Another note on the book: Uhh Taboo/E1n whoever xD The site says to place a piece of wax paper between the pages to prevent smudge damage, what about spraying them with like hairspray or some sort of art spray to stop that?

I've been thinking about that, and I think that if you're planning on using charcoal or a very residue-y medium, it would be best to use wax paper. But I don't think you'll need to use it if you just use ink or pencil (not using wax paper with pencil is your own judegment).

DW: markers like SHARPIE will definitely bleed thru (i've tried), but brands like vis-a-vis worked just fine (that's the red and blue i used up there).

Might be a problem when doing group-doujin >< I can't draw something without failing several times, erasing, redoing, finally getting it right, and then scanning and cleaning.

You can buy wax paper at the supermarket, next to the aluminum foil and plastic wrap.
I wouldn't worry much about pencils smudging. Only if it's lots of big patches of really dark, soft pencils spots, or charcoal, pastels…. If you're worried about markers, just put something underneath the paper while you do it, and then let it dry before closing the book.

Well, it's good to have a general idea of what you want to draw ahead of time. It doesn't need to be merticulously planned out to the last detail though. x3

three heads at the top were doodled when sober. the rest were after my roommates and i killed leftover vodka and bacardi in the fridge.

last time i tried to make a so-called masterpiece on a 7x10 sketchbook was back when i was at a starbucks in minnesota, and ended up making this.
later on i regretted that i had something like that on a 7x10 instead of an 11x17. not to mention how painful it was fitting that many people on a 7x10 paper -__-

Nobody ever said they use sketchbooks only for doodling. I do some serious work in it too, but the way we came up with the idea to do this came from the idea of people getting together and just casually and spontaneously doodling. I mean, we draw stuff and scan it and post it here all the time, if this was no different, then what's the point? You can do whatever you want in it, the only thing I don't want to see is people feeling pressured to perform or match up to what someone else did or get all stressed out trying to come up with an idea. Instead, be inspired and just let go and do whatever your hands decide to do. :)
