I just watched the fight with Blueno last night. For those wondering what would be said when Luffy teases Third Gear, he puts his thumb in his mouth and says "now I call this one…" then Blueno passes out.
Oh, and yeah, that whole fight was awesome...this whole set is awesome...

I've actually been pretty bored with the content of this set. They've just been charging towards the main gate for forever. And it took like three episodes to take out the dumb giants.
Some things are great, though. I lovelovelove the animation of Spandam's scene when he's beating up Robin and going crazy. Their framing of her legs shaking as he kicked her was fantastic.
The CP9 scenes were great- I just saw them eat the devil fruit (not pacing this set so well). And even the annoying cp9 members are entertaining to watch.
And the fight with Blueno seems well animated so far. I just feel like I'm watching filler whenever the rest of the crew and franky family comes on.
Personally, I've been looking forward to Robin's past most. And her great scene that'll happen after the recaps next set. I've never liked the slow build up to the fights in this arc. Probably some of he best fights in the series, I have to admit.

Yeah the main problem I had with this arc was the incredibly slow pacing and all of the filler mixed into canon scenes. I mean the Lucci vs. Luffy fight took 16 freaking episodes. Not to mention the Boss Luffy episodes. :getlost:

Not looking forward to a sixteen episode long fight. The other fights should be better.
They're probably already dubbing season six or they're starting soon. They dub before announcing all the time.
I think the boss Luffy episodes would be fun! I've been wanting to see a one piece special in english forever. You can always skip over them and watch them when you're feeling like it.
I've never seen the episodes, but I'm looking forward to hearing old voices return.
Is it bad to say that I'm already looking forward to the next (cannon) arc? Sabaody sounds like the next goal, as far as anticipated arcs go. Not that I'm not excited for Thriller Bark, too.

You know I really really hope this is the year FUNimation announces more movies. And not only the popular and newest ones like Film Z, Strong World and Alabasta it would be so great to see them get ALL of them at once. But of course I'm dreaming and that will never happen. If FUNi really does announce Film Z at Otakon then I'll still be happy but I really hope they don't avoid the older ones.

Yeah. I mentioned those excessive unnecessary scenes. They rode around on those bulls for far too many episodes.
Why voyage three? The fights?

Haha. Monster chopper and the Usopp/Zoro combo should be fun. The Kaku fight, too. Those episodes will be fun to watch, I'm sure, but voyage two seems to have the most plot twists and whatnot. We'll have it in three weeks, I bet!

Just finished up the set last night. It was wonderful. The Luffy vs Bleuno was perfect for me since this is my first time seeing it in the anime. It definitely has me pumped up for the other 6 fights. The commentary and the on the boat was great too. The VA's seem excited about the fights and the growth in fighting skills. Sonny and Patrick had great things to say about One Piece. Very enjoyable.

Goddamn, Amazon.ca STILL hasn't shipped my S5V1 set. I wasn't THAT late in pre-ordering it, did they only get, like, a dozen from FUNi or something? I'm going on a two week vacation next weekend, now I'm worried I won't receive it before then :/

It makes sense why they wouldn't put longer, ongoing series, like One Piece, Toriko, or Fairy Tail on there.

Funimation needs to hire a quality checker. We've said it a hundred times by now.

…Okay, probably shouldn't worry too much about something as simple as a wrong number on the case, but... Seriously FUNi, that's pretty bad, letting a mistake like that slip through.

Mistakes happen, of course, but it seems like some errors on the DVD sets have been happening far too frequently.

I guess I haven't noticed as many of the mistakes in total. I've only noticed a few packaging and on disc errors.
Here's some of my thoughts on these missed mistakes:
As far as packaging goes, the process of proofing is suppose to go though a number of checks. For those not as familiar with printing and packaging methods, here's a breakdown of the process in general:
First, are the design checks, where they seem to be failing the most btw, looking over layout, spelling errors, readability, and design in general. When the design proof is finished, it is suppose to be signed off and approved by the client. Once that proof is approved, the designer sends the files to the printers.
When it gets to the printers, the press foreman does a few runs to check for quality and printing issues. He does color checks, alignment checks, looks to see how well the ink sticks to the substrate, etc. The press foreman then gives the final printing proof to the client to sign off on and approve again. Once that proof is approve, then the press workers do the main printing runs, fulfilling the print order.
From there the press sheets are sent to binding and finishing, where they do cutting, folding, and assembly (i.e. putting together the outer sleeve.) The client signs off and approves during this stage too. Finally the packaging is complete.
I'm not really sure if Funi does their packaging work in or out of house, but the fact that all these people are looking over the packaging and are still missing this many errors is what's really surprising. Also, it's possible that Funi has caught some of these mistakes in the past, but they were too far along in the process where fixing the mistake would be too costly. Ultimately, the person(s) signing off on the design proofs is the most responsible for these mistakes. In the end, Funi just need more thorough eyes looking over the designs.

Well, did you read what I wrote? Read it again, carefully.
Basically, that's how it was spelled on the spine packaging. There was a number of people who slammed FUNimation for that getting through the process, though a few defended FUNimation by also posting a link to a university's website explaining the nature of the phenomenon and why it could have easily gotten through quality control and, if you missed it in my previous post, why you missed it.

Well I finally got around to ordering the collections a few days ago, and they just came in the mail today. I got the best deal off of Amazon since they're selling them half off for about $17-18 each. The free shipping was a bonus, but I had to pay the tax on Amazon since I live in California and the collections were directly from Amazon.
I had been putting off getting the collections since I already have the voyages, but I'm happy I finally got them. Now I have a great lending set to let my friends and family borrow who've been interested in finding out more about One Piece but are intimidated by the size of the series. I'm going on a trip with my extended family in a few weeks, so I'll definitely be bringing the first 2 with me.

I thought the on the boat would've been Stephanie and Luci for sure. John is a surprise. It throws of the chain of Strawhats, which sucks, but maybe they decided to do Crocodile because of his connection with Robin. That's the only reason that would somewhat make sense at this point….
! … and the fact that Croc will eventually return, although I think it would make more sense to do it then.
