It was great!!!!
Thought Haku's voice was great. Sounds girlish, yet also boyish. Also something else that came from the ep. that I thought was funny.
I missed the great Haku revelation yesterday. Was it changed in any way?
Ugh, this may look bad, but that previous post of mine is very old…
Regardless, I have revived this topic based solely on Viz's guts.
The Naruto-Sasuke Kiss shot was kept in the life flash!

Hmmmmm…..Thats akward....I saw it also.
"I'm gonna KILL YOU!!"
His Nine-Tail dub voice defeats the original. That line nearly had me getting a new set of pants.
Nothing but good stuff has been shown this Winter. I mean, even 4Kids cut some chains on the OP dub. Is this a sign?

A sign that maybe 4kids is loosening the ropes a little.

Think they'll treat the Alabastra arc with half of the looseless as they did Drum arc?

Maybe….I mean, if they can keep guns in, there might be little hope...Besides,they'll just change the soldiers' guns green or somethin'..
A few weeks ago, they added a re-cap of the story so far just for the dub. What's up with that?
Hmm i dont know. Though it was helpful if i hadnt seen naruto so far. Tho i have but yeah
The recap was in the original also.
@Steel:

Really? My friend's sister said that it wasn't.
I agree, his voice scared the pants off me. I do beleive dubbing is getting better and better. I noticed this with Rockman Axess as well. Sho Pro did a great job with Naruto, I love Kakashi's dub voice.
@Senshi:
Really? My friend's sister said that it wasn't.
Aye, the recaps were. Recap and flashback were Studio Pierrot's way of avoiding whole episodic filler, but that plan doesn't seem to be working anymore (har).
Viz also did some interesting things…according to NarutoPlace.com, there was once instance in which Naruto was scratched by the Demon Brothers on his hand, but in one scene, the wound was missing. Viz actually added in blood as a correction! What the FUDGE? Could a company actually care this much for a show, in this post-One Piece molestation day and age?!
Wow, that is weird!
20 weird characters
When Kakashi kills Haku, obviously they'll have to erase most of the blood. But, we won't be seeing that untill next week.
A boring Saturday, to be sure. All we needed were tremendous reruns of Christmas specials that have been airing since the beginning of the month, even up to Midnight! How can Toonami and AS be pushed back by such?
…
Bleh...we also have a Naruto marathon coming up next Saturday, which is a double edged axe if one asked me...there's ONE new episode (albeit a good one), but hours and hours of rerun and recap, with no new Zatch Bell or progression for OP. I believe 4Kids isn't going to reschedule OP on 4KidsTV until Toonami catches up...I mean, they're fairly close now, as is.
I must agree Terek. I was looking forward to a new FMA. And yes, the Naruto recap is going to be blergh. Cant wait to see the new Naruto though. And I beleive OP on Toonami…I think the most recent episode was the Hiluluk flashback. Not too far away, three of four eps?
I seem to remember Kureha mentioning "the man who called Chopper son" last week, so Hiliruk will be either finished or concluding by the next Saturday. Even so, since Alabastia is absolutely huge, and I doubt even 4Kids to be oblivious to the "phenomenon catapult" that such an arc is, they'll restart the OP lineup on 4KidsTV to coincide, or roughly coincide, with the Toonami airings. Outside of the internet, word-of-mouth is likely to be the best way of spreading spoilers, so to do this would be a rather intelligent idea if to preserve the "surprises".
Rock Lee in T-10 minutes. O__O Totally can't wait.

Oh man, it's almost over where I am and I missed it.
Well, what does he sound like?
Do they call him "Lee Rock?"
They still call him Rock Lee.
OK, I have a complaint about the dub: males sound way too similar. I wouldn't call Lee's voice bad, but it's kind of… generic.

Yeah I am totally feeling you on this one. I don't want a bunch of bad accents like One Piece however I would like some distinction, everyone sounds the same including the main characters.
