Anything as long as Buggy the clown is back. Seriously, It's about time he come back. There's no words strong enough to describe how much I miss him and how much I want to see how he have changed during those 2 years…

They would not stay on one island then, right?
Perhaps an arc that has to do with the cruelty to animals but more specifically, the subjugation of the den den mushi. Think about it, these are living creatures that are presumably displaced from their homes to serve human beings. What if they are processed and distriputed from their native island in the new world. Destroying the primary processing plant would disrupt this burgeoning industry greatly.
Luffy could liberate these defenseless and docile creatures from the clutches of humanity and ultimately, the world government.
Video den-den mushi's would then begin broadcasting this ad:

Moria is a human. And those wings on Magellan's back aren't part of his body.
No he is not. @_@
He is from a different tripe like Long-Legs tripe …etc.
Can you show me a prove of Magellan waring those wings as cloths?

A deserted island with an abandoned lab with a button that Luffy or probably Brook accidentally pushes and transports they to a world inside a computer called "Cyberspace Islands" where they must defeat a powerful AI that controls the entire system with the goal of enslave all humanity(and fishmans and giants and whatever they have) to be trapped in the cyberspace with the help of programs-like soldiers.
You cold just say tron
the island from lost
Luffy and Law and have decided to join an alliance with Hawkins, Kidd, Apoo, and Killer. They have established a meeting place, so Luffy leaves with Law and brings Zoro and Sanji along for the ride. He orders the rest of the strawhats to wait for them to come back and to protect Sunny at all costs.
A patrolling marine stumbles upon the Sunny and immediately heads back to base to report his findings. The Marine HQ is informed about the situation and intends to attack the strawhats. Sentomaru ,thinking Luffy is there, decides to go himself and brings along 5 newly designed pacifistas and also 1000 soldiers. The plan is a full on assault on the strawhats.
Chopper, unknown to anyone, actually noticed the patrolling marine and decided to follow him. He overhears the entire conversation and heads back to Sunny. He informs everyone of the situation and everyone prepares for all out war. With no monster trio to help, the strawhats have to work together and show just how strong they've become during the past 2 years.
As a result of this arc:
1. Everyone's bounty gets increased significantly.
2. The strawhats as a whole will be viewed as a serious threat, not just Luffy and Zoro.
3. The Marines get very serious about pursuing the strawhats, even getting Akainu's attention.
4. Working together has made the strawhats closer, made them more aware of each others' fighting style/technique and strengths and weaknesses, and made everyone stronger as a result.
5. Everyone has a chance to shine. Everyone fights and uses new techniques.
How articulate and well thought out. This scenario is not only plausible, but I could see Oda setting the narrative in the same or similar manner.

I would love love love seeing this in the future. An arc where the monster trio is not around but the other SH´s get to shine would be a brilliance if well handled.

Thanks, one of my pet peeves is when an author has a good number of characters but only focuses on one or two (it's what I hated the most about Dragonball). I wanted there to be a good reason for the monster trio not to be around without it sounding like a cop out (somebody gets sick or somebody fell for a trap that usually they don't fall for). I really hope an arc like this will happen and it would be very different than what Oda usually does.

Isn't Zoro or luffy or sanji leaving the whole crew behind outta their character?? Why would they just leave the Whole freaking crew behind when their MAIN reason for getting stronger and training for 2 whole years was to protect the whole crew and you really think they would simply leave behind the whole crew for the person they met only twice ???? Man , your whole theory sounds like fanfic or something .

No shit sherlock of course it's a fanfic. This whole thread is ideas. And to your first point, Luffy is now trusting his crew wayyy more than before because he knows how strong they have gotten.

It's not out of the question for him to leave them alone for a few. Calm down, I have no idea why you're getting so riled up.

And how actually does that prove your theory ??? i can understand about luffy going but taking Zoro and Sanji and leaving the whole crew in the middle of New World is retarded , you really think that ONLY marines are gonna be after the strawhats , do you not know that Marines don't run the place in New World???? there are going to be ALOT of Strong New World Pirate after them , did you ALSO forget that Big Mam is after them , she can EASILY take advantage of that and massacre the whole crew . And this thread is NOT fanfic ( At least its not imo) , this thread is ideas where people are basically trying to predict what could happen next while sticking it with the original plot and characters , Fanfic is basically something where people throw random shit of their fantasy and go against the original plot and characters characterization ( basically what you are doing here ) .
A puzzle island would be neat, where the Strawhats have to solve all sorts of weird games to escape. Of course, Robin and Chopper would easily figure out theirs if it was a game of logic.
A fake OP arc. Somene found fake One Piece or lied about it to get publicity

I'd add Sanji and Franky to that list too. Sanji can be pretty crafty when he's in his "Mr.Prince" mood. Franky rarely gets a chance to let his intellectual side shine. I honestly think that out of all the Strawhats, he'd be the one to solve the puzzle environment the quickest.

As of right NOW, Big Mam is not after the strawhats YET. And besides, even if Luffy was with them Big Mam can still massacre them whenever she wanted. You're right, the marines don't control the New World but when was the last time we actually saw bounty hunters? We haven't seen them for a while and if Oda started showing more of them, the strawhats wouldn't be the only ones they would be targeting. And also as of right NOW, with the exception of maybe Blackbeard, which pirate crew is actually chasing the strawhats? Don't worry I'll wait. That's not to say they wouldn't attack them if they see them, but you're acting like all the pirate crews in the New World got together one evening and decided to go after the strawhats just for the hell of it.
Who's been chasing the strawhats throughout One Piece? MARINES. Which well known marine is in the current arc? SMOKER. What was he doing in the beginning of the arc? CHASING the strawhats
And that link proves the point that Luffy believes in his crew. They are now in the New World, a place that isn't a joke. Luffy CAN'T be constantly babying the crew. They eventually will have to start fending enemies off themselves. We all assume the strawhats will eventually fight the Blackbeard pirates. Do you think they can face them right now? Hell Nooo. They need to get stronger and if they can't handle 1000 soldiers (When Luffy himself beat like 100,000) and some pacifistas then they will get absolutely murdered by the Blackbeard pirates.
Wow, nice argument on here. Let's just hope it doesn't degenerate into bickering about sexism.

You sure you didn't mistake it for Sanji, because I doubt someone who can't recognize Sogeking can bypass Sanji or Usopp or even Nami in tricky logic.

I will put it like this- Robin, Sanji, Nami and Usopp.
And Franky. mabye Zoro for comedy

LOL A puzzle island for Zoro would be what Okama Island was for Sanji
Zoro somehow is the best there lol

ok , cool to know .
There has to be an arc that serves as a proper welcome to the new world. The straw hat crew need to get decimated once more, so they can get battle hardened. Maybe they land on a continent and get separated in the process. This way, they're forced to fend off pursuers on their own. Oda needs to exhibit why this is the most perilous sea in the world. This would incite more growth and development of the crew. Failure will force the crew not in the monster trio to grow stronger, so they can serve as assets and not burdens. Maybe the strength of the rest of the crew will be more comparable to the monster trio as the arc concludes.
Also, I hope the crew get some cool scars, especially the women. It shouldn't be men only because Nami and robin are warriors too. They can't leave unscathed especially in the most perilous part of the grand line.

I agree, but I think Oda is stuck. I don't think people will like it if it is done so quickly after just having a time skip. The strawhats trained for 2 years and they can barely handle the first few islands? On the other hand, if the strawhats breeze through the islands then people also won't like that. He has to maintain a balance, and I think that can be difficult. However, there's no question that everyone in the crew needs to learn how to use haki (I honestly don't really know much about haki. Can everyone even learn it?) Your idea can apply to them fighting enemies that can use haki well and them having to use it themselves in order to stand a chance. But this is Oda we're talking about so I'm pretty confident he already has great things planned.

That'll probably happen with yonkou and/or blackbeard and his crew. I don't see how they could beat them first try, having them fight once then lose and barely escape to come back and get revenge would be a much greater turn of events imo. The new world probably isn't going to be easy. (at least I hope)
I would love to see an early 1900s western town. Something with a Victorian vibe to it, but kind of eerie.

That setting would be a good way to introduce more bounty hunters, and not fodder like the Yeti Cool Bros.
