I thought so too. Mashima and his team are really good at building up a sense of place in the environments the characters are in.
As for disturbing panels, was it the bottom-right panel on this page?

You know. I forgot to comment on the things I liked about this chapter.
The backgound art was good.Dislikes?
There's a panel that's almost disturbing as the ones from last week.
Can you tell me which one if you don't mind?
Yeah Maron. That one.
I think it was when things got merged or whatever.
But let's be serious here. I did nothing but speak the truth, and there are far more asshats in this thread then my simple "hey look Lucy has titties" comments.
I missed your lucy's tits comments. Am I one of those ass hats?
Hey, Uncle Kenny here, I decided to lurk this thread today.
As for disturbing panels, was it the bottom-right panel on this page?
Thank you. Thank you for pointing out a detail that I easily missed when I read the chapter. Now please excuse me while I go stab my eyes out with forks.

I didn't even notice that during the first read. Damn…
Dammit Fairy Tail .
Jailbait .

The hell. I didn't notice this at all. There's shameless fanservice, there's the unfortunate implications with Yukino and now there's this, all in one arc. No, Fairy Tail isn't obviously going to get better in any way if it hasn't gotten better in 200 chapters. I have no reason to read this series other than the hope that it gets better, so I'm dropping this.
I'm actually more bothered by Charle then Wendy. I did not need to see that cat naked.
@Thousand:
I'm actually more bothered by Charle then Wendy. I did not need to see that cat naked.
Too many years of Negima Desensitization.
True, but it's more the fact that I hate that cat.
Holy shit lol, what was Mashima thinking.

This kind of stuff doesn't even bother me anymore.
I just laugh at it nowadays.
Yeah, seeing a cat naked is so disturbing. I have to avert my eyes every time my cat at home strolls across my path. What a slut, parading around in front of me like that.
Maybe I've just been desensitized from seeing plenty of manga/anime with much, much worse sexualization and flaunting than anything seen in this chapter, but you guys seem awfully squeamish to me. I bet you'd have a heart attack if you saw this week's TIME magazine cover.
Meh, Chrome pole dancing was a far worse experience than that panel…
As for disturbing panels, was it the bottom-right panel on this page?
Seriously? Just…seriously? (And that's not aimed at Mashima btw)
Whatever, my chapter review:
Chapter 282: Ten Keys and Two Keys
What Went Down: So we pick up with Yukino meeting up with Lucy, Natsu and Happy and offering Lucy the Libra and Pisecs keys as she was going to give them up after the tournament. But feels now is a good time since she no longer with Sabertooth. Astonishingly Lucy refuses as she doesn't wish to break the bonds between Yukino and her keys. We also learn that Yukino was just a place holder for another Sabertooth member meaning we haven't seen all of them yet. As well as the key to the changing world (she also surprisingly brings up material from the latest anime filler). As Yukino leaves, Natsu and Happy chase after to apologize for their rude behavior when meeting her and learn of her ex-communication from Sabertooth which of course hits Natsu's berserk button. We get a little look in on Ezra and Gray (with the former trying to push him to return Juvia's feelings, lol). More of Arcadios's plotting before getting back to the main situation as Natsu suddenly attacks Sabertooth's headquarters looking of Jiemma. This…can't end well.
Cheers and Jeers: Well color me shocked, a lot of folks called it that Yukino would give away her keys to Lucy, was even planning on it much later. But Lucy refusing was quite surprising and I like it. Its in her nature after all I mean she was hesitant to take Virgo's key since she thought Happy stole it and only accepted the other keys when their masters were defeated since they were being used for evil. This time someone was offering it to her because they felt they weren't worthy and Lucy refuses as it still technically her keys and there no reason to take them. So yeah kudos on Lucy for that.
Some interesting exposition here as well with first, Yukino mentioning the Zenotopia incident which, from the panel, is the Key of the Starry Sky arc in the anime (clever tie-in there) plus The Gate of the Changing World. Add in with the eclipse thing Arcadios was talking about before and suddenly the puzzle pieces start falling into place. Once again I like it as it shows why the gold keys were so rare in the first place. How Lucy ties in with this though remains to be seen but Yukino apparently knows something we don't. Oooh intriguing.
Sadly no advancement on Ezra's little dilemma other then seeing her fret about it but it was cute that she was trying to get Gray to at least acknowledge Juvia's love for him. So yeah there you go Gray/Juvia shippers, lap it up.
And no surprise on Natsu actions at the end, you can pretty much countdown to it once Yukino told him what happened. I'm pretty sure this is going to end up with him flat on his face. Seriously he's in enemy territory by himself with none of his team knowing he's there, strong he is but I doubt that special treatment gonna kick in now. It'd be a miracle if he can get out and be able to fight come the new portion of the tournament. But hey Mishima been throwing some good curve balls lately, so we'll see.
Overall great chapter, the intrigue piles up and we got a excellent cliffhanger to boot. Gold star.
Grade: A+

My sig wants this.
If you want it, go for it.
@Thousand:

Are you saying you'd be fine with it if you didn't hate her?
I was more concerned about the Wendy thing than Charle. I mean, Happy's a nudist too and no one calls him out on that…
Most cartoon animals, really. Yogi Bear dresses like a male stripper, and no one's ever called him out on that before. And let's not even get into the principal cast of Looney Tunes…
Donald Duck is a bastard, how he dares to stay pantless while everyone else isn't? And then the hypocritical wears a towel to go to bath…
Anyway, I didn't really bother about Wendy because I thought she was dressing herself, and mostly because I didn't even notice it.

lol, cats are the worst. Fanservice goes from funny to annoying to offensive for some, I guess or people just want something complain about…personally I decided to not read Fairy Tail anymore because I'll just end up hating and complaining about every arc. I thought about quitting Naruto and Bleach, too, but those are ending and there are parts of them that I have reread and actually really liked. Fairy Tail has always been sort of average.
I wasn't even looking at Charlie. We see Happy like that all the time afterall.
It's Wendy. Yeah, yeah.
SERIOUSLY!!
The building is on fire! Everyone escape right away!!
Oh shut up.
I just find watching a little kid buttoning up her pajamas(while revealing some skin) a tad bit disturbing. No big deal.
I like to think that Mashima placed naked Charla there just to pull our attention away from Wendy.
Imagine if it was a full panel with no cat.
No wait.
Don't imagine that!
I thought so too. Mashima and his team are really good at building up a sense of place in the environments the characters are in.

Okay, I mean like….this is fricken stupid. I can ignore when people use characters who are like 16 for this, mostly because they're drawn in such a way that they don't even resemble a 16 year old and it's fully intentional, or even how females in this series tend to share stuff by undressing, but here, it's like, she's fucking 12 and drawn to look as much.
I mean, is Mashima honestly trying to please someone who would wank off to that ? I know I sure as fuck wouldn't want to.

You just reminded me. Me and Nolus got and skype the other day and were riffing Yogi Bear and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose (well, the first 50 minutes, as the rest is nowhere to be found anywhere on the internet except maybe as a download) and while looking for the missing parts I ran across a slash fic based on this movie.
You have no idea how long I took to recover from that.
It's not that a big deal No Mamm.
But then agian, I always find your sexual overreactions with Wendy kinda funny.
Please contunue.

http://www.mangareader.net/katekyo-hitman-reborn/384 U mad? (She's the same age as wendy(probably))

Why would that be disturbing? The disturbing thing would be the reason why it has been drawn…
But ah, fetish is fetish...
this is what happens when a whole generation doesn't grow up on Hanna Barbarra cartoons and get to see pantsless animals.

BTW I noticed natsu said something rather interesting to Yukino in the recent chapter
http://mangastream.com/read/fairy_tail/76092768/17
" I understand the bitterness of being humiliated and having your guild stamp erased" is mashima implying that natsu was part of another guild before joining fairy tail? or that he's just simply sympathizing with her?

Not to mention his girlfriend wears a skirt but strolls around without a top. But hey, at least The Looney Tunes Show is bringing awareness to this issue towards Porky Pig.

I'd say it's the latter.
And I'm not sure I understand what Lucy's saying on this page. So before, she thought she would gather all the keys, but now she doesn't think she'll gather all the keys? Even though she was just offered the last two? or is she saying that she thinks she's undeserving of having all of them? I'm wondering if it's just a bit of a wonky translation or something.
Funny how people are offended of seeing a bit of Wendy's stomach when she has shown much more naked skin than that. If anything, focus on what seems to be Fairy Tail's first ever female nipple shot on the next page.
I liked the chapter. Nice surprise that Lucy isn't just getting Yukino's keys from the start. And for Natsu's standards, he actually was a bit badass in the last three pages.
Just got done watching episode 130 and this filler arc so far is great. I especially like Byro's Earthland design and it seems that Gildartz will be facing off against Byro in next weeks episode.

Looks like people are getting desperate about finding something in Fairy Tail to bash. Hard times for the haters lately.
I don't understand. Who's bashing this week?
Writing several posts/mini-rants about that one Wendy panel counts as bashing in my opinion. You don't think so?
I think you are overreacting.
Like.
Defensive when there isn't really a need to be.
Not at all. I'm as cool as a cucumber. :]
Yeah right, but whatever. I'm not really sure what it takes to satisfy those that see posts with no malicious intents as blatant bashing.
Maybe it's like the boy who cried wolf. And you are a cynical villager.

Hahah, I can't even begin to decipher what pictures like that even mean.

Same here. I thought it was a popular reference, and that I'm not as hip and with it any more lol.

This is a common problem in both the fairy tail and the naru/bleach thread. People make this analysis of these comics like they're reading an article about a new major theory in biogenetics. It gets a bit embarrassing sometimes.

In Bleach, the constant lose grip on objective reality Kubo suffers is well worth examining, just for entertainment value alone. He's the only person I know who would make an arc supposedly being centered around a certain character, and even acknowledging it as such, and then have that same character be completely inconsequential to the story and off panel for most of it.
With this, I am honestly just amazed that Hiro would do this. I mean, I for one don't think it's entierly alright to try and atract those same people who would buy a Wendy pillow and have sex with it, especialy by 12 year old sideboob shots.

You're underestimating the Japanese here, not just Hiro.
the japanese are weird and we all know this…moving along.
Has anyone here played Sunday X Magazine for the PSP?
No, but that game was released way before there was even a FT anime, so Natsu has a different VA in it.
That's honestly the extent of my knowledge about the game. Is it the Shonen Magazine ver. of Jump Super Stars or something?
