Strawhat Crew Theories and Prediction Thread

Th e title explains it all. In this thread you can post specific theories you have pertaining to the Strawhat Crew. The general Theories thread contains theories that range from stupid to intelligent, and with content about Don Krieg Axe to Shank's sandals. Well here we're looking for just Strawhat theories. To start off I'll post one of my own predictions about Chopper:

A common story used in all mediums is the classic tale of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide. A story about a man who attemps to separate his good and evil sides. While Chopper may not have an evil side within him he does house a beast within his being. My prediction is that Chopper with slowly learn to control his his transformations without a rumble ball but in doing so the more he transforms the closer he gets to releasing Monster Chopper. This will manifest itself in fights where he get angry and his eyes go white an he goes Riot Blood Chopper for a short while.

Seriously Chopper needs an upgrade.

Seriously Chopper needs an upgrade.

I really like this one! Would give Choppers fighting style a new twist.
Always liked Monsterpoint, but it's a bugger that he goes Berserk when in it.
A nice mix between power and control would be sweet.
That way it wouldn't be too much of a godlike powerup, since he has to struggle to keep control.

i have a feeling luffy will take the place of ace in the execution, and then the crew and the allies they've made will show up and rescue him. The reason for this is because i remember in one of the first volumes oda describes how one of his favourite things about the age of pirates was when the villagers would rescue captured pirates from the gallows. and if it doesn't happen in this arc, it'll happen sometime later in the story, setting the difference between the old pirate king roger and the new one luffy

nice idea, but if this happens, then it will be soon. I don't see how most of their allys should get past the new world. Especially not the east blue guys.

I agree that i'd like to see Chopper in Monster Point again. But i'd rather not have Chopper actively "wanting" to transform under his own will. Wether the fans like it or not… Chopper doesn't like hurting people. It would seem incredibly out of character for him to desire the power that Monster Point gives him. If it were in ANY WAY a threat to his Nakama, he would never use it (unless he had no choice).

But I do like the idea of Chopper having to deal with being unable to control it. It would be nice to see some personal inner struggle on Chopper's part, rather than him looking cute all the time lately. I won't say that Chopper needs an upgrade... but he does need to be more involved with what is going on.

But Chopper would never want to gain power if it meant him potentially putting his friends in danger.

I like to see team attacks, especially animated's. So its purely for visual reason only, any the serious fighting leave it to the big 3! Haki for the monster trio!

i don't know if you've been paying attention, but the "useless" crew members (as you put it), have been involved in MANY team attacks lately. Chopper and Ussop have been very good support during the OZ and upcoming Pacifista battle.

All this "upgrade" talk is definitely NOT how Oda should advance his characters. New moves and powers are always cool… but that stuff can actually be written into the plot line of the story.

not just pointless moves given to the characters ONLY for the sake of making them interesting to fans who only watch for the fights anyway.

I watched the anime opening for the Ocean's Dream video game some time ago, and it had Chopper throwing red shirt enemy pirates around like he was friggin' Chewbacca. Why doesn't he do that in the actual series??!!

I never thought that he would want to transform into the beast. It would be a result of his prolonged use of rumble balls. Soon, Chopper would begin to be able to transform into his other 4 forms without Rumble Balls. The more he transforms without using the RB's the more prone he would be to becoming the beast in battle. I agree with the rest of your post though.

Agreed. Chopper changing his form at will and without limitation will be nice. It's not as if Rumble balls is so overpowered that we need to slap a tariff on it, the same with gear 2. luffy always keeping it as a last resort (bleach). i'd rather him switching it on permanently (dbz)

Luffy chibi after gear 3 is also dumb. But franky dependency on his cola (ammunition) is cool and realistic.

It's popular fan belief that Usopp will get to face Van Auger when Strawhats and Blackbeards meet, but this will not be Usopp's most pivotal battle.

That will belong to Sogeking, when Usopp has grown in strength, both mentally and capability wise. Sogeking will then reveal himself as Usopp's puppet master the entire time, having sniped him with courage and self confidence these past few arcs.
Usopp, having realised he was being manipulated all along by his Sogeking side will have a mental battle of the ages that will prove he, Usopp himself, is a brave warrior of the sea once and for all even without the help of the Sniper King.

I agree with members other then Luffy having haki. Think about it, there's no way Luffy's going to be able to fight all of the higher level people himself, and the only way for zoro or sanji to match up with the admirals or yonkou is if they develop some sort of haki.

Y i see no problem with atleast the Monster Trio getting to learn haki , i mean if the first mate of Gold Roger learned why cant Luffy first mate learn also?

I believe they could also learn and they wont get overpowered just like that, most of luffy crew can beat most of the amazons in amazon lily and they know how to use it , haki doesnt mean they get overpowered but it could be a nice boost for all of them i see for example usop using it on his bullets to try to improve them even more like the amazons did with the arrows.

I think haki will be an important part of everyone's training, one way or another. Not to assume I haki can be used like this…

Luffy is already good with King's Disposition.
Chopper should be able to haki his way into influencing and maybe even controlling Monster Point.
Nami could make her navigational talents so precise that she could know the exactly the location of whoever she wants, whenever she wants.
Sanji could discover a secret to making his food more delicious by effecting heat with accute timing.
Zoro WILL learn how to cut the elements, especially if haki has anything to do with it.
I want Brook to use his bones as make-shift weapons should he ever loose his cane, and he might need haki to ignore the pain.
Usopp can be more willing to use his dials in close combat if he there's a haki for absorbing the kick-back.
Franky wants to be more fuel-efficient and maybe haki could help.
Robin...I don't know, she could restore engravings that have caroded away.

Sorry, buddy. This was true before the time-skip. No hate to DBZ, but that's what Naruto has turned into in terms of who the fighting is based around. All the great, lovable characters Kishi created that made the Narutoverse so rich were all shafted years ago. Sure, they get guest appearances. Shika, Inu, and Chouji helped with the Hidan and Kakuzu. Some others, too. Piccolo helped out after Namek too, though, right? So did Tien, even.

Didn't Zoro already use haki in a recent episode? On Shabody when he was getting harassed by bounty hunters he shot them a look and they shat their pants and ran off..

I think Sanji's Diablo "burning" powers are a form of Haki too.. and that Haki is going to be much more diverse and complicated than weapon indubing, mantora and doom gazes. I just hope OP doesn't turn into dueling hakiemehas..

I used to be really pissed about the idea of all the crew members getting haki but then I remembered that luffy has the KING haki and not all haki is like that. If all the crew members had king haki this series would suck sooooo bad. I definitely see Zoro and maybe Sanji learning Haki though.

My theory is for the end of the Zoro Mihawk final battle. Through the series zoro has broken all different swords (2 fighting mihawk, Yubashiri fighting Kaku, unknown in his past exploits) but hehas and will never break Wado Ichimonji because it hold Kuina's soul (hopes, dreams, ambition, etc.). I believe that after the final blow that zoro deals mihawk, Wado will shatter and signify Kuina's R.I.P.
