Arent King and Diane dumb for revealing their true selves to Gowther? They are creating a time paradox and probably bringing the real Gowther to the present…
Seven Deadly Sins
-
-
There's a bunch of layers of confusion over this scenary:
- Are they timetraveling or just reliving memories that adapt to them?
- Did Growther the wheelbound actualy belived them?
- What happens if they fail this "test"?
- What are Dolor and Goloxina's true intentions?
They were dumb for thinking that Selfless Growther was Lust Growther? Absolutely, they already got it with NotBan, Meliodas and GoddessElizabeth, they were caught in the moment and didn't think it throught.
-
FINALLY!!! Man, Gowther's backstory was long overdue.
What I really liked about the chapter at first was that we actually didn't got two Gowthers. The doll is not a clone (or whatever) of the real Gowther, it is just his avatar. So all the time it was the real Gowther, it was him talking and acting, it just wasn't his real body. I like this because Gowther is easily my favorite character in the series and this way the "real Gowther" is actually the same character I like and not a new one being introduced.
However, now that I think about it, it is more likely this is true only for this flashback. King noticed instantly this Gowther was different from the one he knows and there is something remarkably different in him: the Gowther from the past is enticed by people's emotions, but he is not oblivious to them. He fully understand emotions like any regular person while in the present he is still struggling to get there. So I'm assuming at some point the doll will develop a conscious of its own and become a separate entity, and that entity is the Gowther we know - the one in the Seven Sins.
I would prefer if it didn't happen and we had only one Gowther, but I am under the impression we'll see the doll gaining life in the next chapters. -
I think it could be the same Gowther, just hit with a curse. Among all those demon curses, there has to be one that gives people amnesia or something.
Or something went wrong while he was transferring himself onto his avatar. Something involving Merlin maybe.
-
that was a lot of Gowther for one chapter.
I must say i do enjoy past Gowther being his usual dick and trollish self.
I prefer Gowther in his clown form if only because the face of the rela Gowther makes me think of the smugness of associated with cool character while doll Gowther look always seems to be having his fun and perfectly fits his troll persona.
I wonder what the test i suppose to be for King and Diane. That memory seems to be about to be freaky.

I think Fraudin mentioned that Gowther got hit by his own curse and that's why he is like that. So I would assume the real Gowther is in the same state.

Elaine and Ban are so fucking cute, I can't stand it.
-
Ugh. Crazy cute. Like…wtf lol. They are definitely in my top 5 of Shonen romance.
-
And it's a very romantic romance in that it only lasted a week! Yet true love was made in a week.
-
Finally got to read the 7 Days spin-off, its sooooooo darn cute and pure that will be terrible heartbreaking and the end comes.
Volume 25 brought tow more pages to the Druid Altar side story. Here's a link:

Spoilers from the Gowther Gaiden
https://imgur.com/a/WqDfh! Yep, thats the same Bartra.
-
by the way, i'm rereading the series right now and i just realized:
that time when fraudrin killed liz, fraudrin probably came for her blood that time, to open the seal. you know since liz and elizabeth are the same. -

Excellent chapter, just NNT at its best.
-
miles better than Diane's garbage one.
-
GowtherXNadja>BanXElaine.
And The Head of the Goddess Clan is confirmed Female.
-
This Growther is another being enterely. Growther the Selfless, Growther the Lust and Growther the Man are all different beings.
We can asume that the kingdom tried to execute him and failed, that he gave up his heart before Meliodas and Merlin recruited him.
Do we know if Meliodas knew if he was one of the commandments?
At least from this, we can think of him having a redemption arc. From the spoiler I tought it was something much more cruel and sinister.
So weird to have Growther the Wheelbound introduced and then revealed as dead the next chapter.

Dianes Gaiden was completely generic.
GowtherXNadja>BanXElaine.

Nadja in this chapter got more development than Elaine and Matrona.

More like first he destroys his heart and when he is about to get executed, we get another Utsuro moment (Gintama fans should understand this), Gowther cant die then Meliodas recruits him and becomes Merlins guinea pig.
-
Is Gowther's heart still on Nadja's lifeless body? That may play a role in future chapters.
-
The last page implied Gowther destroyed his heart.
This song pretty much fits Gowthers Gaiden.
-
Man, this was reaaaaally good, like seriously. BanxElaine still is my top OTP but GowtherxNadja might be tie to it. Poor Doll, doesn't really know who he is.
-
I sorta thought Ban x Elaine would be the one good romance in this series. But man…I don't think Ive encountered an author than can have two excellent tragic romances in a single series.
-
oh and he answered a hell lot of questions in this gaiden. He was on fire.
-
The author was always pretty good at Gaidens and romance so it is no surprise to see him deliver once again.
I must say I was not expecting to get so much feelings so much from a Gowther backstory. The take on this one seems a little more gloom than usual. from the Gowther having to dress as a maid to stay with her to the future king seeing his sister's hapiness while knowing it won't last.
I really appreciate that we got not ambiguity about their feelings for each other even going as far seeing them get naked. We see them bond, we see them kiss, and when truly her heart stop and Gowther rip his own to try resurrecting her it is made powerful in that you really saw how they felt and how important that moment was for them.
Gowther sin of lust is another great Gaiden proving that Diane's was just a rare misstep.

I actually think he is pretty good at them. The only problem is that he likes to add a little something to make them controversial(Gowther being the most normal one weirdly enough). What made the King Gaiden romance not work was not the writing but rather Diane's appearance.

By appearance do you mean.that she was a toddler?
I suppose. I just didn't find the other romances as memorable or as enjoyable. Melodias and Elizabeth are just so annoying to me. A love that spans past loves should tug at my heartstrings but Melodias being a perv and Elizabeth being weirdly okay with the groping even before she redeveloped feelings was…blargh.
The one-sided romances are kinda cute. But not something to feel invested in.

Yup.

They are not. But as I said that's mostly because Nakaba always add one problematic element to make it screw up. In this case the element is probably suppose to be the doll aspect but it not visually jarring like toddler Diane or baby Elzy.
Another nice example that he is skilled in it would be making moment between Melio and Liz(the one killed by Fraudin) feel genuine.

Mel and Elizabeth are so unlikable to me that anything focusing on them is not something I'm invested in.

So did the king brother had a mistress and gave birth to a bastard because the archer looks waaaay to much like him.

I though Dianes first gaiden was pretty good, the second though could have been better

That was King's gaiden.
-
oh and he answered a hell lot of questions in this gaiden. He was on fire.
Yeah was extremely happy with the Goddess leader being female answer.
-
-
Diane's Gaiden was split in two, remember?
Yup, I actually meant the first part of her gaiden
-
Well, that was pretty good.
My first expectations of demon Gowther and doll Gowther being one and the same turned out to not be right, but I don't mind - as an underdogs lover, I suppose a part of me prefer the idea the Gowther I like is not the same cool looking badass demon.
I have to admit I was expecting his douchery to appear at the end and instead of being genuinely interested in Nadja he would be just studying her, but a love story is good too (and it develops his character, while him being an asshole would just be more exposition of the same traits we already know). This Growther is another being enterely. Growther the Selfless, Growther the Lust and Growther the Man are all different beings.

Just in case it is not a joke, I will point out the name is Gowther, not Growther.

Didn't even notice, lol.
Growther the Man indeed. :ninja:

Yes a very nice gaiden with just the right amount of reveal and new questions
One of them being why does present gowther study emotions if he gave up on them ? -

Yeap, such a nice gaiden!!! Nakaba is good at telling love stories, isn't he?

Yes, he is. Plus those fights that make me keep reading his work.
This was quite simple and for that, better than other gaidens. It is approved.

GeppettoGowther is a really nice guy. And I want to know two things: What Stigma did against ProtoBan and what will be King-Glox reaction to the maiming of Gerharde. -
One thing for sure is that King will beat the hell out of Rou.
I hope Original Gowther restored Dianes memories.
-
That's the second time that king have to face a Ban that "killed" his sister.
-
Even in a situation of incoming demise, awkward moments happens.
-
All of a sudden, Gerharde's present time design takes a whole new meaning.
-
What's your idea of why selflessness deletes memories, feelings and liberty? I can't find a chapter about it. Only thing it came to the mind is that It's because the nature of a demon is to have egotistic feelings, so if you curse a demond to be altruistic, you delete his natural inclination.
And another great chapter. It seems to point to Gowther being the master mind behind the Coffin of Eternal Darkness but also behind the weakening of the Goddess clan which lead them to his present inhability to get a phisical form. All because he doesn't care for the holly war and may help to end it.
-
What's your idea of why selflessness deletes memories, feelings and liberty? I can't find a chapter about it.
Well, what is the idea of why you turn into stone if you lie?
-
Well, what is the idea of why you turn into stone if you lie?
Sometimes it's not ramdon, like in Escanor sin of pride and his hability to increase his power with the sun, like when someone has a big ego. So I'm wondering if this is a non-ramdon case.
-
So King's quirk is to harshly judge everyone in the worst possible way just to regret later and never learn anything from it, huh?

I guess is that when you act on behalf of others you forget about yourself.

Petty much, just as Diane is to loss her memory.
-
Ugh, King will take protagonism, shit is coming next chapter.
Gowther saying is going to die because of whatever was rather nice because Gowther is on the part.
