I mean the Demon King's prophecy, it was convenient for him that someone happened to be there to prove his point. If Merlin was not there, then it would be just some babbling of a loser. I don't see how his words makes sense still regardless, coming from someone who was intending to kill everyone.
I'm starting to get really worried about this. Merlin's intentions are for the best, but as they say, "No good deed goes unpunished". The Demon King's final warning still resonates.

Calling it "convenient" wouldn't be accurate. If anything, the Demon King knew some stuff, he knew or maybe foresaw what the end of the Gods era would lead to. So is more an eventuality than anything.

The first race to appear in the land of Britannia, yes. What has changed? Chaos first gave birth to the Supreme Deity, the Demon Lord and the Sacred Tree. Those three would then create the Celestial Realm and race, the Demon World and the demons, and the Fairy Realm and fairy folk.
These three races were created by the offspring of Chaos. Chaos would then create the race of the Giants, making it the first race to live in the land of Britannia. Afterwards, Chaos created the human race.
So there you have it. As Chaos had no hand in the creation of the goddesses, the demons and the fairies and their separate realms, the giants were indeed the first race Chaos itself created.
Just to clarify. The goddesses, demons and fairies don't even live in Britannia, originally. And the Fairy Realm is located nearby the Human Realm. Humans can only enter this place through the Fairy King's Forest, which acts as its border.
