@Razh:
I don't know, kinda boring. I appreciate a flesh out of interesting characters, though. Not much more to say. The chapter was quite uneventful. Enemy-general-hype-chapter.
Yeah, this is a very typical transitional chapter. I also like that these two are getting expanded on.
@MiyamotoMusashi:
That´s always been a problem in Kingdom, random opponents pop up who suddenly are as strong or stronger than previous guys but we have never heard of them…
That´s one thing Oda does really well and most authors, not only Hara, do not.
He at least elaborates on the character and does not leave them as just that, some more shallow than others but besides Ordo, other characters felt satisfying. I guess we could see more of their exploits before the war they are featured starts, but then what do you take out?
@auem:
Scope
@MiyamotoMusashi:
Scope and character introductions
I think the scope is different, while in One Piece conflicts can be resolved in a day or a couple of hours, at least Kingdom's scope is more realistic. I think One Piece is good at the macro, and Kingdom is more micro.
The best place to introduce all these titles would have been during the coalition war. But is that too late? As I read, given the perspective is from Shin, I felt that his progression and knowledge about other's states top military was natural. I thought Hara played with the concept of the titles being meaningless when he introduced Chu as well. Strong people are going to be everywhere, and some of them are going to be more significant than others, but given the context of Kingdom's wars, it is completely necessary they are there.
I will not deny that some character should have had more impact considering they were going to play a role further down the line. (Wei commander).
I would prefer that the dedicated more panel time to the relationship between the Hi Shin unit instead of the antagonists.
@Razh:
I remember Rinshoujo was mentioned, but that's really it. The biggest problem in Hara-hyping is that it's mostly done through words of a third person. Like in this chapter where we have some random soldiers filling us in, right before the act. It's a case of telling instead of showing. It wouldn't be much of an issue if it wasn't the n-th time this has happened.
This is true, we could have seen scenes of the characters doing the deeds in the flashback, but they are about to show their "true strength" now. Lazy? Maybe.
@MiyamotoMusashi:
Yan will have strong guys, Han will have them and so forth, we do not know about their existence at this point though.
So for these nations, what should Hara do differently before they become relevant, or is it too late?
