Usually Mangacow, followed by Mangapirate at a slightly improved quality. The HQ scan+trans won't come out until saturday on batoto.
And on that note, mangapirate has been down for almost a week, and as for mangacow.. :(
Hopefully The Company will make a release earlier than usual.
I hate it, when mangafox releases a ToG chapter on sunday, because I always forget that its just the company translation and not the new one.
So um, I guess the translated chapter isn't out yet?
So um, I guess the translated chapter isn't out yet?
Sorry but it looks like we're waiting on the company this week, but reddit has a full summary of the chapter along with links to several fan translated pages http://www.reddit.com/r/TowerofGod/comments/194sbk/chapter_253_133/
Thank you! But I think I'd rather read the chapter properly. I clicked the link but the first thing I read was a minor spoiler, so I'm scared to look for the fan translated links now. XD
Whoa… what an awesome chapter this week... i can't describe my excitement when saw the chapter on naver.
starting with the nightmare of Koon... i don't know if anybody noticed this but.. Koon has extinguished the flames of Yihwa on the medical needle... i thought only Baam was able to control the flames..
& then.. Dan is alive ... woot.... but Rachel is one f**king bitch.. she took out the legs of Dan which he used to pride upon.. looks like Dan won't be as powerful (in running away.. :P) as he used to be... me very sad.. & Gyetang (chicken) is dead itseems.. me really sad.. :(
& finally .... the S1 Team is shown... woot.. Ship Leeso is looking badass.. he should get the award for the person who improved his badassery the most ... & look.. he is sitting the same sofa with Hatsu & Anak ... and they are wearing matching sweat-jackets ( Hatsu's & Anak's are the same color & design ...) ... & Laure, Androssi & others looking serious..
aaaannnndddd.. we got to see our most awesome Ra-Leader ... RAK-SAMA.. :) ... loled at Parakewl calling him Rak-nim...
now.. most excited at next week's chapter .. how will Koon react to HwaRyun's relevation that Baam is Viole.. ?
All hail rak! Destroyer of turtles!
I find Dan's personality really fitting for a honest & true to his feelings guy..
When he met Koon.. he stopped climbing the tower because he fed up with people killing, betraying & climbing upon each other inorder to keep ascending the tower.. & he finally felt home with Koon's team..
When he found out the Rachel, Apple & Micheal betrayed Koon & others.. he felt really angry that they are killing Gyetang(chicken)…
someone at other forums pointed out.. when you observe this week's chapter.. we can notice the blood marks & path that Dan has dragged himself all over to the bed to check on his friend Gyetang .. :( and even tried to save his friend using the medical tools.. :(
Loved to see all the S1 guys again. It seems they have stayed close over the time.
But I am a little bit worried about the importance of death. Normally dead people stayed dead and were not revealed to have survived afterwards. But of the three main deaths in the last arc, it seems all will survive.
Okay, Koon was a given, but Dan now has survived too and it is very likely that horyang will too (please no!). I really dont like it, hope its not a new trend.
And honestly, Dan without his legs, could have stayed dead. We already have far too many useless or at least vastly outclassed characters among the S2 "good guys".
Mangacow's version is up. Edit: This one seems to be pretty bad.

(for those that don't know, Night=Baam)
I hate parkwell (i think his name is parkwell)
lol
I haven't changed my avatar since that chapter of luffy's flashback came out, but I thought about after Parakewl's antics.
"Somebody save me, you trash!!!!"
I'm surprised he was able to tag along this far. Maybe he developed some skills over the 8 years.
Rak rak rak
The Company version is out. Great chapter once again, the Workshop battle seems to be only a few chapters away now. Can't wait!
I am more excited about this chapter than I am about One Piece's 700th chapter.
! I'm actually pretty okay with the Part 1 cast changes, since my favourites – Rak, Ship, Androssi, Hatsu, and Anak -- are still around. And the new people look pretty cool. HQ translations make such a difference, haha. Can't wait for the Workshop Battle! I keep envisioning how everyone's going to react when they realise who Viole is (even if it takes a hundred chapters for this to happen).
Mangacow got the chapter out http://mangacow.net/tower_of_god/02-54/ reading it now.

I agree, but wonder…
! How the new members changed the dynamic and whether we are going to go on a mass flashback on Koon and the original group, must admit feels like this moment has been ages coming though
Dan just becomes more and more likable as this thing goes on. Good to see that Ilmar didn't lose his demon powers to Cassano.

Two devils are better than one
Now that we are sort of posting I just want to point out three characters that have really stood out to me lately:
1. Dan- He has been the most 'pure at heart' character we have had since old Baam. He has been awesome on so many levels and is quickly becoming a personal fav.
2. Hwa Ryun- Since her reveal as a guide, it has been really hard to tell whose side she is on. She has carefully manipulated many of the events up until this moment and not in a cheesy "I-had-it-all-planned-since-the-beginning-you-just-didn't-notice" sort of way, SIU has carefully placed her at specific points in the story for us to notice. I wonder if she is really even acting in F.U.G.'s best interest at this point. I also wonder if she or the administrator of the floor of test was the true mastermind for the plan to acquire Baam.
3. Koon- I will start by saying, I absolutely hate the character archetype that Koon sprouts from (the whole confident, flawless, pretty boy intellectual who cannot fail), however I love Koon. Its almost like he is that archetype times about 1000 to serve as some sort of personal joke for SIU. His quote this chapter where he interrupted his new teammate's estimate of their chances to win the tournament to say "100%" just made me laugh so hard for some reason. The way I define arrogance is that it is an "evolution of confidence that lacks a base" and Koon is an evolution of such excessive arrogance that it doesn't even matter whether it has a base or not anymore he will make it happen.
Anyways those are just some things that stood out to me, I really enjoyed this chapter.
Hah XD That's cute. And that screenshot thing annoys meeeeeee.

Chapter is out and god!, that end.
! I'm hyped as hell for the coming arc. My only complaint still is, that I dont care about the current team anymore and they all seem to be pretty lame and without some major assistance or plotarmour completly out of league in the tournament. Cant we switch to S1 team, please?
! Its also worrying, that the author is developing RSIs.
I love that OST :O

Oh wow, this is really, really good. I didn't expect anything like this. Definitely worth listening to while reading.
Also, yeah, I've been reading ToG for a few weeks now. One of the best "adventure" manga/manhwa/webcomic stories out there at the moment. I'm loving almost every single thing about it so far. I just hope that SIU will be able to keep everything under control as the story progresses and becomes infinitely more complicated and more diverse with all the political turmoil and continuously growing scale of power levels inside the tower.

! The current team is meant to revolve around Wangnan and perhaps builds some character development for Koon (as mentioned by Dan at the end of the chapter). Regardless, if Wangnan is the Prince of Zahard, then SIU's got something planned for him and the rest of the team.
! After the events of the Workshop Battle, my guess is that all the teams will conglomerate into one big team. All of Baam's friends will be there, so FUG won't have any leverage over him anymore.
! The main battle won't be the Workshop, but Baam vs. FUG - or at least I hope it will.
Yeah I can't stand the S2 team at all. All of them except Akraptor, Fire chick (always forget her family name), and Teddy are useless. Even Prince, who was supposed to have some power, has done a lot of nothing. Very bland, very uninspiring lot. S1 crew, on the other hand…! Anyway, I'm assuming the gash on the wall is from Baam testing a new needle? The dialog says "the thorn we prepared for you", but I found the situation a bit unclear and figure "thorn" might be one of those translation bugs; thorn/needle, night/baam, bang/room, etc.
Raaaak my dawg! Probably my favorite character of s1. Also can't help but think shades of HxH when I read this series.
The one character I'm interested in aside from our starter team (Baam/Koon/Rak) is Ship Leesoo.
Yeah I can't stand the S2 team at all. Very bland, very uninspiring lot.
I completely agree. It's not that they're weak, it's that they're uninteresting. We can only hope for an even split in panel-time between the teams.
I guess it will be fun to watch Koon turn them from zeroes to heroes, but honestly I'd rather see him use his tactic with a strong team
Yes I just want more Rak
And like you said, Koon + the new & improved (I hope) S1 team (+ Baam, if I'm allowed to dream) is something I very much hope to see.
And I wonder if Leesoo is now fangirl-able…
Theory hidden under tag for its incredible stupidity.
! I have this dumb theory which I like to entertain myself with, that Baam might be Zahard. I don't half-believe it myself, but if the Prince is Wangnan - as he seems to be - then the only other special Zahard-related identity I can think of for Baam (since his origins are all special and stuff, with that Zahard symbol on his cave wall) is Zahard himself, whom SIU said is presently "sleeping".
That theory, and pretty much every other batty theory you can come up with, has been tossed about at the batoto forums quite a bit… A couple more that people like are:
I don't much care for any of them, but it's true that his starting cave had the marks. So he comes from the place Zahard does or he's sealed in a place related to Zahard in some way at the beginning. Basically though if something's mentioned but not (confirmed to be) present in the plot currently, there's a baam-is-X theory for it.
Can I just say again how glad I am that people are posting here so that I don't have to read the inane chatter of those preteens on that subpar forum as much? It's very refreshing.
I've changed my mind
Baam is lizard alien man

I've been wondering how I can support SIU, because every time I read his little notes at the end of the chapter I feel a little touched by how sincere and humble he is, and how earnestly he works on ToG. Found this thread: http://www.batoto.net/forums/topic/5283-how-can-i-support-siu/
I guess I'll make an account to vote~
EDIT: Nevermind, I tried following the guide but I got stuck at the telephone number part. Even if I wanted to give it, the dropdown menu for the prefix codes only have 011, 012, 013, etc. and not mine. Oh well. :/

When we see Baam below the gash, he has his red crab thing out. I could only guess he was referring to that. And the translation is explained at the bottom of The Company's release for last week: "These are the lyrics from the song "Thorn" by Buzz, a Korean artist duo." SIU even quotes the next few lines of the song in his blog post.

I don't want to generalize on that forum (some posters are fairly intelligent) but maybe that's why I've only posted there twice. XD

Are you sure that's the crab thing? I recall the color this and last week being orange, whereas the demon (?) he has inserted in him (?) was pretty red. I'm basing this off of memory, I didn't bother checking. As for the lyrics, I just was wondering if the term used for "thorn" is the same or similar to "needle", at least in Korean, since in English the two are pretty similar. And that gash came from something that was being tested out, so it seems logical that he was given a needle since he has no weapon or inventory that we know of.

This would be reasonable except that baam has no weapon in his hand at the time, and we see a reddish fizzle around his hand. It could be an inventory disappearing but it's not so likely, especially because baam is not the sort to need or use traditional weaponry. It just doesn't seem to suit his skill set.
The same people who translated 'needle' before did the trans here to thorn, I believe, too. Also, why would FUG have 'prepared' him a needle?
I'm excited about his be careful in the next test remark. Half of me wants him to just kill them all, it would be a deliciously dark turning point, however unlikely.

Like you said, the crest of Zahard which was shown in the cave Baam was sealed in, could be from the outside world all irregulars and Rachel are from. That being said, SIU stated in his previous stories (Talze Uzer) that there are countless towers in the outside world. Makes you wonder if they also have that crest, and if all the towers are related in some way. Maybe that's why Phantaminum was checking out the tower and it's ruler (Zahard).

Given Baam is a wave controller and a genius shinsoo user at that (then again, he's an irregular), but can't use a weapon to save his life, it's probably some sort of shinsoo condenser - kind of like those psi blades Protoss Zealots use in Star Craft. Given SIU is Korean, by definition of stereotypes, it's not a long shot.
I severely doubt it has anything to do with the fragment FUG gave him previously. They said it could only be contained in the pool on the floor it was sealed on. Also, if the theory pans out, and that was a fragment of the guardian Enryu killed, then it makes the thorn even less likely.
I think it's plausible that the thorn can be the red lobster thing, but I don't think it is.
At first I thought it was some kind of ignition weapon, but now I just think it's a shinsoo move after this recent chapter showed him empty handed. (unless siu just didn't show him putting it away)
The reason I don't think it's a lobster is because I find it strange that they didn't tell Baam anything about what the red lobster was when they put it in him under Ha Jinsung, and Yu Han Sung's jurisdiction, and then all of a sudden some FUG regular is saying "How do you like the power of the thorn we prepared?" I think the thorn is a new shinsoo move they taught him, but the way they said it in the company translation still makes it seem like they made some weapon for him.
Found this fan Anime opening for ToG:
Really wish Naver coordinated producing Animes based of their Webtoons with Japan.
It's a dead industry in Korea because of the monopolization KDramas and Idol-related shows have in the market, but man, imagine ToG or Noblesse animated by Madhouse…

I went back and looked and the color isn't as orange as I remembered, so it could be the demon (?) they inserted in to him– I need to read that section again, but at the moment I'm remembering what happened to teddy and that they referred to it as a demon's soul, I think, that was put into them to turn them in to ignition weapons? I'll just refer to that as a demon for now, unless someone corrects me-- so anyway it could be the crab demon. Still, it has a hook-like shape, though that could just be wisps as it disappears, and we cannot see his hand, so I will still consider the possibility that it is a needle. Let's not forget that Baam was able to ignite the Black March, and that it will most likely return into his possession at some point. We really don't know what he can and cannot do at this point, so I think giving him a powerful ignition weapon is an easy way to give him more power.
I severely doubt it has anything to do with the fragment FUG gave him previously. They said it could only be contained in the pool on the floor it was sealed on. Also, if the theory pans out, and that was a fragment of the guardian Enryu killed, then it makes the thorn even less likely.
We only know they built a giant tank for it to hide in, nothing else. There's no indication that the crab thing could only be kept there, and since we see that it's been surviving outside with Baam for 5+years, that statement is wrong (source). So that means it's still possible the red crab before is the red wispy thing this time, but knowing SIU, this could all just be a red herring (Ha, red, get it?).
It's not illogical that they'd give him a power without telling him exactly what it was, then reveal/unlock its powers when they know that he's on the path to become a Slayer. And I say that because it's exactly what this whole Arlen's Hand plot was about: to make Baam be willing to kill to achieve his goals, like a true Slayer would.
I'm gonna go off on a tangent that's sliiiightly related to what I just said. Notice that when Xia Xia at last said Baam is finally her god, implying that his last couple actions set the condition, it followed his declaration that he would kill all of them, ie, FUG (source). Notice also how the conditions to being FUG's god is different between the two factions, with the Elders' side looking for willingness to kill anyone for the goal and Ha Jinsung's side looking for someone who can kill the unkillable, which singles out Zahard and possibly the family heads (source). Interesting, yes? It'll certainly paint the upcoming battles in a more ideological light, what with the wager and hostile factions within FUG.
No one ever refereed to it as a demon so I severely doubt the viability of It being an ignition weapon like Ilmar and Cassano's Demon, or the Black March.
Given the nature of Baam feeling It inside of him, and the fact FUG contained It in a special tank with shinsoo related properties (increasing a persons ability to wield shinsoo and growing shinheuh to large sizes), Baam's description could be a figure of speech pertaining to the Anima position. Given the relationship between Wave Controllers and Anima as being pure shinsoo manipulators, It would more likely to be similar to the lifeforms Enryu can create with his dense shinsoo than an ignition weapon which seldom has a soul of its own (only the 13 Month series and the Demon are known to have souls). If you recall, when Yuri attacked Ren (an Anima), he released the shinheuh he stored within his container in a similar manner to how Baam released It.
I still believe that what Baam received was a fragment of the Guardian Enryu killed given it's colour, the nature of secrecy, it's location in the the Inner Tower, and the necessity of having a shinsoo amplifying pool to contain it. Ilmar and Cassano's living Ignition Weapon experiment was done in the Middle Area of the Tower/Outer Tower where Zahard holds the most power (where regulars, non-regulars, rankers, high rankers, and the rulers live, whereas the Inner Tower is only for regular exams)- so it's extremely doubtful that none of Zahard's agencies kept track of what went on in his domain, especially if it involved experiments similar to the A/S-Class 13 Month Ignition Weapons he gave to his daughters.
Also, I don't see why Baam would ever get the Black March again. He has no need for it since he's not a Fisherman. He was only really able to use it during Headon's test on the first floor. After that, his affinity with shinsoo is what he relied on as a means of defence and combat.
We only know they built a giant tank for it to hide in, nothing else. There's no indication that the crab thing could only be kept there, and since we see that it's been surviving outside with Baam for 5+years, that statement is wrong (source). You're overlooking the properties of the water as a means of containment. Once it has been absorbed into another container that can handle it's power, then it's irrelevant. For example, Shinheuh only stay in pools like Baam's thing was in, but Ren was able to absorb it into his container and then walk around with it everywhere.
Given the nature of what Baam recieved, I don't think FUG would give it to one of their delivery boy regulars (i.e. not a slayer) to pass it on to him.
Damn, you made me go back and find the colors. And now it looks like you already found them. orz
I quote this thread, which has some interesting tidbits from SIU. So yeah, I think he's gonna get the Black March back, but I don't know if that precludes a second, less significant weapon. If I had to guess, this red thing is either the crab demon or a shinsoo skill, perhaps it's related to Enryu's red shinsoo? shrug
Q: Will Baam use a weapon later? (12/20/2010)
! A: Yep ^^
–- Update From New Post Merge ---

For example, Shinheuh only stay in pools like Baam's thing was in, but Ren was able to absorb it into his container and then walk around with it everywhere.
.
I do realize that it's used for containment and that Baam is another suitable container for the thing (I mentioned that in the post you quoted). But I'm saying that what you said, "it could only be contained in the pool on the floor it was sealed on" is not true. And since it's not true, we can't immediately discount the possibility that the red "thorn" is the red crab fragment we saw before.
No one ever referred to it as a demon so I severely doubt the viability of It being an ignition weapon like Ilmar and Cassano's Demon, or the Black March. It would more likely to be similar to the lifeforms Enryu can create with his dense shinsoo than an ignition weapon which seldom has a soul of its own (only the 13 Month series and the Demon are known to have souls).
I was referring to this dialog here [[URL="http://www.mangainn.com/manga/chapter/95943_tower-of-god_chapter_122/page_19"]link]. As usual I decided to just go back and read it. I'm linking this translation only because the pages are split up and it makes it easier to read the portion I was referring to; Company's release says the same. So, in short, all ignition weapons are created by inserting a soul into them– but then SIU contradicts this in his blog, the very same chapter, by saying "not all ignition weapons contain souls." Anyway, Cassano/Ilmar had a 'demon' or 'devil' soul split in half and inserted in to each of them to make them living ignition weapons. Ilmar believed Baam was the same, a living ignition weapon, and Baam/SIU didn't exactly deny it, so at this point I still assume Baam is one. The "water tank" would be the same required container as Ilmar's demon, which was in that tube.
Also, I don't see why Baam would ever get the Black March again. He has no need for it since he's not a Fisherman. He was only really able to use it during Headon's test on the first floor.
It's more of a story writing nuance than 'he needs it'. The Black March was introduced with him, loaned to him, ignited for the first time with him, likes only him, and was later taken from him before he could learn to use it. He will get it back someday, and if he doesn't then it would have been a waste of time (and therefore poor writing) for SIU to introduce it and spend the time he did with it. The thirteen month series will be important later on anyway, so it will come back in to the story, and nobody but Baam can use it.
Damn, you made me go back and find the colors. And now it looks like you already found them. I quote this thread, which has some interesting tidbits from SIU. If I had to guess, this red thing is either the crab demon or a shinsoo skill, perhaps it's related to Enryu's red shinsoo?
Another piece of information that could imply that either he received an ignition weapon (needle) or to your credit was exposed to the truth regarding his own ignition-capable body, is that at the end of the chapter I linked above (with Ilmar revealing his story and confrontation with Baam) SIU's afterward / blog talks about how the Workshop battle will reveal / contain a lot about ignition weapons. "Ignition weapons play a very important role later on, so it will be explained more during the workshop battle…"
Then I guess we'll get some good answers in this next arc. shrug
