Lose? Ban will soon regret snatching all his strenght. Meliodas is about to unleash the most destructive Full Counter you've ever seen.
-
These are some seriously overpowered abilities.
-
Next Chapter: Ban notices he's outside the ring.
-
The powerlevels and abilities in this manga are both ridiculous and still in check at the same time - and I love it.
I hope we get a glimpse of Meliodas true abilities next chapter. -
Yeah, it's obvious what Meliodas is planning to do.
Plus, while Ban's "Snatch" seems powerful, it has its restrictions. It seems that the more powerful his opponent is, the longer it takes for the effect to kick in.
-
Finally the chapter is out. Great one and Melodias becomes even more mysterious -ah no on a second thought we saw that mark already appear once in chapter nine on the last page and during both times Melodias was powerless but got a massive powerup once the sign appeared. And the second to last panel is really great.

How much would you guys recommend this manga? As a newbie in reading manga, should I read it or should I read more and then finally get back to stuff like this?

In my opinion, there are more significant mangas than this but you should really try and just read a few chapters. It seems like you are wasting more time on planning what to read instead of actually reading something.
-
It definitely isn't the deepest Manga but it still manages to be interesting enough for a battle manga. It also helps that it seems to have more backstory to it than most others. But of course it is still fairly new and nobody knows how it turns out in a year. If you don't know what to read then just try everything and set yourself a chapter by which the manga has to have captured your interest. That helps me with recommendations.

Story is so far very carefree and a bit nonsensical but the art, action and characters are way above the average shonen.
Try this and if you like it go for Kongou Banchou, the previous work of the author.
-
It will be so funny if next chapter Diane and Elizabeth suddenly got big and everyone would spill so much blood from their noses and paint the whole arena red.

The manga has already enough fanservice asis and I really hope that against the other fighters we will now see a bit more seriousness before going back to the jokes. Not that I mind the funny side of the manga but no matter how funny storyadvancing, serious chapters are also necessary.
-
Aaaand I'm caught up. Glad I took the time to read this manga since I really, really like it. While it's primarily focused on fights, the story, too, is getting more interesting as it goes and more info about backstories and whatnot gets revealed bit by bit. Like somebody mentioned earlier, the power-scales are ridiculous but still manage to be reasonable and make sense for that particular world's standards.
No surprise this is selling like hot cakes. -
That's it. Diane is going to get big (and naked) in the middle of the ring, she is going to grab her giant hammer and murder every witness.
End of the manga, everyone's going to die :P
-
Read the chapter, nothing out of the ordinary
About the notification on the cover page: Is it really 1 mil sold or only in print? The scanlation group has translated it as "sold" but i read a few days ago that it was only print, i hope someone can clarify.
-
Over 1 million copies have been sold with the first three volumes. This means each volume sold over 300.000 copies.
-
hahaha, hauser power looks like Cody from Street Fighter
-
Or Joe Higashi from Fatal Fury/King of Fighters. Good ol Hurricane Upper. And Screw Upper.

You're wrong. Gentleman Hauser will get smashed by Diane's gigantic boobs and with a smile in his face, as it should be. After that she will be disqualified for not using proper clothes. End.
-
You guys are overlooking the fact that Elizabeth will also grow, since it's happening with Diane. The only thing I know is that the next chapter will be filled with fanservice.
-
You know, this manga's been running for a while now but so far there's been no enemy that posed a real threat to the protagonists. The only individuals considered to be strong are the Holy Knights but even they get defeated rather fast if you think about it. I want to see a strong antagonist that can be compared to Meliodas in terms of strength and that causes the good guys to retreat once in a while. Just something to keep up the tension and to spice things up a little. But, as luck seems to be on my side, the next few chapters might provide us with such opponents.

What about that Holy Knight with the explosive power. The already introduced sins looked pretty bad without their weapons against her and they had to be saved by King who already has his weapon. Of course she would have no chance against Melio once his mark appears but back then, it was still suspenseful. Besides, now that the "new" Holy Knights´power source has been revealed, i think we will get much stronger opponents.

You're talking about Geera, who is on the way to their location now with new Jericho. Geera is now in full armor and has a weapon, though whether or not that matters remains to be seen, and then there's Jericho. I imagine stronger base Holy Knights will make stronger new Holy Knights as well, so there's room for growth. Honestly it's a little too soon in the series for there to be situations where the sins have to run away, but if there aren't some genuine threats soon it will definitely lose the suspense. It was nice to see Ban exhausted after abusing his hunt ability… it almost balances out his overpowered stats/regen.

With Jericho and a third, unknown person on the second mantaray.
Honestly, though, the Sins weren't really serious when they fought Geera.
-
Yeah, but Diane and Ban were outclassed for sure.
-
Hmmm. Not sure about Ban. He's pretty playful, and he knew that she can't kill him. Not to mention that he really didn't go all out, otherwise he would've robbed her of her strength and speed.
-
Having caught up, this manga definitely is an entertaining, well done shounen. Sometimes it follows shounen cliches a bit much, but it's executed well so I can't complain.
What I do want to know is, is this manga weekly, and roughly on what days is it released?
-
It's weekly but I don't know if it really is released regulary. I think it just is realeased every week when they are finished.
-
It's in Weekly Shounen Magazine, so that comes out on Wednesdays, usually.
As for the Red Hawk Neo scanlations, it's a little erratic, but seems to fall in the Sunday-Monday area.
-
It hasnt skipped a week so far, I believe.
Red Haw Scans usually has the translation ready on mondays even before the raw goes public.

Good chapter, the old man´s identity was predictable but it´s still interesting since we might see more of Meliodas´past + Diane also has a mark.
-
Really interesting power Diane has there but just imagine how much more powerful that would be if she was her full size.
And I was really happy that the fanservice was kept to a reasonable level. Good for the manga that it doesn't try to be like HSDK.
-
Yeah first I thought oh boy here comes the fanservice, but it wasn't like that at all. As ^ mentioned, in HSDK, it's just unbearable now.
-
It really is unbearable and I think it is quite nice to know that not all authors have to go the whole way. But I just realized that we never saw anything of the Holy Knights that were shown last chapter I thaught they would arrive this chapter for sure.
Do you think that they will arrive during the fights or only after Melodiaz has beaten the old geezer?
-
I'm surprised Diane won. I was certain Hauser would face off against Meliodas as the big boss of the arc, and though honestly I'm a little disappointed he lost against Diane when she had a fraction of her size (and physical power), and wasn't going all out (only used her ability at the end), this does make room for the coming demon blood knights to be the main villains of the arc, and Hauser also commented he wasn't using his weapon, so all's fine. Hauser also seems to be set up as a rival type figure to the Deadly Sins; he has respect and interest for them, and Diane's apology to him also makes it seem like that.
So Cain is …. who? All we know is that he's from Danafor. Next chapter will definitely be an interesting fight. I'm guessing since Meliodas is probably not going to fight Diane, as she'd refuse anyway, the Holy Knights will appear after the next fight.
-
Can anyone link the page where Meliodas destroyed Danafor? I remember reading about it, but completely forgot it for some reason.

^I can see a good story behind Danafor's downfall. Maybe the villagers were corrupt or simply did something that would incur Meliodas' wrath. I'm looking forward to reading its story either way.
Concerning the chapter, I'm not sure what to think about it. I did expect to see Hauser put up more of a fight, even without his weapon. And I figured he'd maybe, somehow, be able to give Diane a hard time. But ultimately, she pretty much wiped the floor with her opponent. Sure, Diane had to go "all out" but if that's what she's capable of without her weapon, I can't even begin to imagine how destructive her powers will be once she's got her hammer back. But I'll hold back for now until the demon blood knights- cool name btw- arrive and we see what they've got up their sleeves.
-
I think we have to wait a long time for the story how the Kingdom of Danafor came to meet it's end as that seems to be related to Melodias true and whole power.
I also liked how we now have a rather clear indication that the Holy Knights can't really be the final enemy unless all of them fight at once against the deadly sins.
But at least the weaker Demon Blood Knights are powerful enough to pose a real challenge. -
I bet on Meliodas being of demon ascendance.
-
Maybe they'll arrive in the last fight.
-
It's clear the final enemy are not the holly nights; more likely different people behind the blood demon knights.
The mysterious old man belonged to the ancient kingdom of Danafor. His appearance matches well with that past, since he's powerful, but keep drunk, wears like a vagabond, and seems to be wandering around. But I wonder why he wanted to enter the festival. Because it's like if he would have an objective in mind, but his appearance tells the contrary.
Did already the story provide an explanation of why Melodias looks young? I have the impression it was given somewhere.
-
Here's the one-shot that was released back in 2011.
http://manga.redhawkscans.com/reader/read/nanatsu_no_taizai/en/0/0/I want that Elizabeth to switch places with the current one; also that bishi Meliodas. And that bar.
-
Nah, it's okay like this. Also, since she will be travelling alongside him, Elizabeth is probably going to turn out like her one shot counterpart.
The bar is just too complicated to draw, all these mechanic parts.
-
I prefer the actual Meliodas.
Instead of a goody-two-shoes we got a pervy midgtet that could very well be the Antichrist.
-

Doubtful. Elizabeth's personality is completely different compared to her one-shot one. The latter is charismatic and energetic while the former is fairly timid and nothing really outstanding; in my opinion at least. One-shot version's haircut looks better too.
-
The one shot is if Meliodas and Elizabeth switched personalities. I think it's fine like this, the dynamic works better and besides a ditzy Elizabeth would have overlapped a little with Diana's character.
-
Didn't really care much for the one shot beyond the slight aha moments about the changes. All I can say is that it didn't capture me as strongly as the revised chapter 1 for serialization.
Also small spoiler summary for the next chapter
! Cain's emblem sparks some questions surrounding danafol's circumstances and Meliodas which is quickly shot down by Ban,
because the seven deadly sins have a rule/law to not pry into each other sins.
Cain asks Meliodas for the reason he betrayed their country and in the process throws some fire magic at him.
When he throws a giant fireball at him, Melidoas answers that his sin was that he couldn't protect what he wanted to protect.
Meliodas makes the fireball vanish into thin air, apparently he can also "counter vanish" attacks.
Meliodas remembered about Cain during the match and they make up, Cain forfeits their match.
The final fight is Matrona/Dianne vs Meliodas which Dianne plans to stage so Meliodas can win.
But Ban decides to interfere with that plan to make it more fun.
