Last night episode of Kill La Kill had said shit 5 or 6 times and that is the show right after One Piece on Toonami.
-
This kind of reminds me of that episode of South Park back in 2002. Comedy Central gave Matt Stone and Trey Parker permission to say "shit" in just one episode of the show. So they made it into a huge event where they said "shit" over a hundred times and even had a meter to count each one.

That whole "shit" episode on South Park was great! And the first usage of it on TV (in-show) was so non-chalant lol! "Hey Mitchell, you've got some shit on the side of your lip there."

The newest batch of episodes is up on Funimation's website! The streaming schedule said they were supposed to come way later in the month (23rd I think?), but it seems the they are up right now.
-
a lot of people were complaining on their forum. Hopefully this is a one time thing and they will put out voyage 6 episodes before the release of the dvd
-
Finally got my hands on a copy of Voyage 5. Voices/commentaries were great, and Eric's pasta from the cooking with Sanji video looked awesome. Really glad Mike's back directing again this set, though I thought Joel did a good job with Voyage 4.
-
Watched through the episodes yesterday. Another great set! Great getting to hear new voices like Ivankov, Inazuma, and Shiliew; as well as more of the older ones like Buggy, Crocodile, Bon Clay, and others.

Josh Kocurek was recently on the podcast and gave some information on sales as well as what’s currently going on with season 8, Film Gold and the specials.

yea I just listened to that. pretty exciting things coming up, and I think I am more so excited about the fact that they are planning 3D2Y for this year. Now I am curious as to how quickly they will be able to get film gold. Hopefully this year but who knows with the film rights.
-
32DY Special is amazing, I'm glad they will release it on home video.
Can't wait for season 8 hoping for a june or july release.
-
Can someone quickly summarize what was said in the podcast? I would like to listen to it but I'm currently in school right now.
-
Weird that they went with that special, but I'm on board. He mentioned a home video release, but never said anything about a dub. Should we take it for granted that it'll be a dub? It'll be very nice to get One Piece outside of the voyages, as well.

What did they say about Film Gold and Season 8? Also, I'm pretty sure the 3D2Y home release will come with a dub as well.
-
Since 3D2Y takes place during the timeskip, it works as a good supplementary special to release between Seasosn 8 and 9. Plus it's the first special they licensed for streaming.
I can see why they went with that one. -

Film Gold they're working on getting into theaters and having a faster turnaround like the DBZ movies. And season eight will be announced in early Spring.

I don't think we should take it for granted that we will, but given all the evidence, the odds of it getting a home release sub only is incredibly unlikely.
-
Just listened to that part in the podcast. Sounds like they already have the license to Film Gold and I can't wait to see that in theaters when they release it and I'm really looking forward to Season 8 and the 3D2Y home release.

Someone asked on the podcast when they acquired the Sabo special if there is any possibility for home video release for the specials, he said yes they will eventually. They also asked him if they would dub the specials and he said everything we release on home video is dubbed.
-
I can confirm that since I was the one that asked that question. Also has Funimation ever released something that was just subbed only? for the most part, if they release something on dvd it is usually dubbed.
-
I'm not sure, I could see them releasing the first 3 films subbed if they ever get around to releasing them.
-
I don't really have a problem with them dubbing 3D2Y as like intermission point between Season 8 and Season 9. And I really enjoy the 3D2Y special
-

They've released a new series or two sub-only within the past couple of years as a new thing to try out, but other than that no. It's fair to say that anything One Piece related by FUNi won't be sub-only. If sub-movies were even a possibility I'm sure they would've released by now just like Manga UK. I really don't think FUNi wants that kind of dub/sub inconsistency in their One Piece catalogue.
-
I just realized this, if their intention is to release 3D2Y on Blu Ray and DVD later this year as an intermission between Season 8 and Season 9, then they're going to have start releasing a set a month in order to do that so 3D2Y could be released as an intermission in like December because it would be an awful idea to release it in the middle of Season 8 which would spoil a lot of things for new time viewers.
-
I came here to post the exact same thing Thegreatcaptainusopp, if they plan on releasing 3D2y by the end of the year then that means they will hopefully rush through marineford by doing a set a month because this is my favorite arc and would gladly purchase each set every month
They also said that the sales for the Voyages have been doing good , even the One Piece collections have been sold at a profit, if they can finish Season 8, release the 3D2Y special in dubbed format, and have a theatrical release for Film Gold this fall, then this will be a BIG year for one piece and would really raise its popularity especially if film gold turns out to be good.
-
I doubt that they will release all of Season 8 this year. I can't see them releasing a boxset every month to complete Season 8 to the end of the year. Because they be releasing too much at once.
-
Season 8 should only be five voyages. If they start releasing it in May/June with a six week gap, all of the season could be completed before 2017.
-
True, but I just feel like if they released 3D2Y before the season is finished, it would spoil new viewers with the timeskip but they're probably releasing 3D2Y for already fans, not first time watchers.

It's not like that stopped them from releasing Film Z.
-
@Galaxy:

OH MY GOD IM A FUCKING IDIOT! I don't know why that never crossed my mind as well as with Strong World because that came out a year before Brook was introduced in the dub. You're absolutely right! But regardless, I'm going to be picking up 3D2Y when it releases later this year because I've never seen it before and it's awesome that they're releasing the specials that they've licensed now.
-
I am still holding on to the slightest of hopes we can get a broadcast dub started once the dressrosa arc ends :p
-
Broadcast dub would be awesome tbh, but I'm just worried that it will affect the quality of the dub.
-
As awesome as a broadcast dub would be, there's an extremely slim chance of that happening.

Same here, the cast for One Piece is just too big and not all of the voice actors are locals. Patrick Seitz is LA based, for example.
-
I really don't mind there not being a broadcast dub, so long as the release schedule speeds up, or at least stays at the 4-6 week schedule. I loved that one day where we got two releases simultaneously.
And I'm excited about the Special since I've never seen it. But it looks like the setting is too spoilerific to show to my girlfriend if it comes out before the episodes get to that point.

show it to her after season 8 ends, it just shows a story that happened between the two year time skip
-
Wow guys looks like Season 8 will start earlier than expected, it will be coming out May 31st

Well this is interesting.
-
Oh wow. After the 3 month break between s7v4 and s7v5 and Josh mentioning a season 8 announcement in the spring I was expecting a mid-summer release. Nice.
-
I really hope this means, we will get them one month after each other from now on, to finish marineford and start the two year time skip
-
That's the same day One Piece: Burning Blood arrives in the US. Maybe it's not a coincidence that it has a Marineford Collector's Edition.
Dat cross-promotion. -
oh wow that is the same day that game arrives, if only it contained an english dub track :/
-
Weird that they put the three month gap between the season six voyage, rather than between the seasons.
Regardless, this is phenomenal news! I really hope they keep up with this sped-up schedule; I'd love to get the sets once a month.
-
Also, strangely, on the streaming schedule it says episodes 446 and 447 are being released for subscribers on March 15. Wonder if this means they'll start releasing two dubbed episodes per week or something.
-
What the heck is Funimation up to, i really hope they explain all of this in an announcement lol
-
Wow didn't expect season 8 to come so soon. If they keep putting them out every month and a half, we will definitely get the 32dy special this year
-
Great news
Rather strange Funimation is releasing season 8 without announcing it first, but it's awesome news never all the same. This is the arc I've been waiting for.
-
Well we have to remember the sets dont come out until May 31st, which is still pretty far from now
-
Nice to see Season 8 is coming out. But that a little bit too fast in my opinion. Since it's coming out an month right after the final volume of Season 7, and rather a 2 month break that we usually get between sets. I just don't want to see them starting to release the series too fast that it would be hard to kept up with the release. But I'm happy that we got a release date for the first volume of Season 8.
Amazon got Season 7, Voyage 5 for 24.99 right now, if anyone haven't gotten the set yet.
