I have a feeling that with the Hi Shin Unit used as bait, and with En-san getting the spotlight with the river plan… You can guess what this could mean

So Hi Shin Unit is a highlighted enemy of the Zou. Shin is well-known for his battle exploits so this makes sense. I can understand the thinking process of both sides on this one with Shin being left to dry and lacking knowledge. Especially after Shin crossed the river, Keisha must have thought that was inpenetrable from a defensive standpoint.
I don't think Kanki did it purposely to Shin, but he knew the inactivity would end up provoking the enemy. It just happens to be Shin.
I think Shin gets too underestimated here. I don't know if he kills Keisha this soon, but would be an interesting wrinkle to the story. Zenou as backup will definitely help, he's just gonna tank right through the enemy forces.

Since when did Shin became an enemy of the Minks?:P

i really start to hate the portrayal of Shin… where are his instincts? he reacted 5 seconds faster then the command of karyoten came? i understand that the overall tactics are made by ten... but damn he doesn't even know the basics... and thats just not enough, he just brute force and nothing more... not even instincts...

I don't know what you expected. Was he supposed to feel the attack coming before it even happened? He reacted fast enough considering the circumstance. It's not like he was on some hill, having an overview of the entire battlefield. He was busy keeping himself and his men alive, holding a position which couldn't be held without reinforcements, suddenly getting hit from both sides at the same time.
I'm guessing even Ouki and Duke Hyou fought for quite a while before their jedi powers awoken.

Even people who have been with Keisha for years are surprised by this move. "Silent Hunter" making a loud move wasn't predictable.
Now he could have shown better battle sense from getting surrounded, but this is his time to shine now. Fighting his way out of a jam is Shin's specialty.

He didn't have enough people to take care they don't get surrounded. That was the whole point of asking for reinforcements. They knew they won't be able to hold down the opposition on their own after noon, and it's already noon and they are having to deal with enemies on 2 sides.

Well i think you understood me wrong… the problem is not shins reaction in this chapter, that was actually not that bad. Its more the thing that how longer it goes the more i hate that Ten always needs to tell shin what is to do. I actually can't see him lead men on his own when its not only to go berserk. I need way more of these moments, shin needs to lead people on his own.
By the way ist it just me or is Garo more and more shown as the strongest fighter beside shin and of course Kai... well his stats already showed that, but his portrayal actually also leads to that

Oh, this arc definitely needs Shin thinking of stuff on his own. I think I discussed this with someone when this arc began, maybe even you.
Just don't think he could have done much more in this situation. There just isn't enough maneuvering space. Their job was to hold Batei and Ryutou as long as they can, and without reinforcements, that's pretty much all they can do.
Just hope they don't somehow start overpowering one of the sides, because it would be too much considering their position. They either need to get reinforcements or the enemy needs to get distracted. By Zenou at their backs or something.
-
1 of shins strong points as a leader is that he accualy can lead people in battle, he has the charisma to make people want to follow him. he can boost the morale of his men much better than the frail ten or the shy koukai
-
But he's had that for a while now. We need more growth and the only part lacking so far was strategic and tactical thinking. Although, there are signs in this arc already that he's getting the hang of it. He sounds more convincing on meetings with Kanki's men, and he seems to be picking up changes faster than before.

Well its true that if shin is in the front it gives a boost to the morale of the Men… but the stats of shin in leadership is the weakest of these three...

Ah okay that makes sense. I work the graveyard shift so sometimes I forget small details like that.

For the first few pages i was fearing they were gonna say how Ryuutou was the man on Riboku's level, in order to maybe hype him up for something, but thankfully he wasn't. I don't think Kanki is either on that level so far, but for now i'm just hoping that these panels of Riboku that we're getting are hinting at him coming back. Also Keisha lost all the respect that he maybe had so far
-
He can still restore it by killing Zenou.
This is probably what's going to happen. Or at least he won't just get killed here.

How is Keisha not dead yet?
Zenou is coming at him at full speed, is directly in front of him, with noone capable of stopping him and Keisha is standing frozen still. -
new chapter http://bato.to/reader#65197725006aab36
looks like shin has his time to shine with his own idea
-
Keisha may be able to teleport himself, but by doing so he definitely lost all his charm. Here's hoping Shin can take him out, but Keisha's thoughts make it sound like there will be another more direct conflict between him and Kanki, that could shed light on some history they may have.
-
I like to think that was just to show that Keisha vs Kanki is still ongoing.
-
Has Shin reached the stage where he can take the head of the supreme commander in a war?
-
It's bullshit how Kei Sha escaped.Very disappointing last two chapters.
-
He cut through the enemies, leaving nobody alive. Which indicates he's really dangerous in a fight, along with what we have already seen from him.
If that's bullshit, most of the feats in this campaign are bullshit.
-
it wouldnt be the first time that somebody killed a lot of people with oe slay of their weapon

well the problem that he is talking about is probably not that keisha escaped, but more how he escaped… zenou raged trough the zhao without much effort and he reached keisha and was no more then a few mens away from him... zenou should have easily killed him. That cliffhanger was just to much and that should have not been handled like this.
But the arc so far is still really good and i like Kisui and his men.

It wasn't really necessary to make it appear like Zenou was that close. It can be explained with Zhao defenses pushing him back a little with their numbers. I can forgive a couple of cliffhangers like this one, I guess.
Zenou raged through Zhao until he came close to Keisha, at which point Kisui attacked him and diverted his attention, putting him and his men on the defensive. There's really no way to tell how easily Keisha would have been killed by Zenou. There's a good implication Keisha is actually really strong.
Keisha waited for the moment when Zenou's men will be too busy and plowed through the enemy that was between him and the hill. You can see some blood on his sword in that panel where they realize he has slipped.
-
it seems you guys always forget that there are stats out for the most of the important players, these are made from the author himself… also for keisha and hes actually not really that strong...
-
Is this the battle where Kanki fucks up?
-
Nah that's later in history.
-

With all due respect, fuck stats. Does it mean the person with higher stats always wins? It doesn't. The author puts those out for fun. As far as stat systems go, it's not even a well thought out one.
Maybe I should just consider this nothing special because Keisha's strength stat is 88…
!
Btw, I'd appreciate if spoilers were put in spoiler tags. Haven't really had a chance to study China's history of warfare, so please be considerate.
-
i would consider this picture as important if the character that said something about the strength of keisha wouldnt be bihei who is considered a regular soldier without any fights against strong opponents… You cant call someone with this stats strong enough to challenge someone like zenou or Shin... and Zenou should have trashed keisha without much effort, even though we dont know his stats, but he sent kisui flying like it was nothing. when keisha could have fought zenou he would have done it, but it was clear he stood no chance.

Bihei's spear is made from the same metal any other spear is made of.
You know, you don't always need to take an attack. Some people like to dodge.
This is starting to look like a silly power level talk.
-
But if Keisha is worth 7 Raditzes and Shin is worth 500 Krillins, where does Bihei stand in all of this?
-
I'd say about 2 cavendishs
-

Silly is that you are ignoring facts made by the author himself, there is nothing that indicates that keisha could take on zenou… not the stats, nor the clear fact that he run away from him... i think its appropriate to say that keisha is no pushover, but clearly not in the league of the stronger guys in this war.

Stat tables don't account for everything, otherwise Shin would have been dead, instead of managing to push Houken, for example. You should take them more as a basic guideline instead of something set in stone that determines how the plot will move forward.
Keisha didn't run away out of fear from Zenou. He ran so they don't lose the battle. Zenou was busy with Kisui anyway.
Zenou may have brute strength but brute strength is not everything. As we've seen many times in Kingdom.
-
of course he didn't run away out of fear, he never looked like he lose his poker face… but he run away with one clear intention, and that was to stay away from zenou. Keisha never was shown as a elite fighter. the only thing you talk as a given is that oneliner from Bihei... Keisha is no weakling, just like mangoku was no weakling, he also had stats 88... he could fight shin and give him some trouble, but that's it, he lost clearly...
and houken, well one thing was the main character manga bonus... and he only fought with one arm because the other was broken...
but one thing is clear, we will not find us in this discussion... but the manga will probably tell us who's right and who's wrong.
-
Shin and his unit is now attacking Keisha… nothing new here. but i still wonder why even now Ten needs to stay in the fray and tell the unit whats to do, here should be the moment for shin to lead them. but that was probably just to give Kai a good comeback and save the day/ten. There is likely to come a rematch with Ryuutou but in a direct 1 on 1 against Kai i cant see him have a chance.
Am i the only one to actually really likes Kisui, Batei and Ryuutou? These guys are now fighting the war for Zhao, they are in the focus. Keisha and her 2 guys havent much evolved in this war. But what does that mean? Is Keisha going to die, or is it Kisui and his men that are on there last legs? Is Keisha probably losing the war but will come back in a later war? i really dont know... -

Unstoppable monster directly in front of Keisha, who in turn is shocked, standing still …. I could swear I have seen that scene before.
But I really do not want Keisha to die yet, although its pretty much inevitable at this point. And even if he survives somehow again, he didnt exactly covered himself in glory this arc.

Live-adaptation 3 minute video for Kingdom has released to celebrate its 10th year anniversary:

The video looks pretty good. Any plans for a movie?
