Wow, the PV looks pretty damn well animated. I mean, they can't possibly match their production values with Murata's work on a TV anime budget, but that looks like a nice enough compromise.

Actually, the more I look at the PV, the more impressed I get.

If the kind of animation quality on display there stays consistent, it will be pretty amazing show to look at.

One thing to remember is that, apparently, a lot of poeple who made Space Dandy are making this show, and if any of you recall, Space Dandy looked fucking amazing throughout it's run.

I didn't want to watch the leak, but I succumbed to the temptation.

Watched it, like, 8 times now.

Sweet Jesus up in the heavens… the packing noises you hear during the dream fight sequence is that of all the action anime production committees this season packing it up and leaving.

The pilot didn't do it for me, the animation was gorgeous and fluid but I'm not too much a fan of the directing especially the punches which seemed to lack a certain oomph, I don't know they didn't feel like they had that much impact, like the camera lingered on them enough and you didn't feel much of the connect.

Also the music sucks ass, boring, generic rock music, played at the same beat without escalating, doesn't feel heroic at all.

With that said, it did improve with the final fight sequence.

Well, judging by the PV, we have at least 2-3 more episodes of me freaking the hell out before animation quality jumps off a cliff.

Actually I think some of the really cool shots with Genos seem to be from when he's intercepting the asteroid, so it might keep up beyond the House of Evolution.

And the actual people behind this have Space Dandy under their belt, a show that was sakuga central.

Oh and there's another thing that instills me with some confidence: the very fact that a finsihed first episode leaked so soon. This implies that, unlike most other productions, these dudes aren't working under insane deadlines (for comparison, some of Kill la Kill episodes were supposedly turned in mere hours before airing… it showed... a lot) and have been given some time.

P.S I was being facetous anyway, I'm very much looking forward to Lupin III and Garo 2. Those count as action shows.

P.S.S You will probably see me freaking out like a crazed fanboy for some time. Prepare yourselves.

If you only read redrawn its a good idea to not think such things, there are some deviations but its not always a bad thing.

Not really, I see small changes that will connect with stuff that has happened in the original.

Garou seems to be heading where Metal Bat is, so I can see someone showing up to save him(probably another S class Hero).

If in fact Garou doest fight Metal Bat and Watchdog Man, I can only see that ending up with the two getting beat up, if this arc is going to smoothly connect to Garou arc.
Which would be a bit of shame, those two had a mysterious aura of strength about them (especially Watchdog Man), and Garou isn't yet in his peak.

Hopefully I'm wrong about this. An interrupted draw would be nice, but them getting injured would make a lot of sense in future context.

We're borderline spoiler territory, so let's be careful or take it next door. Concerning the topic though, I recall the ONE chapters for this arc jumping a lot. IE: Fights ended off-screen on a few occasions, then jumping ahead. Maybe someone has recently read through both, or re-read through them that might remember better? I recall the earlier arcs being almost identical to Murata's, the only change being updated artwork and an extended action sequence here or there. Again, it seemed like these chapters in ONE's version ended abruptly, whereas these chapters have been giving them a more thorough or proper ending / transition…? (In addition to adding content that is meant to fill other gaps).

The episode was beautiful but… just me feeling this anime will completely miss the mark?

They put too much effort on Saitama's dream where everything was made the most dramatic possible way so he would look as cool as fuck in any shot.
The fact they were giving too much focus to Fubuki and Tatsumaki on the promo even though they shouldn't appear anywhere soon (and either way shouldn't be treated as main characters) got me worried they would try to turn this into a regular fanservice "cool series". Now this first episode... yeah...

I can entirely believe it. He didn't even break sweat fighting Melzalgald, and just took on two Demon level monsters simultaneously with ease. He's definitely a Dragon level fighter.

I would say he and Sweet Mask are pretty much similar strength. Also it kind of felt like that when they were about to fight each other.

Though this makes Silver Fang being number 3 that much more of a monster - he certainly is stronger than both Sweet Mask and Metal Bat and seeing what they can do I do wonder if he perhaps had any ace up his sleeve when he faced Meteor himself or if he simply wanted to go out with a Bang ().

What I wonder is if we will get trolled with Blast or will he will in fact end up as most impressive S-class hero, being somebody who would give impression of being stronger than Tatsumaki.

Metal bat's fight had been the best episode of the redrawn version in quite a long time.

If they want to add more content to the original version this is the right stuff. It looks great, makes good use of Murata's talent and doesnt add filler to a good story that has no need for any.
