Well that settles it; Luffy does want the Mera Mera Fruit as a momento to Ace or at least wants someone special to eat it. I like this little expansion in Luffy's persona, sine he is usually so Apathetic to things or people that do not immediately relate to his goal or who he has not befriended.
It was a bit annoying that we did not get more on Caribou's story; the colour spread is nice and all, but the fact that he's a revolutionary look-a-like just made the cover story interesting.
I wonder what Sanji is going to do; I know he is a ditz when it comes to women, but even he cant simply be told to kill anyone right….........Right? At the very least I hope he gets away from that crazy b*tch, Violet..........AND SHE IS NOT NEXT NAKAMA CANDIDATE!!! -
Decent set-up chapter this week.
Despite the nosebleeds, I am actually intersted where the plot point with Violet is going. Also, more splitting up usually means more exploring the island and that's always fun.
There's also where Zoro's going to end up and whatever is going on with Kinemon for the factory search group. Looking forward to all that's coming with the Ceasar group and Sunny group as well. For some reason I just like that there seems to be more time taken with this, it seems fast in a certain sense because the tournament is already starting, but after Luffy punched that champion guy, I can't help but think that the tournament is just gonna be one part of the arc instead of the whole point. That and Diamante is just only one of Doflamingo's seats, if this arc really deals with Doflamingo and his entire crew, there has to be some kind of twist with the whole thing because Luffy was the last one to sign up and basically only one of the crew to sign up, so left to deal with this alone, which is wierd if this event really is the whole point of the arc.
Also, "Lucy" amused me and the toy soldier seems fun. -

s perfect for using haki in combat. People say that Blackbeard is overpowered with all his abilities, but I dont get it why people don`t see that number of powers and destructive capability are less important than basic combat skill and versatility. -

Blackbeard doesn't only have devil fruits he is also an experienced pirate who fought in countless battles in the past so he probably has HakiA devil fruit makes you so powerful against fodder but not against strong haki users,if their haki is stronger than yours then you're done for..If tashigi for example had a strong haki she could have beaten Trafalgar law back in punk hazard arc,that's why Smoker told her that she can't do anything to him because her haki is weak

You make it sound like it is so easy. The only ones who have successfully used Haki against DF attacks as protection are 1.) Shanks, 2.) Rayleigh (Shabondy), 3.) all 3 admirals, 4.) the Boa sisters against Luffy in his base form 5.) Sentoumaru.

Not so easy I'm just saying that even if you have a devil fruit it doesn't make you stronger than a "Haki user" it only gives you more abilities…like flying and stuff

Look at the list why Sanji "can" get the Mera Mera fruit:
1- Sanji use fire in his attacks. Power up.
2- Sanji with sky walk doesn't need to swim if Jimbei joins.
3- Zoro will cut fire so Sanji/Zoro rivalry.
4- Sanji needs to become stronger than Jimbei.
5- Mugiwaras needs a Logia in crew. Zoro, Franky, Nami, Ussop, Jimbei can swim. Chopper, Brook, Luffy, Robin, Sanji? 5-5 swimmer and non swimmer.
6- Sanji needs to get a higher bountie. One higher than Jimbei so Jimbei will be the 4th force.
7- Sanji is the third in command like Copper Gaban was in Gol D Roger crew.
8- The Strawhat pirates will get an influence of Gol D Roger pirates and Whitebeard Pirates. Luffy (Rayleigh), Sanji (Marco and Ace fruit?)
9- I want to see Sanji creating HEARTS with fire.
10- Blackbeard is getting the strongest fruits, this is a way to hide one.
11- Sanji can cook with his OWN fire.
12- Ace was the third most powerful in Whitebeard army, Sanji will become the third most powerful in Strawhat pirates after Jimbei joins.
13- Strawhat pirates will become more dangerous is they get that fruit for a crewmate.
14- Sanji can light his own cigarretttes with a finger.
15- Sanji yellow hair=fire come on!!!!
16- Zoro is the only one who did an important thing for Luffy, getting all the damage from Kuma. This is a way for Sanji to do some sort of sacrifice for to protect him Luffy.
17- I think Sanji will be seriously damaged this arc and the only way to save him will be to eat that fruit.

That´s why the majority of the elite in One Piece are fruit users and that´s also why BB searched frantically for the Yami Yami no Mi. On the other hand, once you actually reach that level without a DF, it is obviously advantageous for you. You do not have an apparent weakness (sea water, sea stone), Haki does not necessarily protect the opponent from your attacks and so forth but like i said, to reach the top without a fruit is so much harder.

When the chapter hit the whole Sanji/Violet thing, I thought violet was Baby 5 at first and I lost my shit… but no. I was actually kind of hoping Baby 5 would fall in love with Sanji or something to complicate things even further.

I know about the usage of nose bleeds in Japanese fiction ,especially manga and anime but i am surprised that people find this still funny, though i guess it would be appropriate for 13-17 year olds.
Well, I´ll always remember a certain Dragonball scene when Yamcha was fighting the Invisible Man and Goku flew half around the globe to pick up Master Roshi, bring him back to show him Bulma´s boobs so that Roshi´s nosebleed makes the guy visible. Legendary.
Doesn´t mean I laugh everytime this happens to Sanji nowadays. Also it´s kind of pathetic that Sanji called himself the man who was born to love women in front of Ivankov…not sure how he wants to pull off loving if a hug/kiss almost kills him (and FI made his bleeding a health issue so it´s no longer just a pure gag).
Anyway, the scene wasn´t that bad. I believe she´s honest until proven otherwise, unless...Dofla is really that cunning and a mastermind, he could be behind Zoro´s sword theft and even this Violet manipulating Sanji into a trap hmm.

I just hope no straw-hat to eat it.
Also, I think Oda did a well done job with Luffy's reaction, he wanted it, but stayed as silly as usual (didn't became suddenly serious and so out-of-character.)
The toy soldier is cool.

I know that everyone doesn't want to hear about Sabo and I personally don't even like his character, but I think that he is the one who is going to eat the Mera Mera. No SH is going to eat simply because this would change too much the characteristics of a character. Another power change right after a time-skip? No way. Like someone said, Coby is being trained by Garp. He is going to have the same fight style. I don't see some insignificant brat like Monomosuke eating something as important as Ace's fruit. Sabo is the best option. He has an emotional link with Ace and Luffy.
Maybe he is going to appear sooner than we think. Maybe he is going to appear as a masked fighter in the tournament and eat it.

It's been a while since I last posted a comment in AP forums, my bet is on Sanji eating the mera mera fruit. He's a cook.. and all those fire based technique. Hints are there Luffy wants to give it to someone he trusts, being one of the monster 3.. Sanji couldn't keep up with the "future no. 1 Swordsman and the future Pirate King" unless he'll have a huge power up.

I know some people want Sanji to be level headed and cool like Zoro all time but that's just not him. He goes nuts over women and has nose bleeds every now and then. Last time it happened was a brief moment when he saw Monet right? Who cares? It's been a long time since then. Sanji has an awesome mix of silly and cool, very much like Luffy.
Sanji flying around, giving speeches to Jinbe, Blue Walking in the deep sea, getting all the mermaid love, saving Tashigi and G5 from the toughest opponent since the time skip, feeling responsible for Kinemon and rescuing the kids without being some lovy dove pedophile. The guy is great and despite the annoying full on plot point that was the nose bleed I don't get the hate. He's a horny guy who lives on a ship with 2 hot women that don't return his advances, of course he's going to go wild when out in the wild. Some guys are just like that and Sanji is one of them.
The Sanji hate reminds me of a mom or a wife(not mine), you do so many good things they love, then you turn around and do one thing they don't like and it defines your entire existence for life.
There was a short time where I was genuinely getting annoyed with Brooks's jokes, but not to the point that I think it completely detracts from his character. I just realized he was alone for a heck of a long time and his social skills were just reduced to nothing. He was the product of his environment much like Sanji is now especially with where he was for the last 2 years.
I should have known Luffy would be interested in the fruit, but I expected him to be pretty indifferent towards it. This is great development though and I loved how Luffy asked if Franky wanted it right off the bat. If the fruit does get recovered it will make for some interesting character development of the fruitless reflecting on their individual roles and styles of fighting. There is absolutely no way any one of the 9 or Jinbe will eat it though, it just isn't happening. That statement I stand firmly by. I could see someone wanting to eat but it will be something Oda will not allow.
Aside from the major story and character implications it would have I feel its just too "cool" of a power. Except for maybe Sanji, all the Straw Hat's have an element of silliness and absurdity to their powers. Though that's not much of an argument considering how less silly Nami's abilities have gotten.

I don't want anyone in the SH crew to eat the Mera Mera no Mi, but I was rewatching Baratie lately and I hate to admit it, but when Sanji was fighting Pearl and said he wasnt afraid of fire made me think that Oda was foreshadowing that he will eat te fruit.:unsure:
I reeeeealy hope it's just my imagination.
